"So they travel during the day..." thought Eihmo'tei. He was (mostly) calm now, and he gave a soft smile and a nod to confirm that he had understood (or so he thought).
The Zerdani did not think it was wise to travel during the day, but then again, the two were still alive. That is the best indicator that they know what they are doing, so he decided to trust their decision. He was able to tell that the bat lizard would fly, which was... obvious...? The Zerdani thought it a better idea if he and Kiara could walk under those massive wings for cover against the sun. Lizards were better equipped than they were for direct exposure to the sun anyway. It can't be helped if the huge creature wanted to fly off. It was not his place to say what his new friends should and should not do. Eihmo'tei would follow, because he trusted that his new friends knew what they were doing.
A new thought popped into his mind now. The sun would be up in a few hours, and that is when they would move. He had been up all night! He needed rest for tomorrow, and he had little time to do so. He considered digging a makeshift burrow, but it was too much work, and too time-consuming. Out in the open was normally a horrible idea, but with two giants around, it should be fine. He circled the fire until he found the perfect spot to dig a bed in the sand. Lowering himself down onto his haunches, he put the strange thing which Kiara had given him (which he was still holding) in his mouth in order to free up his hands.
When he did this, the Zerdani froze. Slowly, he removed the strip from his mouth and analyzed it. He had never tasted anything like this before. It burned his tongue, but, at the same time, it was... pleasant. He licked it again. And again. Then he bit into it and struggled to bite a piece off. It was meat, and it tasted amazing! He spent the next few minutes greedily shredding apart the dried meat.
