PLAYER WANTS

What are your favorite kinds of plots and relationships to play?

Give me intensity, give me laughter, give me tears. A story that does all of that have been my babies. I'm a stickler for writing different genres. Just because we're in a medieval-ish high fantasy setting doesn't mean we cannot write mystery/Noir, horror, RomCom, dystopian, or ethics-themed RP, within the setting.

I like plots that get one thinking what the characters are doing to influence the environment they're in, how the interweaving of their wants/goals/personalities/interconnections would take things. How the environment affects the characters, what they do given the stress tests. All that and how things would pen out.

I also enjoy light-hearted slice-of-life banters. Verbal sparring, challenges. It's boring if all the people just agree with each other, all the time.

What are your least favorite kinds of plots and relationships to play?

Two-dimensional characters. Plots that are "telly" rather than "showy". Too much exposition, although I can see them as necessary in some places. I dislike plots that move mechanically, or plots that require all the effort of moving the story forward fall on me. Give me something to work with! Uncovering in a (shown) passage a simple hidden trait of a character is a good way to nudge the action forward. Feel free to throw spins, shake things up, when we don't expect it.

What are your favorite character types to play?

Flawed people. Edgy personas. Funny people. Wantonly emotional people. I see beauty in most people even if they don't see it in themselves. Nobody is perfect or good, all the time. Real people have vulnerabilities, failings, and those are themes I'd love to explore.

However, what I do find myself utterly uninspired by are characters with a perfect face, a charmed life without any major failings to speak of, both of the above. Characters without a "flavour" to them do get stale.

Are you a planner or a pantser? Do you prefer to pre-plan and stick to a script when posting, or do you prefer to surprise and be surprised?

Unless we're writing a Mystery, I don't think a thorough plan is required. For most RPs a general outline is good enough, and then let their characters organically develop though their interactions with each other. After all, the best plans sometimes get thrown out of the window because the characters, who have come to life, decided they didn't want this plan. *shrug*

How do you feel about group threads?

They're wonderful and I like em', though sometimes they suffer badly from being dragged down by less responsive members of the group.

How often can you reply to any given thread? How long should a partner wait before nudging you for a post?

I usually get to a reply in 2 or 3 days. One week tops. If I don't reply in 2 weeks, feel free to send a nudge.

What is the longest you're willing to wait for a reply to a thread?

2 weeks? A month? Sometimes RL catches up to a person and we can't help it. RL always comes first, period.

How do you feel about instant messenger RP?

Love em' :)

How do you feel about post volleying/rapidfire RP?

(Where you and another player post rapidly back and forth in a thread with each other.)
Reasonably, if it fits, it goes. :)

What's your preferred posting style? Long posts? Short posts? Anything and everything?

Could work with that. A post should be as long as it Needs To Be. If length is required, like for setting the story, then length is expected. Normal people don't notice all the fine details in a hectic scenario, or an action sequence. Realistically, the mind takes in the central information that is most important at the moment. In the middle of a swordfight for example, it is unrealistic for a character to notice a certain mole on his opponent's neck. In an erotic scene however, he just might notice the mole.

Any RP styles/habits that you love?

Movie-style. Picturesque. I like imaging the scene in my head and writing what I see in my mind's eye, sometimes to the specifics of camera angles, lighting and so on. I enjoy drawing inspiration from Christopher Nolan's works, character ideas from RL people, biographies.

Character-wise, I like to put a bit of myself into each one of them. And then another trait that I personally would find repulsive or would not endorse, to avoid self-inserts. As a moral person, this can be shocking to people, but I imagine the fallout would give players plenty of material to work with.

Any RP styles/habits that you avoid?

Self-inserts. Author-inserts. I tend to have no problem if somebody does it, though if they get personally offended by a jibe from a character of mine, it becomes a problem; so we gotta be aware of that. As a rule, I avoid Mary Sues, unless as a lampshading or they have a purpose being there apart from wish-fulfilment. "Perceived" Mary Sues, on the other hand, can be fun to work with, either as a rival or a tool to get deeper in key characters.

PLAYER LIMITS

What are you limits regarding powerplay/godmoding?

(For instance, do you mind if someone grabs your character? Picks them up? Punches them?)
A punch or a slap is fine. Nothing that maims or kills my character. If an attack is launched that could seriously injure my character, I prefer you leave it open ended and let me decide how it goes. Two major attacks per turn are realistic. More than that, however, is usually unreasonable.

Little to no restrictions if it concerns NPCs.

What are your limits in regards to romantic situations?

(What are you comfortable with and not comfortable with? Do you prefer to pre-plot relationships or let them happen organically? Are you open to IC-rejection or love-triangles? Age differences? Etc.)

Organically, usually. If you see a potential somewhere, just drop me a PM.

What are your limits with regards to graphic content such as sex, violence, drug use, sexual assault, etc? What is your comfort level?

As a rule, the other writer of any M-rated content has to be of legal age (18 or above). I don't have a problem using incest as plot-drivers. Outright child porn is off the table, though "implied" traumas are OK. Foremost, graphic content has to be written in good taste.

What are your limits in regards to pregnancy within plots?
(Are you okay with pregnancy in plots? Miscarriages? Loss?)

I'm OK with those.

What about healing?

(For example, a blind character magically being able to see, a scarred up character having their scars repaired, etc.)

Within reason. It makes for bad story if a debilitating condition or trouble is fixed with the snap of a powerful character's fingers. Not a hard and fast rule though, if there's a reason for it and doing so does not kill the story, anything goes, really.

What about characters being transformed against their will? (Think vampires, werewolves, and magical spells.)

Same as above.

Anything else?
(Anything else you want to add that other players should know!)

Be as creative as you like with me. I like hyping about situations with other players, playing them out if it fits. Try to shock, thrill, excite, or write whatever feels good. Writing is my love and therapy, so the less OOC drama, the better.
