The Terrin Mountains: To humans, they were supposedly an impassable mountain range.

But for a dragon, they were far from.

The rich deposits of rare ores were a treasure that any smart gem merchant (like Ain, of course) would be a fool to pass up. Besides, it certainly wasn't the first time she'd come here.

She alighted down in a small clearing, pine tree branches and evergreen boughs scratching at her tail tip and wings, glimmering like golden ore under the early afternoon rays of sunlight. Her long claws sent rocks scattering down the mountainside, and a great yawn escaped her jaws. A day of flying here from Adela often made her a bit sleepy, but she wasn't about to take any kind of nap--certainly not here.

Despite her size and prowess as a dragon, even someone like her wasn't safe here; the mountains in this country held all kinds of unforeseen horrors for anyone--magical beast or mortal man alike. Trolls, giants, wild animals, werecreatures, hunters... Mountains hid them well. The last thing Ain could afford right now was to let down her guard.

And so she set about her business, transforming to and from her human form, entering caves and gathering what she could to stuff inside of her bag. It wasn't until early evening that she was finished, changing for (what she thought) to be the last time to her dragon form for the day to grab a quick snack before heading back to Adela.

It was as she was sinking her teeth into a ram that she heard it; a lumbering giant's blood-curdling yell, and eerily close by. It sent shivers down her spine and she immediately snapped her head up from her dinner, listening closely before determining that it was too close by for her tastes. She decided that flying was likely too dangerous, as was changing into a human--if she was going to encounter a giant, she best do it as a dragon, and even that held its risks. A particularly large one could still bring her down.

Abandoning her meal, she slithered through the trees, trying to stick to the shadows and for once wishing that she didn't take such good care of her scales--they caught every hint of light and glistened like gems, it didn't exactly make for the best kind of camouflage. Thankfully, the distant she had to travel wasn't far; as her head broke through the edge of the treeline, she saw it, some several hundred yards away--a giant black dragon, unlike any she'd ever seen before, eating a dead giant.

Her jaw only dropped a little bit. Just a little.

Quickly, before she was spotted she retreated into the shadows of the trees, licking and swiping the blood of the ram from her mouth. She'd definitely heard of dragons getting that big before, she just... Didn't think they were still alive right now. And she'd certainly heard of draconian cannibalism before. And yet... Her curiosity sill seemed to overcome her fear by a great amount. She took another glance over at the great dragon, eyes narrowed as she looked them over.

She had a feeling that this one was a female; usually girls were far easier to deal with. And despite this dragon being at LEAST two times her own size... A flare of confidence ignited in her chest, enough so to push her from the trees, taking flight and landing on a large outcropping of rock above the giant's corpse. If the dragoness lifted her head, they would at least be seeing mostly eye-to-eye. If things went south... She could always run. Ain was fast, and this dragon couldn't possibly be with such a massive build.

She put on her best smirk, making sure that sunlight reflected off her scales in just a way that it made her seem extra pretty and sparkly--usually dragons didn't want to destroy things that were pretty and sparkly, they wanted to keep them. Alive, keep them alive. Usually. Probably.

"Well now, I've always said that I like girl who can take down a giant all on her own; you have no idea how rare it is to find pretty things like you, though." She said, curling her tail around her feet, sitting up straight out of respect for someone who could easily kill her if she made one wrong move.

Emilia had been soaring through the sky, looking for something to fill her now oh so empty stomach. Hunting for her was a bit more difficult, for the sole reason that most smaller prey couldn't possibly sustain her for very long, she needed something bigger and she needed it fast. Her massive frame seemed almost to heavy to be able to fly, but her massive wings were quick to correct that, with each flap of her wings the forests below heaved, and the villages begged that she would stay up there.

For those below it had seemed like the dragoness was flying in slow motion, her massive frame keeping her in sight more then any other dragon. Nothing could be further from the truth though, she was not slow, she was simply so big that smaller creatures automatically found themselves to be faster. Her head curved to the side and her wings abruptly folded, prey she muttered as she looked down, a relatively large giant lumbering along the side of the forest, although relatively large meant ''bite sized'' to Emilia. She flapped her wings one more time to stop herself from causing a quake when landing, shortly after landing with a hollow thud, her claws knocking over entire patches of trees. The giant of course noted and had begun to run and scream for help, it didn't help though, as the massive head of the dragoness simply slammed her jaws around his waist, dragging him back with the cries of only a dying creature could make.

She shook her head wildly, her teeth tearing through his flesh before throwing him to the forest floor with a loud thud. The giant lay there, barely alive. Just how she liked it. She noted the flapping of wings and turned her gaze up, suddenly eye to eye with another dragon. The dragon's words caught her off guard, honestly Emilia never was any good at that type of conversation but when someone found her killing exciting it just seemed extra awkward, if she blushed Ain would never know, her scales covered all the soft tissue on her body. In an effort to ignore the dragoness, she simply turned her attention to the giant at her claws, gently taking it in her mouth before throwing it into the air to turn its head to face her throat, then when he landed, she simply pushed him to the back of her mouth with her tongue, swallowing the giant whole, mainly out of laziness and wild hunger, but also because she preferred it that way.

When she felt the giant hit the walls of her stomach she turned her attention back to the other dragoness. She bared her bloodied teeth for only a moment, before finally deciding to speak. ''You are pretty brave.'' she simply said, her voice echoing and chaotic ''Most here know I'm not shy of eating other dragons...'' she paused ''Not to worry though, you'd put up too much a fight.'' she leveled her head to be direct with Ain's ''Conversation in this form is tedious.'' With that, she placed a claw on the mountainside with the other dragoness, her form began shrinking, scales slinking underneath human skin and cloth being pushed outward, before long she was a much smaller human, clasped in robes and the occasional bits of pieces of plate armor. She had figured that a conversation with her dragon form would hardly be comfortable, as such she had decided to swap into her humanoid form. She now had to look up, her blue eyes fixating on those of the other dragon's ''I think this is easier.''. She herself seemed largely un-moved by the size difference now, knowing full on well that she could change back at a moments notice. She ran a clawed hand through her blonde hair, simply waiting for what the other dragoness would do.

Yeesh, if anyone was having a bad day today, certainly that giant would take the award for Worst Day of the Year.

Ain just watched in respectful silence as the giant was flung up through the air, and then swallowed whole. By itself, had she faced it it likely wouldn't have been much of a problem, but it was still large enough that if she'd had her guard down, it could've been a huge pain in her ass. But to this other dragoness? Not so. He seemed barely more than a fly in comparison.

Finally, she responded, her voice howling and chaotic with the purple magic in her belly that seemed to be void magic; truly, this one was not someone Ain would ever want to get on the wrong side of. She swallowed her nervousness back again and forced her own heart to slow down its speed yet again.

The other dragon mentioned that being so large was tedious--I can only imagine, Ain thought--and changed into her human form.

Her golden eyes watched, transfixed as the giant dragon began to shrink in size until she was contained, in her entirety, in the form of a somewhat short humanoid girl with blonde hair and a pretty face that made Ain's heart skip a beat. She couldn't help but coo a little, clicking her tongue.

"Oh, my, and you're even more beautiful in the other form that you take. Truly you must not know how rare a treasure you are--if you were much more prettier than you are you might just make anyone who gazes upon you go mad."

She stretched and unfurled her wings, giving her head a shake and deciding to take a risk; she had never really practiced at transforming with clothing already on, because she rather liked her human form and enjoyed showing it off. But for the sake of not offending anyone, she concentrated this time. Long golden spines shook and shimmered, transforming into waves of luscious golden hair; scales shrunk back to reveal earthy, tanned skin, large breasts, small waist, big hips and long, muscular limbs. Cloth stretched out over her body and her usual outfit appeared, flattering yet functional.

She took a few steps forward, the heels of her boots clicking on the stone, hips swaying as she came to stand before the other dragoness--finding that in their human forms, she was a few inches taller than this stranger. She put a hand on her hip, shifted her weight and bowed to the other girl, smirking when she straightened back up, offering to take the other woman's hand in her own and kiss her knuckles if the gesture was accepted.

"My name is Ain, if I may be so bold as to inquire yours?"

Emilia flushed a bright red when the girl continued her complimenting, she wasn't quite used to being complimented so freely, mostly because everyone feared her wrath, not this girl no. She spoke with a confidence she'd almost grow jealous of, almost. ''Thank you.. I think?'' clearly not quite used to the current situation, Emilia did her best to keep her composure, closing her eyes for a moment.

Emilia let a sigh of relief slip as the girl inquired her name, this meant she had no idea who she was. So she wouldn't have to be overly dominant about the current situation. When she opened her eyes again she immediately looked down, the amble breasts of the other dragoness catching her off guard, she sighed taking a moment to compose herself before looking back up. This person was calling -her- beautiful? did they not own a mirror? she thought to herself, quietly and sneakily attempting to look at the woman's features, her hair in particular made a beautiful contrast to her tanned skin. She shook her head, why was she thinking about that? she isn't even human!

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity spend in her own mind, she re-focused, looking at the woman's extended hand. She knew what that meant, being the Queen of black hearth citadel many a person did that out of respect, but why would she? Again, she tried maintaining her composure and placed her hand in the woman's own hand. ''Ain huh? I am Emilia.'' she simply stated, curiously looking as to what the woman might do with her hand, while the other was tucked beneath her robes. All her previous savagery melted away for now, after all her stomach was full and she had no reason to be hostile to this woman... at-least so she hoped.
