Ariznim was going to have to take a drastic measure. She was being followed, and she knew that there was no escape. She dashed through the streets of Essyrn, her pursuers not far behind. She sharply turned a corner into an alleyway. She only had a few minutes, but she hoped that would be long enough. Even though she could fly, they would still track her, she knew. They were after her for a circus, and the mosquito girl was not going to give in.
She started her transformation. It took all of her concentration, and the world faded away from around her. Her arms and legs became covered in scales and spines, and her body became segmented, another pair of arms started to grow, her wings grew larger and then, she started to shrink.
Five minutes later the transformation was complete.
The tiny mosquito buzzed around, looking exactly like a natural mosquito. Ariznim flew up and away just as the men chasing her rounded the corner. They looked around and then ran on, they didn't know of her power.
She couldn't stay in this form for too long, but now she needed to rest, the transformation had taken a lot out of her. She flew over the city, keeping a watch out for hungry birds, and then she flew down and into a large arena. The stands were full of screaming and yelling people. It wasn't very quiet, but she needed rest now.
She flew down into the arena, then looked around. She flew down a hallway and saw that there were cells all down it. She was incredibly hungry from her change as well, and she flew into the first occupied cell she came across.
Inside there was a huge muscled man with two bird wings, bird wings that were tied down. He was a gladiator, Ariznim thought. She knew that there was a risk of being slapped and killed, and Ariznim usually only bit animals, but the only animals around were rats, and they could easily kill a mosquito, so Ariznim took a chance.
She landed on the man's wing, and then crawled down to his skin, where she assumed would be harder for him to reach, as she was right in the middle of his back. Then she took a bite.
