Tell Me What The Rain Knows...

---

Her eyes closed, the seemingly young girl took in the scent of the ocean breeze. Her delicate bare feet sinking into the dark sand of early morning. The waves, with white foam, like white angels dancing their eternal dance along the shore, forever to spin and cascade with the will of the moon. The water felt good on her skin, and she sighed deeply, in full content.

She had been on this earth so long, she couldn't begin to count how many times she'd stood by the water at sunrise, how many times she'd felt the water rush against her feet. She opened her eyes for the thousandth time, to see the brilliant colors of sunrise melding with the water of dawn. Every bit of beauty in the fire hued sky was reflected ten fold in the brilliance of the ocean, and she gasped with amazement at its beauty. This sight she had seen many a time, but it always took her breathe away.

The vixen smiled warmly, golden eyes continued to gaze at the lovely painting before her. She then sat gently in the sand, and removed her tiara, jewelry, and out layers of clothing, leaving only her white robe. She laughed and jumped off the shore, her fox-like strength and natural ability carrying her much farther than that of a normal human. She dived straight into a wave, swimming under, and coming back up, tossing her head back, her free white hair, no longer held captive by any sort of tie or bangle, flew gracefully over her shoulders. She smiled, laughing in her own happiness. In the light of the fire-red sun, the reflection of a white fox could be seen, smiling in its glee.

"Roukro...?" she asked, in a sort of worried tone. "What's wrong?" she then asked.

Or Are These The Tears Of Ages

If there was a time of day that Sinopa enjoyed the most, it was sunrise. Sunrise gave her a feeling of happiness and content, a reminder to her that every day is a new beginning. She loved watching the sunrise, especially by the waterside, where the colors are even more spectacular. The seemingly young woman who resembled a gypsy smiled warmly, her sea-green eyes shimmering with innocent glee.

Sinopa then danced along the shoreline in joy, the soft sand caressing her bare feet. It was a dance she had learned a thousand years ago from the gypsies, a most enchanting dance performed on mornings such as this. Her movements possess a grace unlike anything ever seen, and the breeze happily added to that grace.

After another few exilhirating moments of dance, Sinopa collapsed on the sand, laughing in content. She allowed the morning sun to shine down upon her form, gently bearing the warmth upon her. She was so lost in her own joy that she failed to notice the other woman swimming happily in the sunlit sea. For a moment, the sun cast the shadow of a bronze, seven-tailed fox, smiling.

Jelani had always loved the beach, since the first time he saw one. Sure, the heat that came with it was uncomfortable, but that's what all the water was for, now wasn't it? Luckily, it was only morning, so the weather was cool enough for him. He stretched, yawning monstrously, as he loosened his joints. The ocean was just so big, how could anyone not be amazed by it? Jelani grinned, opening his eyes toward the sun and surf and-

Ooh, what was this, now? Not one, but two lovely ladies gracing this little section of sand? My my, this seemed to be a wonderful start to the day; such a show. Jelani saw the further woman first, swimming the ocean with such glee in her features. If the sea was any warmer, he would have been tempted to join her in the sea, but for now he simply turned his gaze to the second, a gypsy, perhaps? Jelani watched her dancing, more graceful than he could hope to be, with wide eyes. He'd had a childish urge to grab her braid, as it swung around her, but brushed the feeling away, quickly. He was so taken with the woman's movements that he didn't realize he'd been watching so closely until she stopped, laughing, and lay on the sand.

Well, if these ladies were so happy already, his presence shouldn't dampen their mood any! Jelani stood from his position near the beach dunes, which were farther back, and whooped, running towards the surf and stopping just at the water's edge.

Faolan was not a beachgoer. He hadn’t been since his first trip on a ship, which had simply been excruciating. He hadn’t understood how much he’d needed solid ground underneath him until he’d boarded that boat. The last thing he needed now was a reminder that he had just taken yet another trip across the sea, but predators prowled the places without views of the ocean. Normally he would have welcomed the challenge, but now, still recovering from seasickness, was not a good time. He’d barely gotten his land legs back.

So, he had been exiled to the beach for the night. He was sprawled on the sand, lying on his belly. He opened his eyes, propping himself upright on his elbows. He sniffed the air. There was the strong, salty smell of the sea, of course, almost overpowering everything else. Three smells alerted him to living beings-two he didn’t recognize, while the third was that of one of his kind, no doubt a loner like himself.

He looked around and saw Sinopa dancing. Hmm…maybe the beach wasn’t so bad at all. If exile on the beach meant that he could watch beautiful ladies dance all day, why, then he would be more than willing to live by the shore and eat seals for the rest of his life.

He watched her movements, entranced. How could anyone be so graceful? She seemed like a creature out of the stories that his mother had told him-an angel, perhaps, or a Nereid of the sea. Who was this woman, who danced by sea to welcome the sun?

He was disappointed when she suddenly stopped. It had been such a beautiful dance, unlike anything he’d ever seen before. There were still two more beings unaccounted for, though. He looked around carefully and saw the two others-a man and a swimming woman. His sense of smell informed him that it was the man who was the wolf shapeshifter in the group. He could hear a whoop from the man's direction, and resisted the urge to howl in reply.

Everyone seemed to be having fun, he noticed. He hadn't had contact since Yoreiq, and the trio didn't seem hostile. Well, the swimming lady probably wouldn't welcome an awkward wolf like himself interrupting her, and he wasn't sure how the other shapeshifter would react. That left the dancing girl.

He stood up and walked over to her, pleased to note that he'd gotten over his seasickness. Sitting down beside her, he asked, "Mind if I join you?" It wasn't the most creative greeting,  but Faolan wasn't an artist.

The vix's eyes flashed to her left, where they widened. How had she not noticed three other beings in her midst? She rolled her eyes at herself, and hurried casually out of the water, so her reflection would not be seen. With a happy smile she approached the three. "Good morning." she said, her voice quite melodious, a charming trait of her's.  She was fairly surprised that so many where out at such an early hour.

She really didn't know what else to say, so left it at that. There were, after all three others who needed to speak. She looked from one to the other. She recognized the girl to be one of her own, and she smiled warmly at her. She guessed that the girl would recognize them as the same as well. To a Kitsune, Kaiyira's white hair was a dead giveaway, as well as her graceful figure, which was rarely found in those with that color of hair. She was surprised, yes, but also happy to finally have some company. It had been a while since she'd spoken to anyone. As she looked aorund the group, she smiled. Both boys seemed to be quite interested in the girl, which probably meant the girl made friends easily, providing her happiness. Although that wasn't really the subject at hand, those were the thoughts crossing her mind, and they brought the vixen joy.

The other two, the men, she didn't know what they were exactly. For all she knew they could be human. She waited patiently for one to speak, or otherwise introduce themselves.

OOC: so sorry for the wait you guys! Punish me! -cries-

((OOC:-- *Hugs .: ||Kaiyira|| :.* There there. It's okay. Don't cry. I just missed you, that's all. I'm not punishing you for not being here so long.--))

Sinopa looked up and saw the three other beings in her midst. One was a beautifu white-haired woman, who she recognized as one of her kin, probably much older and wiser than herself. The other two boys she couldn't recognize...were they human? One of them came up to her and sat next to her. "Mind if I join you?" he asked.

Sinopa gave a very warm smile. It had been quite a long time since she had company, and a friendly presence was always welcome to her. "Not at all. Please stay," she said, her voice displaying an accent that was like that of the gypsies, light-hearted with a little bounce in her words. The accent stuck with her after spending so much time around the gypsies.

Soon, she saw the woman who had been swimming stride up to them with a warm, friendly smile. "Good morning," she said in a melodious voice.

Sinopa returned the smile. "Good morning to you, as well," she spoke. "I'm called Sinopa. Do you two have names?"

Tilting his head, Jelani watched as another man, one he hadn't sensed before, came into his line of vision. Over the scent of the morning and saltwater, he could faintly mark the new presence as one of his own. The women he couldn't get a good sense of, but there was no reason to worry over that matter. At a stoop, he watched the three come together, starting to feel restless. He loved meeting new people, and here were a whole three, friendly as ever!

Jelani stood and neared the three, grinning. He noticed that they'd already started talking, and instead of feeling left out, found it all a better reason to introduce himself. "Mornin' all, ladies," he greeted, smiling at each person in turn. His voice was light-hearted and big, and he bounced on his heels as he spoke.

OOC;  No worries, .: ||Kaiyira|| :.~! (Also! Are we gonna just let Oceanix jump in when she can? An Idle question~)

Wragna really doesn't like the beach. Nor does he like sunrise. He's more of the night forest guy...wolf. But the other two dragged him to the beach for whatever reason. He reluctantly agreed, but as soon as he arrived he set off to a shady spot under a tree, to emulate the night forest feel. Except there was sand. Lots of sand. And no grass. This saddened him. Not as much as foxes anger him, but close. Wragna was in human form, which he had been for over a year now because his traveling partners made him stay that way while with them. If he ever turned to wolf around them, they would abandon him. As much as he would love to be alone again, he couldn't say he hated their personalities.

He looked out over the ocean, thinking fondly of the taste of rabbit. "Yumm... He hadn't had raw rabbit in so long...his human body couldn't take it. Many times he'd been tempted to use his illusion magics to trick the other two so he could transform and have some, but he didn't want to deceive them like that. The fact he wanted to keep his magics a secret also kept him from doing that. Wolves have an interesting ability to sense magic use.

Wragna looked over to where his companions were at and caught the glimpse of 2 others he did not recognize. They weren't like him that's for sure. He noticed someone beckoning for him to come over and he shook his head. They beckoned again. Did he not see me or is he just an idiot? He stood up and walked out of the shade and yelled.

"NO!"

The sun cast the shadow of a burly wolf for a split second.

(OOC: No problem. ^-^)
Everybody seemed nice enough, Faolan noticed. He allowed himself to relax, although he found himself wondering exactly what the lady who had just joined them was. With her blue eyes and pale hair, she had the coloring of a northern wolf or a husky.

“Morning, he told the rest with a genuine smile. “I’m Faolan. The name meant ‘little wolf’, and he’d chosen it himself a few years ago. He studied Jelani curiously; he had not thought that there were that many of their kind left. The northern packs he’d run with had only halfbreeds, several of whom, he freely admitted, were his fault. The Yoreiq packs had several, but they’d been down right hostile.

His nostrils flared as he scented not just one, but another three of their kind. What were the chances of five of them all gathering on one small beach in the middle of nowhere? Of course, it was possible that the four strange wolves were a pack.

He beckoned towards the stranger to join them, making his motions more insistent when the wolf seemed to refuse. He stopped upon hearing the vocal refusal. With a sigh, he looked back at the trio, hoping that no one else had noticed the changing of the shadow.

Kaiyira smiled at the three, and was not slightly, but immensely surprised as many more individuals could be seen on the small stretch of sand. She tilted her head, golden gaze flickering to each person present. There were so many, even she almost had a hard time gathering herself. There were a few groups even, and some people had been called over form different areas. She almost couldn't remember the current conversation. Had she introduced herself yet. She decided to, even if she already had, at least for those just coming. She tried to sound like her introdution could go either way, as if it were the first, or the second time, so she wouldn't look stupid. "Hello, my name is Kaiyira, and you all?" she asked politely.
