The force of his hand connecting with her cheek sent Lilira to the ground. She saw it coming, saw his hand rise and come at her as if in slow motion, but she couldn't move. All she could do was stare into the eyes of a man who hated her, and brace herself for the pain... and boy did it hurt.

"Hows darsh you takesh her awayyy frolm me!" Birchis cried, his voice slurring as the effects of his drunkenness took a hold of his speech as he took another swig from the bottle, glaring down at Lilira on the floor like she was scum. What Birchis saw before him through his alcohol glazed eyes wasn't an innocent 17 year old, but rather her biological elf father that impregnated her 'fathers' wife. She couldn't blame him - nothing about her said 'Thanti', so it was easy to see how, in his drunk state, he could have become confused.
As she lay there on the floor, helpless, she forced the tears that were threatening to spill over back as her face continued to burn. Her eyes - an elvish grey - took in her surroundings, and she realised she was backed into a corner. She couldn't escape. Birchis continued to stare down at her, wobbling slightly, a snarl etched permanently onto his mouth "Thashhh righh... you shtay dowrn" he snarled, as Lilira's stomach instinctively clenched as the hard leather boot slammed into her stomach. Lilira couldn't help but gasp in pain, ass all the air was forcefully knocked out of her. This seemed to satisfy the drunkard, as he proceeded to turned and shuffle away to a nearby seat, and Lilira allowed a sigh of relief to escape her lips as the sound of soft snoring promptly followed. Thank the gods that's finally over she thought, eyeing Birchis warily as she proceeded to stand slowly, both out of pain and caution, (she did NOT want to risk waking him up) Judging by the amount he drank he should be out for a few hours this time. Clutching her stomach, Lilira made her way carefully over to the door, but not before chucking on her hooded cloak. Making sure her clearly obvious elvish brunette hair, pointed ears and pale skin were covered, Lilira slipped through the door and out into the sun, taking only a moment to relish its warm touch on her face before she began running towards the forest that surrounded the outskirts of their farm. Like she mentioned before, Lilira only had a couple of hours to herself before Birchis woke up, so she wasn't going to waste one second.

His ship had been out on sea for far too long, and though accustomed to river boats, he found himself disagreeing with the ocean entirely. He was sick, green to his gills and hadn't eaten (nor could keep what he did eat, down). So by the time they docked in the Port of Jin'ta; he was paler than he ever was (despite the sunshine over the sea), scrawnier, and looking anything like the sophisticated tradesman he was.

But he was glad to be on land, and held himself together with what glue he could, but made it clear there was much urgency on unloading his ship and getting himself to his room for the night. Of course, to find out that Thanati lived in much smaller accommodations than he was used to, the stifling small room and the longevity of his sea sickness made him crave what he usually did not-

The open air. So he went on a walk, cancelled his evening appointment and had it rescheduled for the morning. He knew he was in no condition to be making deals with anyone, and he didn't want to put himself in a position of such weakness after he traveled all the way from Serendipity.

But the breeze was nice as it swept through the trees, and where as nature walks tend to make him itchy, this one was actually making him breath a little easier. In fact, he was breathing and feeling so much better he just kept on walking, using his kerchief to dab off any sweat collecting on his brow before he began to realize- perhaps he had walked too far and ought to turn around.

There was still enough hours in the day for him to return, have a second bath and hopefully, a proper meal. So he turned around, not thinking much about to farm resting on the hillside, and began to recollect himself as best he could. Now that he was feeling better, he could slip back into his professional mode. But just as he was beginning to think about books and ledgers, he paused a second to note something strange down the path.

He hadn't the best of vision, and did own a pair of spectacles which, he only wore on brief occasions if the writing on a document was too little. This, however, was an obvious animal of some sort and he, not being entirely familiar with all of the animals on this strange island wasn't sure exactly what to expect-
That was, until the animal turned away and squealed.

It was a boar- and it was running his way! So he did all he could do-
and turned tail and ran!

Lilira continued to run, causing her heart to feel as if it were going to burst out of her chest, well until she had gone quite far into the dense undergrowth that lay between the scattered trees of the forest. Only then did she allow herself a rest, leaning against a nearby tree for support while her chest heaved in and out, yearning for the air that kick so brutally removed. Lilira didn't even realise she was crying until she absentmindedly paced a hand to her still burning cheek and it came back wet. They weren't tears of sadness however - she had run out of those a long time ago. No, these were just a means of releasing tension, and expressing relief.

"Oh come on Lilira, you can stop this foolishness. This is just a small price to pay for a bit of freedom which isn't going to last long, so get going" she muttered to herself, brushing away the tears before pushing off of the tree to begin a steady stride through the trees, the pain from her stomach and cheek a distant memory which paled in comparison to her current surroundings. Fractures of light flitted down, escaping through the canopy wherever possible to settle on Lilira as she walked, creating a glittering effect over her dark hooded cloak as she passed beneath. Lilira's pale grey eyes lit up as they brushed over the surroundings she had come to know so well, and the hint of a smile picked at her lips. Now this is where I truly belong

Up at this height, it felt like you were on top of the world. Lilira could see for miles, even the farmhouse (which made her scowl), and above all, the ocean. Oh how Lilira wished to see the ocean, admire the swirling mass of blues and greens up close, feel the water on her skin... but she couldn't. Lilira had to remain hidden.
With a sigh she began making her her way down through the tree's branches. It had been a while now and if she were to make it back in time for Birchis' awakening she would have to begin her return journey now.

So Lilira made her way down the ever thickening trunk, scaling across a low hanging branch before jumping...
and landing hard on something - someone - running underneath, sending them both crashing to the ground with a cry of surprise. Before anything could happen however, her pointed ears picked up a nearby crashing, just as her eyes locked onto a huge shape bounding towards her

a boar

"oh hell"

Or... at least he had tried to run! Somehow, his attempt was thwarted when something, or rather,  a someone landed on him from the trees. It elicited such a shrill cry of surprise from the downed man that, he hadn't the time to properly be angry at the woman who decided it was a good time to pounce on him, because the second he turned to check back on the boar- instincts kicked in and he wrapped his arms around the woman, and threw both of them out of the boar's charging path and further tumbled into the dirt.
