after his long trek from his homeland, Daigan arrived and immediately began his search for new and interesting business. Hearing of the prospect of jobs at the Adela Castle, he made the last leg of his trek up to the entrance. Noting the presence of the guards watching him and the table of weaponry behind one of the guards, Daigan thought it best to unsheath his weapons and leave them here before entering.

upon entering the castle, Daigan looked and watched each nook and cranny of the castle, as instinct of a rogue such as himself. keeping silent as to not disrupt the tranquility of the place, Daigan searched for a man he heard mentioned, Vincent.

There was an awkward sense to the day that Shonsou didn't seem to take much of a liking too right away. Even his footing was off. His left hand clenched tightly around his right one, the white glove on it torn and a red liquid changing its color. There was a shine in his eyes as he watched his blade hit the dirt. The golden hilt and the amethyst gem speckled with dirt dust. Those pale green eyes of his didn't seem to show any kind of disappointment. Rather, a sense of pride that his squire was getting the handle on swordsmanship. And to think he wasn't given his apprentice any easy gaps for a clean attack. Shonsou was getting rusty.

He was young, appearance-wise anyhow. A look of being in his mid-twenties possibly. His skin was pale and smooth, no imperfections visible on his face; the only skin that was shown. Pale green eyes showed wisdom and knowledge beyond the years he appeared to be. To add onto his youthful looks, long golden locks of blond hair fell down to his waist. And to add to it even more, he didn't dress like a knight. No armor or chainmail. Nothing of the sort. His attire was a dark emerald color. His jacket that fell to his feet, pants, cape, belts -- all the same color and with the same gold-tinged hems at the edges of the material. And the undersides of the cape and the jacket were a cream color silk.

Then again, he appeared too young. He had his secrets. Those of which he had never told a single fellow knight, or a member of Adela's royal family for that matter. It was none of their concern of what he was. So he wouldn't bother to tell them unless it cam up and was a issue of retaining their trust further. Nodding his head, he dismissed his apprentice and reached down for his dirt-covered blade. With a flick of his right wrist, ignoring the cut and blood, the dust drifted off the blade and he quickly resheathed it at his left side.

"Another for the kingdom," he spoke softly to himself after taking in the sight of Daigan. He didn't miss much that went on around the castle, especially those of which that were new. Those ones he caught on very quickly. His white boot-covered feet carried his form over toward the newcomer swiftly, kind of like he was gliding over the ground. He had regained his footing, and natural movements; risky for doing such.

"Who do you seek business with?" Shonsou questioned Daigan, his voice deeper than one might have thought for him. It was something he had to grow used to himself after a long period of time. Yet being what he was, it was soothing to a hurting soul, and to anyone who couldn't see him for what he truly was. Shaking off the thoughts he had previously, he dropped his right hand to his side and behind his leg slightly to keep the bloodied glove and the cut out of sight.

noticing the that the person speaking to him did not match the description of Vincent, Daigan began to contemplate the different situations he could have before him, taking each scenerio in mind and looking for escapes and advantages all the while.

Not sure how to respond to the question, as to trust this person or not, Daigan responded
"I am looking for a Vincent who I am to see in search of an open position working at the castle, would you know where i could find him?"

Anonymous

Shonsou narrowed his gaze a bit, avoiding eye contact with Daigan. It wasn't unusual for him to do such, he avoided making eye contact with everyone. They didn't know looking him in the eyes wasn't the smartest thing for them to do. So to keep himself even more concealed and secretive about what he was, he was the one avoiding looking into other people's eyes. He was very much aware of what he was, and didn't intend harm upon others. Always looking out for the wellfare of those around him and not himself. That was good ol' Shonsou for you.

"Vincent, eh?" He brought his hand from behind his leg and folded his arms over his chest, knocking the gemmed golden medal that dangled from his cape and refracted light in Daigan's face on accident.

He knew of Vincent, but not him personally. Then again, he couldn't recall really seeing him face-to-face. Who had he really seen face-to-face anyhow? He was solo warrior and never took part in a group fight or anything of the sort. That's what made him stand out in what he did. He never counted on others and wasn't going to start. In the long run, he was more or less the enigma of the castle and just seemed to blend in where no one could see him.

"Did he request your presence? Offer you the open position himself? Or was it heard through the grapevine?" Shonsou wanted details. That's just how he was. He had to dig into everyone's business, he was cautious like that. Safety was the main concern in his mind even if it was prying in the end. "How good are you in a fight?" he asked clean out of the blue, no real reason behind it.

getting unnerved by the last question, Daigan looked more closely for an escape incase he needed one, no use in underestimating people and getting on the bad side of the city already. he noted the guards that he had seen earlier were probably still behind him. whether they were watching the exchange or not was beyond his knowledge. he kept in mind the way the pillars of the castle were made and any handholds he could use to climb in a hurry. he shifted his feet a little to tell him how loss the grit was and whether he could run fast or if he had to throw some to get going. the wind blew slightly and he had to brush some hair out of his eyes before he responded

"No, he hasn't requested my presence, and yes, i heard it through the grapevine per say. Might I ask who you are and what you do around here?"

Trying to recall how far back the table with his daggers were, Daigan replied to the unsettling question.

"I use stealth and sleight of hands to my advantage. However, as you have probably already noted, I am new to this city. I came from a land far away in search of adventure among other objects and ideals."

Daigan unbutton his vest with both hands and prepared to use anything he had in reach to give him time to gather his belongings.

Shonsou shifted his feet a bit, getting into a more relaxed stance; not offensive yet not defensive. Just comfortable for him. The thought of even fighting this new guy hadn't even crossed his mind. He was never aggressive, or started up a fight unless there was an absolute reason fueling him to do that. And sometimes he was too mellow for his own good. But a small semblance of a grin crept onto his lips as he took note that his final question caused this guy to become uneasy around him. Too bad he didn't know what Shonsou was on top of the quesiton. He shrugged his shoulders lightly.

He raised an eyebrow again. Who he was and what he did? There was no specific nature of what he did around the castle. Contrary to being a royal knight, he took care of the odds and ends that never seemed to get taken care of. Again, the enigma of the castle. Not much more, and not much more was known about him other than that alone.

"I am Shonsou Korsivik," he replied, his hands had fallen to his sides and he seemed to shift back into an upright stance. Common curtesy for presenting yourself to someone; something he went by. He couldn't speak for the others. "I'm a royal knight," he added. Somewhat not very believable from the way he was dressed, but it was so.

A calm snicker came from him as he watched the newcomer unbutton his vest. What did this youth think he was going to do? Attack him with his bare hands? What a laugh that seemed to be to him. Shonsou gave him the benefit of the doubt, though. It wasn't like he could go all-out on this guy and give up his cover. That was be a very foolish choice on his behalf.

"Refasten your vest, there'll be no need for a fight. I was simply inquiring, nothing more." He nodded his head assuringly. There was going to be no fighting against him. Right now, anyway. If there was an order to do so, that was another story. But for now, both were safe from any harm. "Do you wish to seek out Vincent on your own, or will a guide be acceptable?" Shonsou turned his back to Daigan, his cape rippling in the air behind him and his sheathed blade smacking against his leg as he looked back over his shoulder after asking the question.

OOC: i feel like it needed explaining what i was going to from the character's perspective anyways. the unbuttoning of the vest wasn't something like what would normally be thought. From Daigan's view, if he saw a threat against him he would snap the vest off and flourish it towards the threat, causing a distraction. after releasing the vest, he would run towards the pillar, grabbing hold of it above him, taking a look behind to see if the threat followed, he would spin kick off the pillar and continue towards his dagger

just thought i'd throw that out there

ICC: buttoning his vest back up as requested, Daigan took a step towards Shonsou
"A guide would be most appreciated. And i meant no disrespect by unbuttoning my vest...being new to these parts, one can never be too careful."

taking in Shonsou in a different light, as being a royal knight, Daigan watched Shonsou's gait to see for any sign of how long he may have been a knight. remembering his manners, he added
"And my name is Daigan Nisdefair of the land Ru'sang. I assume one would call me an acrobat of sorts."

Anonymous

Giving a nod of his head, Shonsou dismissed it as if it had never happened. He didn't take things offensive easily, so there were no hard feelings nor a reason to hold onto the moment in his memory; which was filled with so many other things that had embedded themselves there. A guide he was to be. Another shift into something else that wasn't quite a position filled. And at this rate he might just be considered a shapeshifter rather than a knight. Either way, it kept him occupied and from thinking freely. In the long run that was a good thing.

"Don't fret, there was no disrespect at all. Just be careful, though. Others might not be able to read your movements so easily."

He motioned his right bloody white glove-covered hand in the direction toward the main corridor of the castle. It was time to head inside to find this Vincent that Daigan was seeking. Turning his head, he gazed toward the main doors before he actually started to move toward them. Two guards went to pry the doors open, but he just waved them off, pressing a hand to each of the doors near the crevice where they met and pushed them inward to open up.

There was no hesitation to start inside the castle when there were only enough room for him to actually slip through. Ten paces and then he turned on his heel to give his side profile to Daigan. "Welcome to Adela Castle. Home of King Akkiel and Queen Lykoth. As well as Princess Arelnath, Prince Dorian, and the many knights and guards of Adela . . ." His voice kind of trailed off as he gave Daigan time to take a look around the main corridor. Man, he did feel like a low-paid tour guide. Thank the gods he wasn't, there was no way he'd get used to it.

Vincent was just kind of meandering aimlessly about, waiting anxiously for Lykoth to return from the Great Hall. She was meeting King Akkiel for the first time today, and he couldn't help but feel a little fidgety for his older cousin. Hopefully the old king would be pleased with what she'd accomplished so farâ€"she'd put in a lot of hours; there'd been times when he'd literally had to drag her to her chambers to get some rest. Of course, maybe some of his anxiety could have been eased if he'd actually gone into the Great Hall and witnessed whatever it was that was going on, but he'd seen a lot of noblemen and women flocking to the area, and he already had his fair share of stuffiness working here.

Lykoth could deal with the politics. He was content mingling with the soldiers and commoners and handling the criminals.

It was then, as he was pacing around, debating whether he wanted to go outside for a breath of fresh air or wait here for the meeting to end, that the castle doors were opened to admit two men, one of which was clearly marked as an Adela knight and the other of which...looked like a commoner. Which wasn't a big deal to Vincent at all. Hell, if he didn't have to look as "noble" as his lineage declared while within the castle, he'd wear a commoner's clothes all the time! But when he wasn't rooting out riff-raff, and when there was a big castle event going on, he had a responsibility to dress accordingly and properly represent the castle, itchy collars and all, no matter how much it bugged him.

He paused in mid-step and looked inquiringly over at the pair, and was just able to catch the tail-end of the knight's speech. A small smirk curved his lips. Wow, since when had the castle become a tourist's attraction?

In any case, there were really only a few reasons he could think of that a knight would be escorting a commoner through the castle. Either he was a grave criminal who's crimes were so great that they required the immediate attention of the monarchsâ€"which it certainly didn't appear, given the lack of manacles and overall friendliness and allâ€"or the man was seeking something. Obviously, it was the latter.

Turning around to face them fully, short red braids swaying with the action, he cleared his throat. "Ah...can I help ya?" He decided to just ask that simple question, and he knew it wasn't exactly a proper greeting, but oh well.

Only half listening to Shonsou, Daigan admired the intricately carved columns and the ornate carpet running along the castle floor leading further into the large lobby area. Looking back towards where he left his daggers with the guard one last time, Daigan stepped over the threshold and knew this was the start of a new adventure, a new page in his book.

Searching the hall closely, taking in all the sights to b seen. He heard a voice, seeming to speak to him and the knight, say: "Ah...can I help ya?" and Daigan turned his attention to the inquistor. Yes...yes, this was Vincent. Daigan reached into his vest and pulled out a piece of parchment, took a brief look at it to confirm that this was Vincent and replied

"Yes, i think you can help me." Daigan approached Vincent directly and continued "My name is Daigan Nisdefair and i am here because i heard of a variety of jobs open at this palace. I was curious as to if you might have use of a..." Daigan paused for a brief second as he thought to himself what to call his profession, he wasn't about to go into detail about the doings of his previous "troupe" and the business he was in.

"...an acrobat with the talents of a..." Pausing again, he thought of how to explain his knowledge of locks and traps "...locksmith."

Daigan pushed the parchment back into his inside vest pocket and stood comfortably

Ah, a relief. That was good, Shonsou didn't proceed to give out anything more that would sound like a tour guide. He couldn't help but slightly snicker as he thought, Adela Castle: Tourist Attraction. Definitely not a thought that he would have any other time, but for some reason he couldn't help it. Starving sometimes has a great influence on the thoughts he had, yet he managed to keep it hidden under dark wraps this far. There wasn't going to be a slip or rift in the cover anytime soon.

His gaze moved up to meet Vincent's. Hm, familiar in a sense. Then again everyone looked a little familiar in some way. They all seemed like food. He shook his head a bit, those strands of hair drifting over his shoulders. Bad thoughts, bad. Resting a gloved hand on his forehead before Vincent asked his question, his back buckled and he stood upright. Yes, he knew someone of higher rank. Not by sight, there was just something that couldn't be seen about them and Shonsou could pick it up. Whatever it was, it didn't matter. All he was that he could tell; even in disguise. It was always evident.

"He's here about an open position," he cut in quickly just before Daigan got his introduction in. Or was it just as he started to introduce himself? Who knew. No one for that matter. Shonsou's lips hadn't even moved to form the words, and Vincent was the only one to be able to hear what he had just said . . . If it could be called that anyway.

A sigh passed his lips, that was the only vocal sound he made for the both of them to hear, and anyone else around. For some reason the combination of 'acrobat' and 'locksmith' just didn't seem to go too well within his mind. But you never know, some of the most useful things come in the strangest ways. Take what you can get. So he believed. And right now, he was ready to steal a meal. Much like any other human, he could feel his stomach rumble and the sound of muscles pushing against each other.

Empty.

It had taken a while to develop that again, it wasn't easy. He never wanted to seem out of place, or particularly odd in a crowd of people waiting to eat. It was hard to force, but it was manageable. Clearing his throat a bit, his head slightly tipped down in respect to Vincent before looking from him to Daigan and nodding gently. "I shall take my leave if I am no longer needed."

Anonymous

turning his attention to Shonsou when he heard him ask of his leave, Daigan quickly asked Shonsou:

"Oh, and I might be able to find you where? I might need more assistance later when i find myself lacking. If I wouldn't be too much of a bother, of course."

Daigan could never know when he might need information on various subjects within the town and this Shonsou seemed like a kind enough fellow. He asked those...questions...that were most unsettling for a newcomer, and knew it wasn't common of one to ask that of another on a first meeting. Either way, he had a nagging in his mind to keep in touch with this person, Shonsou had the potential for a wealth of knowledge.

Another point he made to himself as he waited for an answer from both Shonsou and Vincent was that even if things didn't go so well at the castle for a job, he might have to find some way to learn more things about this city to get acclimated

Anonymous

On his heels and ready to turn and leave when Vincent gave the okay for it, Shonsou turned his green eyed gaze back toward Daigan as he asked a question of him. Hm, he was starting to think that he might just be more useful as the castle tour guide. Nah, he wouldn't submit this wonderful castle to that level of mediocrity. This place was great, and had treated him well since his arrival who knows how long ago. It wasn't subject it to any level lower than what it was; only to a higher level would he make it if possible.

He wanted to let out a sigh, but that wouldn't be very becoming of him; especially before a superior nonetheless. That would be such a disgrace to himself that he wouldn't do it no matter how bad he wanted to. Talk about the self control of a man with a golden heart despite what he was. How sad that truly was.

"I should be outside where we first met, probably training my squire some more if he's up for another round. If I am permitted to take my leave," the green clothed knight replied softly.

Sunlight peered through the castle windows, striking his pale skin and making it look even more ghastly than it was. His hair appeared almost as ghastly as his skin, but cloud cover over the sun brought his features to be more humanlike now that he didn't have light beaming down on him. If only they knew, but they would never. Not if he was able to prevent it anyhow. And he'd do anything to secure his secret. Usually that 'anything' of his honestly meant 'anything and everything' in the long run. Survival was priority, and this was the only safe haven he had for the time being.

Rhindeer

"Yeah, ya can go," Vincent told Shonsou with a nod. Probably not a proper dismissal, but Vincent had never been one for all that fluff unless he was absolutely required to be. Nah, he was more earthy, and he liked it like that. Noble? High rank? Bah. Only in looks, blood, and name, really...noble only in the superficial crap, but wasn't that how nobility worked anyway? It was superficial.

Weren't most people?

With that said and taken care of, he turned his attention back to the man that had originally inquired of him, sweeping his eyes over him indifferently but casually. "So..." he began, pushing his hands into his pockets and gazing into Daigan's eyes. "Acrobat with the talents of a locksmith, huh? Sounds int'resting." Then, leaning in a bit closer and lowering his voice so that only the man could hear, asked more directly, and bluntly, "A thief?"

Nope, Vincent wasted no time cutting to the chase. But, realizing that question might freak out the man, especially given the poor guy was standing right in the center of a bloody castle, quickly added, "Don' worry. I ain't gonna clap ya in irons or anything. I was just curious, is all. Anyway, to answer yer question...yeah. We could find a use for someone with yer skills."

Tyber hadn't had a bad day, even so he had been trying to organise a party or rather a gathering of the Royal Family of Adela so he could get to know all his cousins better. Even so he didn't know all of his cousins and they still lurked round the castle.

Anyhow he was stomping around the castle for one reason, he couldn't get a reliable caterer. He was walking along the Dining Hall, towards the Main Hall he looked as his step-mother's cousin, was talking to another man

He walked up and stood beside him

"Are you ok?"

Anonymous

[yay! i'm back from training and things have quieted down enough....but i'm afraid i can't quite do this post with the justice it deserves, sorry (i've got RP mind cramp)

Taken aback by Vincent's abrupt question, Daigan blinked a few times as he thought of how this could go down. Whether or not there were good odds that admitting to being a thief could help him.

While Vincent was still near enough for a whisper, Daigan replied:
"I wouldn't exactly call it that as I have never actually stolen anything permantly. Everything was returned in it's previous condition or better than before."

Hearing the footsteps of someone drawing near and a question asked of Vincent from this newcomer, Daigan drew a step back from Vincent. and glanced at the new sight. Daigan took note of the finery that the man wore who stood beside Vincent but he wasn't sure if what he wore made him a noble of the court or of the royal family. Darting his eyes back towards Vincent's direction, he waited to see if he should introduce himself or if that would not be needed.
