"I have no issues..." Felodas thought for a while. "We could use a man like you in the dragonriders. Would you like your own dragon and join my ranks? We could always use more dragonriders. You'd be trained, of course."

Cadmus stared at the man a long time, eyebrows raised with incredulity. They could use a man like him, said this dragon-rider? A man like him, who had been paid to kidnap a whore, and paid to rescue her again after? A man like him, a sellsword who took up jobs from anyone who could pay him, regardless of their morality? These were the sorts of men Adela was recruiting for their ranks?

With a sudden laugh, Cadmus shook his head. "If it's men like me that Adela's dragon-riders need, then I don't want any part of it."

And with that said, he mounted his horse and nudged it into motion.
