Before the thoughtful Ekrina could make her attempt to wake innocent Lynx, a hand grabbed hers swiftly.  Li's tired eyes opened and a kind smile was spread across his face.  "Shhh..." he warned quietly as Lynx slept peacefully.  "She just barely got to sleep a little bit ago."  He whispered.  He released Ekrina's hand gently and gazed about the room from his laying position, looking up at everybody.  Peeking over at Shuu from his upside-down point of view, he grinned happily and waved.  "I'm glad to see your finally awake.  I was worried about you."  He whispered again, gazing at her with exhausted eyes.  Though he didn’t really seem to show it earlier, he really did worry.  He tried not to let things like that get the best of him so he would ignore them, feeling very uncomfortable on the inside.  Fore some strange reason, he saw the look in her eyes...and he actually understood it.  She really did need someone to hold her right now.  His smile faded as he figured her out and he sighed.  Unable to move without disturbing Lynx, he extended his arm to Shuu.  "C'mere." He smiled kindly with sleepiness.  "Please...it's okay."  He continued in a whisper.  What was he doing?  He gestured for Shuu to come sit by his side for a moment, but why?  He seemed so warm right now and he wanted to comfort the poor girl, knowing she needed it badly.

Shadow paused as Hydrous' large, furred hand landed on her shoulder. The distant femme turned her head just slightly to look at it, then up to stare blankly at his face. He was offering to help her...? She blinked those acid green eyes, and then faintly nodded. "Alright...thank you..." She mumbled, her head falling back to it's original state even as she spoke. She was reluctant to move from her spot, even the small amount of touch and proximity to Hydrous making her feel alittle better.

She hardly heard Li's first words, and was content to ignore them. Her gaze flickered to him only momentarily, but in time to catch the extension of his arm. What was he doing?
She blinked a few times at his request, surprised. And he seemed intent on having her come over too.
Shadow shifted lightly, then slowly made her way over, wondering if it was worth leaving Hydrous and the search for Blade to do. She paused again next to him, and then sat slowly, sore muscles protesting. Once she was sufficiently comfortable, and sitting indian style, she simply stared at Li with those haunted eyes. "What?"

Ekrina almost cried out when Li suddenly grabbed her arm.  She muffled it to a surprised squeak.  Clearly still recovering from a good night's sleep, she stared questioningly at Li as he beckoned Shuu over to them.  He looked pretty tired himself, and it was likely that he hadn't noticed Lynx's state of affairs.  Her complexion kept the pink cast of her blushing as her eyes followed Shuu's progress toward them.  She hadn't noticed her strained look from across the room, and now wore a look of concern as she sat next to her.

ooc: Just so you know, if you have something to say, please don't feel that you have to wait for me.  I post sporadically at best, and mostly because I don't know what to write.  If you just skip me, I'll be more likely to reply with more than a sentence or two.

With a pleased grin on his face, Li reached up and began to pet Shuu's ear and cheek.  He caressed it softly as he coaxed her warmly.  "Thank you." He replied softly as she came willingly over to him.  "Don worry.  Its gunna be all right." He whispered, hoping his pets were what she wanted.  He knew she needed some attention, but he wasn’t sure if she'd accept him or his attention, though he really wanted her to.  She was cute.  He stared into her haunting gaze, not uncomfortable at all with it.  Instead, it let him see into her.  He could see the innocent person within her damaged shell.  Maybe it was the power of Lynx as she slept against him.  Maybe it was her power gifting him with these new feelings.  "Please don shy away from me..." he asked kindly.  He may have been carefree, but it did bother him on the inside.  "You just want someone to hold, don you?" he guessed gently, reading into her gaze.  His voice was compassionate and soft as he spoke to her.  He still kept us his caring smile as he held Shuu's face lightly, stroking and brushing it lightly.  "If I bother you, please let me know.  After all, I just wanna help..." he confessed.

When Li called Shadow to him, Hydrous simply stood there. While Shadow Walker made her way towards the human, Hydrous idley crossed his arms over his chest and watched. He had nothing better to do. Besides, he did take it upon himself to become Shadow's guardian. It was the least he could do as her becoming human was his fault. Aside from that, Shadow was the first to befriend Hydrous since his existance in this world.

Shadow twitched at first as Li's carassing hand touched the side of her face. It was that first flicker of warmth against the cold wall that had built itself around her. She physically felt it...she could feel the warmth of his hand, her smooth pale skin much chillier than it originally appeared. And then her head dipped, tilted, so that her quiet face rested against his hand and her long sheet of ebony hair covered her features from view. It was because her lips were trembling, and she didn't know why. The trembling spread to the rest of her body then, as though the cold that had been sitting on the very surface of her skin was now seeping deeper into her flesh, fleeing from Li's kindness and warmth.

She kept her slender hands planted firmly in her lap, fingers clutching the fabric of her pants. She wasn't shying away...she wasn't being skittish...
For once she was completely accepting, even wanting. Though her want had already become a need after centuries of neglect, a need that was surprisingly pure and simple for her demonic self. She nuzzled his hand very gently, the trembling slowly abating, leaving her cold body free to lean forward slightly, to bring herself closer without conciously doing so.

"You just want someone to hold, don you?"

Shadow inhaled sharply, but it came out a soft whimper that was purely lupine. She licked his exposed wrist with another soft whine, unable and unwilling to act completely human. Finally somebody got it! She did want to hold somebody, to be held. That was what she needed...

Li continued to caress Shuu's cheek, watching as she hid her face behind her pretty black hair as she tilted her head into Li's hand.  This made him smile a little more comfortably and he brushed his thumb past her cheek, just under her eye, and it passed down the side of her nose and over her soft trembly lips.  His smile dimmed a bit, feeling compassion for poor Shuu, but he continued to coax her with his overfriendly and innocent petting.  Her whole body then began to tremble and she responded to Li's actions, nuzzling his hand.  He smiled kindly; relieved that Shuu's trembling died down and that she was a little more relaxed.  She then leaned forward after his one accurate opinion and he watched her closely.  Her sharp breath and then her whimper, oh my, he was right.  His smile would have grown, but she then licked his wrist.  Surprised by the unusual affection, Li blushed a little, but continued to let her lick.  He was slightly shy of the treatment but if it made Shuu comfortable, he would let her do so.

His other arm was kept around the small Lynx as she clung to him in her slumber. The little Elf fidgeted slightly, cuddling closer to Li's form, soothed by his aura that she had the ability to sense.  Feeling his presence relieved her mental strains and allowed her to free herself of her stress and tensions.  She was finally in a true sleep, her mind not subconsciously awake and continuously thinking.  Slightly distracted by this, Li gazed down at her with that same kind smile until she adjusted herself again.  Noticing her unclothed predicament, he froze for a moment and a sudden shiver ran up his spine.  His cheeks flushed a deeper red as her healthy bosom pressed against him and he could see further down the twisted sheet.  Her leg lifted over his a little, hanging out from the coverings, revealing all the way up to the edge of her shapely round bottom, showing it off ever so slightly and teasingly.  Wow...what a sensation...so cruel...

It took a moment, but Li regained himself enough to think and he glanced over at Ekrina with a look that said 'Oh...that's why you tried to wake her'.  His heart beat faster and then something hit him.  Some unusual force calmed him, regaining his composure.  He took a deep breath and gazed back over at Shuu calmly.  He held her face a little more firmly and sighed.  "Don worry.  I promise to make it up to you." He smiled at her.  "Let me...um...deal with this little one real quick." He said kindly, pulling away from Shuu's cheek.  Li sat up slowly and did his best to keep Lynx covered as he adjusted her into his arms.  She now wore the sheet with that towel somewhere buried inside.  He stood up ever so gently and carried her off to Ekrina's room, placing her on the bed for Ekrina to deal with.  His blush still remained and he left the room quietly with another sigh of relief, leaning against the wall.

His heart raced in his chest and then he pushed off the wall after a moment and stumbled back over to Shuu.  He reached down and took one of her hands and pulled her to her feet.  His body trembled slightly, still recovering from his shyness.  After standing her gently, he placed a hand on each shoulder and smiled.  "Somebody to hold..." he whispered almost inaudibly to himself, working up his courage as he gazed at her.  He then pulled her to him and hugged her, rubbing his hands up and down her shoulders and back.  His timidness still remained, causing a slight tremble in his movement and his heart still raced.  He took a deep breath and continued to hug.  "Th-there, there." He whispered, his head to the side of hers as they embraced.  Inside, Li was going nuts just trying to maintain himself.  Damn this girl shyness!  He was about ready to faint right there.  Why did girls do this to him? It was heinous, heinous I tell you!

Shuu knelt to Ekrina's left.  The little girl felt a little awkward at the slowly escalating show of affection between the two.  She kept her mouth shut up until Li's gaze shifted down to Lynx in her declothed state.  A slowly exhaled, "Oh, my..." escaped her lips as his face flushed and his eyes met hers.  She stood with Li and offered Shuu a very embarrassed smile before she followed him into her bedroom.
After he left the room, Ekrina carefully removed the sheet and errant towel to expose the full figure of the woman about the same in stature.  She knew Lynx was probably very tired, and decided against trying to dress her for risk of waking her.  Instead, she pulled the bedspread over the sleeping elf and decided to leave it at that, for now.  That done, she returned to the living room just in time to see Li hug Shuu.  She wasn't sure what to think as her heart fluttered at the sight.  Li appeared to be... a little too friendly with women.

Shadow was no longer in the mindset of a woman. She was pure wolf, if without the proper body for it. To humans, her licking Li seemed almost kinky in a way. But to her, to her wolf's mind, it was an innocent show of gratitude and affection. There was nothing sexual about it, despite appearances to all non-wolves in the room.
Both slender hands creeped out of her lap to rest on the floor, giving her hunched form an even more feral look. All of that long, shiny black hair was spread out across her back and shoulders, still partially shielding her pale face.

She was held more firmly, and forced herself to recognize the words he said, struggled to understand, the human in her buried beneath instinct. She growled softly but he was up, away, taking Lynx and causing Ekrina to follow.
Shadow calmly rocked forward onto all fours, watching the three quietly from behind that curtain of hair. Her acidic green eyes were pools of color, holding that spark of intellegence and pride that all wolf eyes contain.

His return was met with internal joy, if not apprehension. It was the wolf's reaction, not the demon's or the human's. She wasn't even sure she was capable of speech at the moment. And it was potentially dangerous for Li...
Li was human to her, and he had no rank in her wolf mind.
Only Shadow's coherent subconcious held her back, only her need for contact with some other living thing drowned out her killer instinct.
For now, anyway...

Shadow reluctantly stood as he pulled on her hand, reminded again of her bipedal stature. She wobbled until he placed his hands on her shoulders, steadying her. She stared blankly into his face, her mouth slightly open as though she might make some sound, though none arrived. And then she was being held by a slightly trembly Li. Almost immediately her arms wrapped around his midsection, fingers digging into the cloth of his garments. Most of her face was hidden against his shoulder, only those chilling eyes still visable. And those eyes flickered to Ekrina, reading the look on her face, and her body language most of all.

Shuu simply growled at the girl and held Li tighter. At this point, her wolf mind only acknowledged certain people as 'pack', and at the moment Li was just that. And Ekrina wasn't.
It was that simple.
She couldn't help her lupine instincts, not in her feral state of mind.

Li let poor Shuu cling to him, relaxing slightly as the seconds passed.  Her head was close to his and her breathing tingled on his shoulder.  He blushed still, rubbing up and down her back softly, sighing gently in relief.   Shuu held him warmly, scared and lonely, and he somehow felt for her.  Li then heard and felt the growl from Shuu and was about to pull away to see what was wrong when she held him tighter.  He blinked curiously, and didn’t pull away from her.  What was that then?  Was Shuu declaring something to somebody?  Li pondered this, holding Shuu more warmly in response.  "Shhh, its okay." He whispered softly, coaxing Shuu.  His words were gentle and caring as he nudged her head with his before realizing it and he blushed more, feeling awkward.

Satisfied with her display, Shadow went back to enjoying her brief time as pure wolf. Whether her body agreed or not, that was what she was just then. In all of her life, aside from the time when she was a newborn pup, Shadow had never been allowed to show the side of her that Li had seen within her haunted green eyes, never been able to display her gentler side.
Only Blade had ever really seen it, and even then, it wasn't like this. He had seen affection from her, which had never been bestowed on anyone else, but it was not the same thing.
Shadow was finally able to be her mother's daughter, if only for a little bit.

The muscles in her lean back twitched as his hands rubbed over them, reacting much the way a dog's muscles would when being pet. It was soothing, and finally, those wide feral eyes slightly closed, relaxed. She whined softly, but it was a happy sound, and it was certain that if she had a tail, it would have been wagging.
The soft nudge against her head that he granted her was lupine enough to elicit a lupine response. Shadow whined louder, in a somewhat higher pitch, and stood a bit straighter, Li only being a few inches taller than her now human form. And then she licked him, turning her face to his, her pink human tongue dragging from the bottom of his ear all the way up to his temple, the whines still rolling happily out of her chest, but softer now. It was customary. You bump and rub heads, and then lick each other's faces about the ears, eyes, and muzzle.
The affectionate lick finished, Shadow nuzzled him back, looking for all the world like a happy puppy in a human woman's body.
An odd mix, to be sure.

Settling back again, Shadow buried her face into his shoulder and neck, teeth nibbling at his skin lightly before she finally fell still.
She felt better now, alive, comfortable, and relaxed. And to think that it had been annoying/shy Li who had managed to do so.
As her human mindset slowly seeped back into existance, Shadow made a concious effort to block the harsh demonic shell that was her usually portrayed personality from reappearing.
Taking a deep breath, Shadow sighed against him. Then softly, inaudible to almost anyone but the close-proximity Li, Shadow spoke.
"Mother would have liked the name Shuu..."
And then it happened again, those damn annoying human-tears! Shadow's body jerked involuntarily and she sniffed, quickly pressing her watering eyes to Li's shoulder to hide them from view.

Oh crap...  He felt stupi...suddenly he was being licked up the ear and tensed up, a shiver running up his spine.  Unusually, he held still for Shuu, resisting his urge to pull away from the intimate situation.  He exhaled nervously as she continued to lick, closing his eyes out of timidness.  Then Shuu had finished and nuzzled him back again and he let out another breath and relaxed a little more.  Now THAT was awkward.  Those soft whines made Li feel so unusual.  They were so affectionate.  He blushed more, just thinking about the situation and what Shuu just did.  And then Shuu nibbled at his shoulder-neck area and he shivered with a slight gasp, trying to hold still again.  C'mon, don’t screw this up now!  Shuu is so happy right now.  Just let her have it.  Giving in to his tender side, he let the unusual affection take place, hoping it would all turn out okay.  Shuu went still and Li relaxed again.  And then Shuu whispered in his ear.  His eyes showed surprise as he repeated them in his head.  But before he could say anything, Shuu began to cry, burying her face in him.  Instead, he just closed his sympathetic eyes and embraced her tighter.  "Its okay..." he whispered just as softly, trying not to cry, though his body still trembled ever so slightly.

Did she just... growl?  Ekrina stood there, not knowing what to do at all.  The moment was intimate, but not nearly as intimate as it became when Shuu licked Li's face.  Ekrina's hands shot up to cover her fiercely blushing face.  This was the strangest behavior she'd ever seen humans exhibit.  Having absolutely no willpower to interfere, she left it up to someone else to diffuse the situation, as she could only watch.  First with Lynx, and now with Shuu; Li was turning out to be quite the player.

Shadow fought fiercely against the tears that were wetting Li's shoulder, hating the suddenly open, raw feeling that they left her in. She felt so vulnerable when she cried...and yet...she couldn't seem to stop. They just poured out of her, slender shoulders racked with sobs as utter centuries of past pain came out. It took a good solid 20 minutes or so of fierce crying before it finally trailed off.
And when it was over...
...she felt..better?

Sniffing, Shadow lifted her head a bit. "I...I feel better..." She sniffed again, tilting her head into Li's neck. "Is...is that...normal...?" She had obviously never cried before as a wolf, so it was a fairly new experience to her. So of course she would have no idea that often times a good sob-fest can do one good.
She now felt stupid...and also couldn't come up with anything else to say. And she also wasn't entirely sure she was ready to let go of Li yet either, even if it added to her mounting embarassment.
"S.sorry..." She mumbled, hoping she hadn't bothered him too much with suddenly going all feral and then teary-eyed on him.
Ugh...
How...
Human.

As if the moment has come to an end, a large white furry hand pats Li on the shoulder. If he were to look at the source of the hand, he would see a smile on Hydrous' maw. Li managed to calm Shadow down and that gives him a lot of appretiation from the large lycanthrope. Suddenly, as if some internal occurance has recently happened withing Hydrous, he throws his hands up to support his head as he stumbles back a bit. Without a yalp or growl of any kind, Hydrous' arms fall limp just before he does. What the hell just happened?

That was the longest twenty minutes ever, but it was well worth it if it made Shuu feel better.  He felt bad for Ekrina though. He'd have to let her know later that Shuu didn't mean it, but right now, he was preoccupied.  Wow, he felt like a peacemaker today.  Li was soo happy for Shuu, and smiled when she told him she was feeling better, and he nodded his head.  "Y-yeah." His hands gently rubbed up and down her back.  "That's pretty normal." He reassured her in a soft voice, still trying to maintain his composure.  "There there now, all better." He coaxed, continuing to rub.  Li then smiled more when she apologized.  "Nonono, its fine.  It's completely all right.  There is no reason you have to apologize to me.  As long as you're feeling better, that makes me feel better." He held her still, waiting until she was comfortable enough to let go.

Li felt something pat his shoulder, and peeked up to see the Kitsun wannabe.  The wolf had a thankful smile for him.  Li smiled back for him and then quirked an eyebrow as the large dimwit starts stumbling around.  What the...??  Thud... ...hell??  Li rolled his eyes, almost in complete disbelief at what just happened?  This had better be a joke.  He was NOT about to comfort HIS ass.   Thinking SOMEWHERE in the back of his complex mind, Li came to the conclusion that something might actually be seriously wrong.  But how freakin convenient was that?  It was soo out of place it HAD to be fake...but...was it??  Li was SLIGHTLY worried now, leaning over, with Shuu in his arms, to see the fallen lummox.  "Hey.  You all right?" he asked questioningly.

All this commotion began to bother a little somebody who was now awoken from her sleep.  Kawaii had woken up.  She lay nearly unnoticed on the pillow next to Lynx, her glowy noticeableness gone while she slept.  She rubbed her eyes and looked over to find her master sleeping peacefully beside her.  When did she get there??  Kawaii blinked curiously and then heard more of the ruckus that had disrupted her sleep.  In an instant, she shot from the pillow and fluttered to the doorway.  Zipping about the room, she saw Li with Shuu in his arms and the big white puffy wolf face first on the ground.  She then saw Ekrina and landed plop on her head.  Kawaii took a moment to absorb the situation while she sat, and then, without warning, darted from Ekrina's hair back into the bedroom.  "Lynx!" she yelled, buzzing over to her and bouncing on the sheets where she slept under.  "Kawaii saw bad stuff!" she whined, trying to get her attention.

Lynx's eyes opened slowly and she stretched, sitting up and reaching to pat Kawaii.  "What is it?" she asked sleepily, rubbing her eyes and looking around the room.  This wasn't where she fell asleep...  Where was Li??  She blushed at that being the first thought in her mind.  She sat up and looked at Kawaii.  "What is it Kawaii?" she asked curiously, still a little tired, but feeling MUCH better after actually getting some sleep last night.  Why was she in Miss Ekrina's room and in her bed??  She felt like she was imposing...

Oh my, oh my, oh my....  So much commotion in the morning.  Ekrina hadn't the slightest idea what to do.  Initially, she had wanted to make breakfast, but it didn't seem like an appropriate action with all that was going on at the moment.  All she could do was stare, shocked, as the odd string of events played out.
