Leland raised his hand to backhand the elf. "You are in no position to make threats, now shout up before I lay you out."

With that he walked into the shallows, the water coming up to his waist.  The two guards followed suit. The each took up a position on either side of the prince so he couldn't run any.

The beast man lead to way down stream abut 200 yards before stopping at a steep embankment covered in vines. Pulling the vines back he revealed a small cave opening. With at helt of his dagger he knocked out a coded message on the rock wall before entering.

Besach thought about the question for a moment.

"Most of the countries are monarchies but there are a few free cities which are rough places or so I've heard. Beyond that I'm not much help. I've spent a lifetime avoiding society." The replied with a small shrug

Nykole was so angry she could barely see straight. She focused all that energy into digging out the sled. The continents of the sled was haphazardly throw on either side of the pit.

Having dug down to the sled she then dug a ramp to pull it up and out of the hole.  Exhausted she collapsed on her back. Her anger Having burnt itself out.

Lucius came and sat next to her.  "You ok" he ask. He wasn't used to seeing her get so upset.

"I'm just peachy" Nykole mumbled as she drifted off to sleep.

"We don't have time for this" Leland growled at the elf. He grabbed Kasolin by his shoulders and tried to throw him into the river.

Besach sat across from Connor "the world as a whole is called Earth, we are on the southern tip of the continent of Le'naara.  What about your world?" They ask now curious.

Nykole roared "you bet your ass I'll pull the damn sled by myself." Her voice quivered with anger but she managed to bring her voice down "Now you can leave if you want but I doubt you would make it far." With that she turned and started digging some more.

Leland sent all be two of the men back to camp. To the pair that remained he instructed them to take their prisoner to someplace called the river cave.

Leading the way they set back off through the woods until they came to a small river. "In you go, and try not to trip and drown" Leland said as he pushed the prince forward.

Besach lead the way up to the cave's mouth which was on the face of a outcropping. A small stream trickled out and down the slope.

"You'll be fine, now make yourself comfortable while I get a fire started" they said as they climbed the slope to the cave.  Inside was a stash of firewood and a flint and steel.  Soon a inviting fire graced the entrance to the cave.

Pausing to catch his breath, Soules was startled but the soft voice at his side. He had been so focused on the cloaked figure that he didn't notice her approach.

"What are you doing out here? It could still be dangerous." He ask with concern.

They picked their way through the jungle navigating the overgrown trail. What little sun light that did reach the jungle floor was starting to turn orange then red.

"Suns setting, we need to pick up the pace if we don't want to sleep out in the open." They remarked as they started to walk faster.

"All I'm asking for is one day to rest and get the sled dug out." She didn't mean to raise her voice but she did. "We have to get things in order. Rushing off without supplies or a plan will get us killed."

It was three or four day to the nearest hot spring if the stayed on course which was nearly impossible without a compass. They were tired and weak from exhaustion, did Kat really expect them to just move on carrying all their gear.

Besach only knew of one type of kobold. "The dragon worshipping lizard ones" they replied. "They worship a pair of dragons known as the emerald twins but I've never seen them" they added

Soules was at a full sprint when Douzen passed him. He tried to catch up but was already giving it his all. "Here boy" he called after the dog.

He drew his sword as he gave chase. The figure disappeared around a corner. He slowed down as he came to the blind corner.

"You just need some rest, we had a long night, you have to be exhausted." She flopped back onto her back and let out a tired sigh. "I know I'm exhausted"

Besach took them back to the trail they had been following before the attack. At a brisk walk, they led them down the trail.

"Besides humans, elves, and demons, there are dwarves, kobolds, and many types of shifters, people that can turn into animals." They thought for a moment "We might run into some kobolds actually. They have many small villages in the jungle."

Leland turned to the other men. "Biggs, Wedge pat him down for weapons and valuables" he commanded. The two burly men joined the first two and started to search him.

Taking the medallion he turned to the youngest one in the group, a small urchin of 12 or 13.  "Timmy take this medallion to the palace, tell them we have to prince and to expect our demands shortly."

The elf tried to make a run for it but the two nearest men reached out and grabbed his arms to catch him.

"There are a lot of diversity here, I think you can find a place to fit in." They said with a reassuringsmile.  "Do you want to rest or are you go to keep going, I would like to make it to a cave I know before night fall." They asked.

Big as they were it was still dangerous to be caught out in the open at night.

"Stay away from the windows and I'll be back as fast as I can" he ruffled Douzen's ears before turning and rushing down the stairs.

In the street chaos still rained. The gatehouse was now fully engulfed in flames. As he approached the heat was oppressive.

Out of the corner of his eyes he saw a robed figure disappear down a alleyway. He turned and gave chase.

Kykole laid on her back gnawing on a bit of hardtack. She sat up when Kat said sorry. "What are you saying sorry for, you have been most helpful."
