Nevayah didn't answer his question. In response, she wrapped her arms around the tainted-blood as he did, Pulling him into an embrace that made electricity shoot through his skin in a matter of seconds. Her fingers ran up and down his back as she held him, his hands up and down her sides as he did her... Together, for a minute or two, they just stood there and hugged one another, the happiest people in the world just sharing a comforting embrace... Lanister let out a sigh, more content with where he was right now than he ever was before... He was so happy he managed to convince his Nevayah to stay... He was so happy that she let him hold her, kiss her and be hers despite the fact she was asking for an effective divorce only a moment ago. Old enemies would never tear them apart... Not the demon, not the Fat man... This town as a place of protection for all and they WERE safe, no matter what kind of bluster they may swing at them...

All good things must come to an end, though, as Nevayah pulled away just enough to steal a kiss of her own. He smiled at him and him at her, Lanister wishing they could just be like this forever... Forever was short, though, as his wife pulled away to find her clothes, Lanister running his hands through his brown hair to clean it up just a bit... He couldn't stop staring at Nevayah... There was something about her that made the other tainted so enticing... Something beyond looks or desires... Even after spending upwards of 14 years together, only the gods knew what that was...

Once Nevayah had slipped on her clothes, Lanister would do the same and in a few moments, it looked as though nothing had ever happened between them... at least, except for their breathing that they were still trying to get over. Before the male tainted could say anything, kiss Nevayah again or both, they both heard a soft knocking against the door, followed by the sound of their son's voice, muffled by the door. Lanister couldn't help but let out a laugh as he heard Izayah, throwing the door open and wrapping his arms around his little boy with a smile on his face.

"We know, Izayah..." Lanister snickered before pulling away and making his way downstairs.

Emia was hard at work with Emria, setting the table with all the food, dishes and silverware, smiling all the while... There was very little she enjoyed more than giving back to her parents for the life she was giving to them... Although they may not yet know it... Some nights... when the nightmares are very vivid... She sometimes suspected that these weren't just nightmares... but memories... IT WAS hard to believe, what with her parents actually being slaves in a desert, horrible things done to them that she couldn't even put words too. Of course, she kept completely silent and was somewhat of a master at keeping silent, she thought. If she told them that the nightmares were still here and what her suspicions were... then they'd hide them away because her parents could surely do that... She'd be left in the dark, more alone than she would've been with the horrors keeping her company.

Once Lanister, Nevayah and Izayah entered the dining room, they were beheld with a grand spectacle. A LONG table filled almost to over-flowing with food from potatoes to chicken to roast... It was like they were having food for 20 over here in this one house... It was incredible how fast this food was prepared! Emia stood between her parents and the table, smiled as broad as she could before wrapping her arms around them both and smiling like she had achieved something special.

"Mom... Dad... This is for you..." She gestured to the feast before them, Lanister feeling the least like a slave than he ever did in his entire life... He looked over at his partner and love, grinning, expecting a similar reaction. How could she NOT be bedazzled by such a work of art? Even the smells seemed to be finely crafted to their tastes. In fact, if Lanister didn't know better, this place could've all been some kind of trap with how perfect it all was.

Jumping back from the door suddenly shooting open Izayah was thrown off guard by his fathers emerging arms. After the embrace the boy stood there for a moment as his father made his way down the stairs. After his father had passed his mother emerged from the room, seemingly more calm than when they entered. Matter of fact everything seemed to be a bit lighter about her, she was smiling for real now. Walking past Izayah she brushed her hand along his shoulder before descending the stairwell as well leaving the boy to stand there confused.

He only took a moment to gather his thoughts before rushing down the stairs as well behind his parents, happy that they were about to see what he and Emia had prepared for them. Even though he had helped Izayah was still bewildered at the sight before them, all the food for their consumption. Of course Emia had been feeding the twins well, but nothing as extravagant as this. He was joyful knowing his parents would not be the ones having to feed them for a change. Glaring at his sister he nodded as if to signal that the were both in agreement that they deserved this and that maybe, just maybe things would go back to normal again.

Nevayah was completely breathtaken by the site, already imagining which foods she would eat first. Turning to Lanister as he did her she smiled back before taking a place at the table. Izayah went ahead and took a seat opposite of where his father would sit, wanting nothing more than to be sitting next to him, but he was a gentleman and those seats would be for his mother and sister.

Lanister sat down at the table, in front of his son, smiling at the eager boy as his sister sat before her mother, tired, but content with all the work they'd put into their meal... And what a meal it is... Emia was quite proud of the chicken herself, one that she'd seasoned and cooked with little to no guide from Emria OR the cook-book. She smiled softly at her brother as he glared at her, the two sharing a silent message that yes... YES they deserved this... With mom and dad here with them, proud and happy with a friend as well, all sitting down together for a meal they prepared... They deserved this moment of happiness.

Lanister smiled at his son from across the table, letting him know what a fine job he's done with the preparation of their meal, patting his little Emia on the head to signal the same to her. Before they could all start eating, however, Emria returned from the kitchen, cleaning up her workspace before sitting down at the head of her table, smiling at each and every one of them.

"I hope you enjoy your meal." She said, nodding at the feast in front of them. "Your children are fine cooks, Lanister. I might have to hire them myself once the get old enough!" The tainted blood chuckled and Emia blushed slightly.

"Why thank you, Boss, but you have Nevayah to thank for their skills. I wish I could've prepared something so wonderful." And, with that, he began shoveling food from the table to his plate, at least a little of everything presented there. Of course, Emia followed her father's example, but FAR more on the meats and breads and much less on the vegetables... Even at this age, little Emia wasn't a fan of asparagus and broccoli... As Lanister took a bite into the chicken, his face lit up in delight... it was WONDERFUL! Truly, this was the best he's ever tasted, second only to Nevayah's home cooking. What had she been teaching them while he was at work... How to cook non-stop?
