No Harm Ever Came From Reading A Book

Artemis looked from him, to his bag, then back to him again. She wasn't even sure what he'd want her to do, and found herself reluctantly fishing through his things. She managed to find a piece of coal and something to write with as she moved closer to his side, wondering if maybe she could keep track of the numbers he'd found.

The Never King- a king erased from history because of his dabblings in dark magic (among other things...) suddenly because a present day problem when an unlikely group of adventurers 'awakens' him from the grave. I ran the Connlaothian civil war. For more info, check out it's page here. The war has now turned into a 'Cold War' with it's plotting page found here. It's no longer a huge site wide event but the scars are there.

She nearly dropped all of his things. Scrambling to get it all together, she brought his things to him and deposited it beside it.

Raking a hand through her hair, she sighed.
"So what do you think? What do you see?" She hadn't realized she had smeared some coal on her fface, not having thought about having touching it and what results it would yield.

"Hmm, all the evidence seems to be fairly jumbled.  However, these shoe markings are approximately twelve inches in length, and all this confetti all over the place seems rather telling," Caelwyn murmured, busy looking over what details he could find.

Oh this was more exciting than listening to Serling whine all night.  The hunt was on!

And he looked up only briefly.  "Miss Longfellow, brilliant idea.  A mustache is the perfect disguise for you. The evidence seems clear.  It must be someone from the festivities last night.  We must go and question them immediately.  Probably someone from the large tent!"

She didn't get what he meant, but he appeared to be crazy, but things began to click for her (in some way or another). She gasped.

"You don't think... Someone took note of me and... and.. decided they wanted my hair?" She took a hold of what was left of the curls before looking back towards Caelwyn with a bit of a pout.
"But why on earth would they want to? You don't suppose it was some withc or mage... andthey aim to curse me... do you?"
She couldn't help but become superstitious, even if she ought to know better.
