She never considered herself a religious woman, considering she had been born and branded into a world of blood. She was very good at what she knew of, which was to kill in the arena, and to obey. But a battle hardened arena veteran like herself left little to the true means of navigating the changing tides of politics throughout the Jewel of the Desert.

Anyone who was anybody in Essyrn knew of the conquests of The Red Sun. A powerful and dangerous beauty, she was a favorite that drew in quite the crowd when she was out for blood. But as of lately, things seemed different. It appeared her sickly master was giving this slave just a bit too much freedom, and a lot of rumors were running wild.

The rumors weren't without truth, that her master, Karime, as dying. However, in truth, he was already dead, and had been for some time. And it was a tiring affair to keep such a secret from the world while learning the daily ticks of manipulation. Most of it she could push through since many feared her, but fear could only get so far, and time was running out for the Red Sun.

She knew sooner or later, someone might sniff out her secrets. And sooner or later she'd either hang, or have to find a means to escape. So it was perhaps too tantalizing of a rumor for her not to persue... a man of magic, one who worked n facades, and one who could perhaps help her preserve the lively identity of the dead.

It wasn't a rumor on the street, but rather amongst those few slaves who were helping with the underground escape line. They had already rescued a handful of slaves, but were ever determined to see a lot more head to freedom.

She herself had kept a wise distance to these slave rescuers, until she inadvertently helped a young child find her way to them. And in doing so, came upon some interesting information.

There was a man. He could wear many faces. He could use illusions and lies and spells. But it wasn't without a steep price.

Knowing she was already in over her head, the Red Sun was prowling the streets and heading for the slums- because it seems Essyrn's best kept secrets were harbored in the pits, in a rat infested world of disease and poverty. And though she knew many would talk as she traversed this section of town, she knew she had little choice.

If this man could... She could pay him more handsomely than any other-
The promise of a high position, of wealth, of gold...
All he had to do was pretend to be her master. To take on his dead face, and to help her navigate the very real possibilities of what the future was to come-

For if he were wise and if he were willing...
She saw a great potential that was bigger than even she. A role to play in the times to come.

Dare she mix fortune and fate? It seemed she had only one direction to go, and soon the grief striken and sick who lay, crying for help and dying, paused to observe the grand figure of the Red Haired deadly beauty that was the infamous Red Sun.
