Physical Description: Not much is known yet.  They have a androgynous form, though since they always wear lose clothing, their form is usually lost.  They wear a long, gray, woolen cloak with the hood up, and a tannish colored scarf around their head and face, revealing only their storm grey eyes.  Under they wear a gray robe that falls just under their calves, with large sleeves that are loosely gathered at the wrist.  They wear gloves and leather boots.  They tend not to blink very often.

Personality: Well, not much is known about Healin, so I don't know either!  Not yet, at least!  Once I play them some more I'll add here. EDIT:  Now I know that they are usually rather emotionless, though on bad days they let some feelings slip through, usually things like irritation, boredom, and sometimes slight aloofness.

Weaknesses: Unknown

Dislikes:Unknown

Magic/Abilities:They have powerful magic, and are able to stand harsh torture, as well as handle a sword with skill, though they carry no weapons on them.  Specifics are unknown

Family:Unknown

Friends:Unknown, but have allied with many over the years.

Commentary: As you can probably tell, a very irritatingly small amount of info is known about Healin.  I'll add more later, once I've played them some more!

Physical Description Elliot is a very small girl, she is slim and not very muscualr, but not skinny, and is fairly attractive physically.  Her eyes are wide and dark, her face is heart-shaped, and her skin is pale.  She has long, extremely straight, raven hair that reaches down just below her shoulder blades.  She wears a dark blue robe-like dress that reach down to mid-calf.  The sleeve's are long but straight, and the dress is hooded.  She almost always wears the hood up, especially when she's with other people and when it is light out.  She wears black leggings and mid-calf high boots.  She has a belt with numerous spell components and pouches secured to it as well as an amulet with the string tied around the belt.  She conceals a small dagger on a sheath in her sleeve, but she cannot use it very well.

Personality Very wary of all people, and she trusts no one.  It would be extremely hard to gain her trust.  She is very much like a mouse, timid and hesitant, always hesitant.  She's very quiet and she keeps to herself, almost always moving around at night.

Weaknesses She has extreme trust issues, but it's kept her alive so far.  Physically?  She's not very strong, and could not hold out in a physical fight.  She's not extremely good at using her magic in a fight, either, but she can i she needs to.

Strengths She is pretty knowledgeable about Dark Magic, and can mix potions extremely well.  She has a lot of textbook knowledge, and can cast spells, but she is better at doing this in a controlled environment, not during a fight.

Likes Magic, maybe other things.

Dislikes Is very scared of people, and she is completely alone in the world, she hates being alone, but she doesn't have the guts to do anything about it.

Magic/Abilities She knows a lot about Dark Magic, and is a very successful potions maker.  She could possibly summon a demon, but hasn't tried.  Though she does Dark Magic, she doesn't really do any of the too terrible stuff.

Family Her parents are dead, she doesn't know if she has relatives elsewhere.

Friends None

Foes None that are known of

History Elliot's parents were both broke when their daughter was born.  They lived in the slums, surrounded by filth and sickness.  Elliot grew up like that until she was seven years old, her parents both not really caring for her or caring about her.  Then the slums were started on fire by some crazy drunk or another, and Elliot's parents were killed in teh flames.  Elliot lived, and escaped the burning building with minor burns.  So she wandered the city, stealing when she had to, but she didn't even see it as wrong.  Then a year later a old man who said he was a wizard took her in.  For a while she just slaved for him, then he started to train her in the ways of magic.  Dark magic.  He died before her training was complete.  Well, she didn't knw if he died, but one day he just didn't come back.  He had lived in a nice house, but as soon as he had been gone for a few weeks, people started to come and steal from teh house, and Elliot was to afraid to stay.  So she packed up her few things and all of the spell and potions books and other magical things she could carry and she left.  She made a home for herself in a tiny building on the edge of the slums.  She has lived there ever since, sleeping during the day and doing her work at night.  She sometimes sells her potions, and though she gets little money, and only makes about two sales a month, that is how she makes her living.  She usually goes by her last name, Seerkin, though she very often doesn't need to use a name at all.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Keyne hissed threateningly, her body low to the ground as she and the other dragon circled each other.  The other dragon was larger than Keyne, almost two times as large, but instead of silver, as Keyne's scales were, his scales were deep gold and hishead was wreathed in a crown of horns.

He was the one who had provoked the attack.  Keyne had been flying over the grassy hills near the bottom of the Thunderblacks when he had shot out from behind a boulder and tackled her to the ground.  They were now both on the grassy hillside, boulders dotted around them.

Keyne lunged forward, crashing into the other dragon and sending him rolling backwards.  She latched her jaws around the back of his neck and dug in with her front claws.  He roared and twisted his head around, trying to shake her off as her back claws scrabbled at his back, scratching him.

He blew red fire at her, and she rolled aside to avoid being hit, but the back of his neck was bleeding now.  He leaped at her, and she jumped up into the air, flapping her wings to get out if his way.  He followed her up into the sky, and if there had been anyone watching it would have been an awesome sight.  The two dragons locked in combat, red and blue fire shooting all around them.  This fight was territorial, Keyne knew, and she had offered to leave, but the other dragon was intent on killing her.

The other dragon spun around in the air, his tail whipping around.  Keyne tried to roll out of the way, but the end of his tail hit her in the side, knocking the breath from her and sending her tumbling from the sky.  She hit the ground with a thud, and the other dragon dove down on top of her.  He landed on her hard, and brough his head back to sink his teeth into her now exposed throat.

His head descended, and Keyne brought up her from claws, scratching the other dragons eyes.  He screamed in pain, but continued to attack.  Keyne's head shot forward, her teeth sinking into the other dragons throat.  He thrashed around viciously, but she held tight.  Blood started to flow, and within seconds of that the other dragon was dead.

Keyne stepped back, and bowed her head to the other dragon respectfully before starting to clean the blood from herself.  She was sore from her fall, but she didn't want to rest next to the dead dragon.  She was about to leave when she heard a sound.  Footsteps.

As a dragon, she could hear fairly far, and the footsteps were still pretty far away.  Even so, Keyne stayed and waited.  From the weight and  gait of the person, Keyne assumed it was a woman, but she could not tell.   She wanted to see who this person was, and she knew they were coming in her direction, so she waited, listening all the while to the footsteps.

Draconi Forest / An Immortal Life

_____________________________________________________________________________

Seridin Grayfeather stood in the forest, completely silent, his hands to his sides and his face turned up, the dappled sunlight falling gently upon his blue-gray skin.  His eyes were closed and his blue-black hair fluttered in a light breeze.  The elf was standing in a sparser part of Draconi Forest, though the tree leaves and branches still covered the sky.

Dappled light filtered through the leaves and onto the forest floor.  Leaves covered the ground, and there was very little underbrush.  The trunks of the trees around the elf signifying the age and serenity of this part of the woods.

Seridin was meditating, and he had been for several minutes.  After a few more moments he opened his eyes and sighed as his life came rushing back to him.  It wasn't as if he led a terrible life, just a lonely one.  He hadn't had a close friend he could keep in all his life.  He had met many humans and befriended them, some had even been very close, but he outlived them all.  Even the children in the town where he sometimes stayed grew old and died.

Immortality was a blessing, some said, and many humans and other mortals wished for it, but living forever was also a terrible curse.  Many elves rejoiced in their longevity, but not Seridin.  He had been cast away from his kind, but even when he was with them he formed no lasting relationships, at least not good ones.

The Aether Elf cherished mortal lives, and envied them.

The elf was brought out of his thoughts by a noise not far off.  Most would not have been able to hear the quiet noise, but Seridin's elvish ears picked up even the slightest of sounds.

It was the sound of a footstep.

Seridin could feel the vibration in the earth as the being walked.  The footstep was far to light to be a human's.  He heard the sound again.  Definitely footsteps, and drawing nearer.  Seridin did not move, but he was alert, ready for almost anything.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Dergan Metalstone grumbled under his breath about all manner of things, from the weather being to sunny and warm to the name of the Provence he was in. "Featherfall, pftt!  What a ridiculous name!  No self-respecting dwarf would ever name a place 'Featherfall!  It sounds like an elven name if there ever was one!"

The truth was, the dwarf was not unhappy, he would just complain about anything that was not made by dwarves, and he would even complain about them sometimes.  If it was rainy, he would complain about it, if it was sunny, he would complain about that as well.

He was walking through a small town in, yep, Featherfall, Serendipity, but was on his way back home to Adela, his pack full of jewels.  He had traveled to Serendipity to buy gems for his metalworking.  A normal metalworker would not have traveled as far as Dergan had for a few gems, but the Firestones in Featherfall were the best, and Dergan used only the best for his work.  He had spent the whole week looking for the perfect gems, and now he had found them.

He was walking through the crowds of people, it was market day, so the streets were full, when he saw something beautiful.

Beautifully crafted jewelry.  While Dergan was a blacksmith, he was also a jewelsmith, and he knew fine craftsmanship when he saw it.  The dwarf made beeline for the stand.  He barely even noticed the elf who manned the stand, he was so busy admiring the jewelry.

LocationWanders, but has a small home in a small village in Serendipity.

__________________In-Depth Stuff

Physical Description Seridin has long straight hair that reaches a little above his elbows.  It's black, but when light shines on it its tinted blue, like a birds wing.  He has eyes so dark blue they almost look black unless you look closely.  He is fit, lithe, agile, strong but thin. He is attractive, and his skin is dark and blue-gray in color.  He wears black and blue-gray clothing, and his pants tuck into his tall black boots.  He wears no jewelry but a simple gray ring on the little finger of his right hand.  He carries two curved fighting daggers at his belt and a bow and quiver of arrows on his back.  Both the bow and quiver are dark blue, almost black.

Personality Not as arrogant as other Aether Elves.  Most Aether elves are completely driven by their goals and are ruthless in getting them.  Though they seem nice on the outside, they are ruthless and cruel.  They are also very conceited, thinking that all other races are below their own, that they are the best.  Seridin is not like that, he is more open-minded about befriending other species of beings, and is kinder.  He can work up a temper but he's usually pretty level-headed, sometimes has bursts of emotion.  He has a strong sense of community and he likes children.  In the town where his house is, he has befriended the children that live in the town.  The town is comprised of almost all humans, other than him.  He likes it there, but doesn't stay all year round, he travels a lot.  He is more often gone than at his home.

Weaknesses Sometimes things catch up with him, and he has to let it all out.  Has a weakness to cold iron.

Strengths Other than the above statement, he is a strong individual, mentally.

Magic/Abilities As a mix of both Shadow and Dusk elves, he has magical abilities from both sides.

Shadow Spell: Not a very creative name, but the spell casts a dark shadow over anything that the caster chooses.  The shadow cannot be lightened by any light other than a very powerful light spell.

Haze of Blindness: This spell causes the victim's vision to be filled with a golden haze, causing them to be temporarily blinded.

Shards of Night: Shoots sharp shadows at people, basically.  Like shards of glass made out of shadows.

Sleep Spell: Causes victim to fall asleep for up to two minutes.

Possibly a few other spells.
He can fight well with his daggers and with his body, and he can shoot a bow with considerable skill.  He can also see in the dark, as shadow elves can see in the dark and dusk elves can slightly.

Family He forgot them when he was banished from the Aether realm.

Friends The people of the town his home is in.

Foes None really

History Seridin was banished from the Aether Plane when he was 1'400, so he has lived in Le'raana for 400 years. He was cast out because of his radical views on humans and other species other than the Aether elves.  He was open-minded about other beings and not quite as arrogant as the other Aether elves, he didn't believe that the Aether elves were superior, he believed that they the other races were equal to them.  He thought that humans and other beings deserved respect.  As punishment, the other Aether elves banished him onto Le'raana, thinking that once he was there he would realize how awful it was.  Their plan backfired.  When he was cast onto Le'raana Seridin realized even more how wrong the Aether elves were, and how much he loved Le'raana.  The Aether elves had threatened to kill him if he ever returned to the Aether, but Seridin had never even tried, he was happier on earth.

But after four hundred years, Seridin started to become lonely.  He had made a few friends, with all different races, but he knew he would outlive most of them.  He outlived all of his human and other shorter-lived friends, and other long-lived and immortal beings he never made strong friendships with.

This is tagged to @Jounin64!  This is our plotting thread for Kirl and Nezhir!

I've sort of got an idea, but I'm totally open if you've got something better than this!  So, since Kirl is kind of an all around do-gooder lady, she could meet him by trying to stop him from doing something he was hired to do.  That's really all I have for now!  :P

Karishk pushed the man roughly forward. "I see that," she said harshly. "Don't try to twist your hands out of that rope or soon you won't have any hands."

She wouldn't really chop off the man's hands, but he believed it, he immediately stilled his hands.  The man was a vassal of a man named Thomas Heinfield.  The vassal had stolen money and other things from the town granary and then run off with it.  One of Heinfield's men had hired Karishk to capture the vassal and return him to the place where Heinfield lived.

The mission had been fairly easy, the vassal hadn't gotten far, he was not, by any means, an experienced criminal.  He was just a greedy man who wanted more money and thought he could easily get some.  It had taken Karihk only three days to get the man and bring him back, and now she had entered the gate to Heinfield's mansion and was walking up to the door.  She knocked, and a moment later the door was opened by the butler.

He nodded to Karishk when she identified herself and then called to another man, Robert.  Robert came and took the vassal away, for trial, to jail, Karishk didn't really care, she just wanted her pay, and she told the butler that.

"Come with me," he said, and led her into the house.  Karishk followed him down corridors, through doors, up stairs, and around corners until they came to a polished wooden door.  "Wait here," the butler said, and he stepped inside the room.

Karishk assumed that that was where this Thomas Heinfield was, but she wished this process woudl go a little quicker.  She just wanted her money so she could get out of here.  it wasn't as though she was uncomfortable in the mansion, it was just that she was bored, and she didn't really like rich people.  Many were born into riches, and didn't have to any work for it.  She had done her job, couldn't they just give her a pile of coins and she would go on her way?  Unless they had lied to her and weren't really going to pay her at all.

Karishk's hand immediately shot to her sword hilt.  That sort of thing had happened before.  She was hired, did the job, and then was cheated, often those who hired her tried to kill her afterwards to stop her from causing any trouble.  Obviously, no one had managed to kill her yet, and she didn't want to fight her way out of this job.  Her pockets were empty and she really needed all of the money she could get.

She looked up and stiffened as the expensive polished door opened.

__________________In-Depth Stuff

Physical Description Small compared to some dragons, but she is a very fast flier.  She has four legs and walks on all four.  Silver scales cover her body and she has two large silver wings.  She is slender and graceful, with a long pointed snout and a very long tail.  She has two webbed ears and two small horns on top of her head.

Personality Serene, but can be funny and playful sometimes.  She is kind, considerate, and shares a strong bond with her elven friend, Kilarhas Gindien   Very protective of him.  Instead of talking, she communicates by sending feelings and thoughts to those she chooses to, though she can speak in the draconian language.  When she comes across other dragons, she sometimes may get jealous if they are bigger and more powerful than she is, that is her biggest weakness, she also can get jealous of other beautiful creatures who are as large as her.

Weaknesses She is not quite as physically strong as some other dragons.  When she comes across other dragons, she sometimes may get jealous if they are bigger and more powerful than she is.

Strengths Though she's not super strong, she's very quick and agile.  She breaths ice, crystal shards, and blue fire.  She is most often confident and can calm people mostly of the time, if they are angry or riled up.  She is understanding and has a very strong heart and is strong-willed.  Very protective of Kilarhas.

Likes Wandering, Kilarhas, Fish, good beings.

Dislikes Evil beings, dragons who think they are great.

Magic/Abilities Quick, agile, communicates with her mind in the form of emotions, not words, has some draconian magic.  She and Kilarhas can call each other over any distance.  She breaths ice, crystal shards, and blue fire.

Family

Friends Kilarhas, and a few other she has adventured with.

Foes She has gone against evils in her time, and has numerous enemies, but none really very personal.

History She was born exactly the same time as Kilarhas, and they are bonded for life.  If they die of old age, they will die together, at exactly the same time, but if one would die of a wound or other means of death, the one that was not injured will live on to be as old as they would have been if the other hadn't died, that is to say, they wouldn't die then of the others injury.  She was born in the same kingdom that Kilarhas was born into as a prince.  She lived with him and left when he was banished.  He was banished for saving the kingdom against an evil.  Kilarhas went with some followers in the night and killed the evil against his father's orders.  His father wanted to let the evil take over to avoid conflict, but Kilarhas disagreed.  He and some other killed the evil but then his followers told the king later that Kilarhas had forced them, and only Kilarhas was exiled.  Keyne left with him, though they don't always travel together.

Ketra / A Wonderful Blasted Day! (Blaze Enderman)
August 03, 2015, 08:52:30 AM
The dwarf grumbled away as he hammered on his anvil.  The dwarf was complaining to himself about all the 'blasted people' who don't know about good metalworking.  They just didn't understand good craftsmanship!

Dergan was having a wonderful day.  Grumbling and complaining was what he nearly always did, and he was thoroughly enjoying himself as he hammered away.  His shop was set up so that there was a large  window looking out to the street.  There was no glass, but potential buyers could walk up to his shop, and look at his wares without even coming inside.  It was a stall built right into the building.

It was a sunny, warm day, but there was a cool breeze drifting in and cooling the dwarf as he hammered away in front of his hot forge.  he dipped the metal, that soon would be a beautiful sword, into a bucket of water and continued to grumble as it cooled, sizzling as hissing int he water.

He pulled it out and set it aside.  He was about to take the next piece when a costumer came up to the stand.  Dergan went over to her and sold her the pots she had been waiting for.

Then he went back to his forge and got back to work.

Answered Questions / Traveling Boards
August 02, 2015, 02:28:49 PM
Hi!

I've been wondering, if, in a thread, the characters travel from the land they started in, should I start another thread in the location they've traveled to?

Example:  My character starts in Essyrn, and I start the thread in the Essyrn Board, then they travel to Serendipity, should I start a new thread in Serendipity's board continuing the story?  That seems like a lot of work, especially if the characters are traveling all over the world, then one would have to change threads many times, possibly messing up the story, making it hard to find, navigate, and look back on.

Thank you!

__________________In-Depth Stuff

Physical Description It can be quite intimidating. Is made of black, gray, and blueish shadows.  It is a shadowy shape, somewhat in the form of a horse.  The shadows are always twisting and writhing and on the head of the horse shape it has two small red flames where the eyes would be.  It can be touched, and felt.  The feel is sort of solid, but also wispy and soft.  It has a core where the horse's heart would be.  It is a gray, smooth lump, flaming gray fire.  If it is touched, it will most likely feel cold, but it can heat itself.  Your hand would also sink into it a ways, until you hit a point where it would feel like smooth, slick rubber.  It communicates mentally, by sending words, thoughts, feelings, and pictures.

Personality Unknown, but though it is a demon, it's sole purpose is not to wreck havoc.  It mostly travels around, just being.  It is not good, and not evil, but at the same time, it is both.  It is a dark being, dark, but not necessarily evil.

Weaknesses It can be killed by some enchanted weapons, and it's heart is is it's most vulnerable place, though if the heart is struck, it is not guaranteed to kill it.  If the heart is struck by a normal weapon, it may be able to hurt, or even kill, it, though the demon may be able to destroy the weapon.

Magic/Abilities  If it were to charge, it could physically trample someone, as well as if it were touched it could freeze the person touching it.  The shadowy tendrils can also grasp things, acting almost as other limbs.  It can also cast shadows over things.  It can make its teeth sharp as well.  They are not like a horse's teeth, they are sharp and black, like the rest of it, and very strong.  It can also walk on water, as if it were land, though it can swim underwater if need be.  Can also travel to other dimensions.

Family None known

Friends None yet

Foes Because it is a demon, many good beings try to kill it.

Plotting Center / Thread with a Stowaway?
July 31, 2015, 06:11:23 PM
Hello everyone!

I have an idea for a thread, and though I haven't made a character profile for the character yet, I'll give you some information on them here.

The plot would take place on a ship.  My character would be a young human, age ten to thirteen, pretty innocent, still a child, and they would stow away on the ship unknowingly.  They would have snuck aboard to steal some food, as they were starving, and then they would have fallen asleep or something.  They are found later by the sailors.

I was thinking the sailors would be pretty mad, and then it goes from there!

As for a ship, a merchant ship or any other kind of ship would be fine, as well as pirates!  Pirates would be interesting, but not a must!

So pirate or sailor characters to fit with my stowaway, as soon as someone shows interest, I'll get a profile up for the stowaway!

If you have a question about the thread, feel free to ask and don't feel obligated in any way to have to thread this plot just because you asked a question!

Magic/Abilities Has a weird magic, not much is known about it, but it is powerful.  Also has an affinity with animals and magical creatures, especially monsters, creepy things, and creatures most people would deem 'evil'.  She also has the power to summon some demons.  This may sound like an extremely powerful skill, as demon-summoning is not considered easy, usually.  However, that is because when most magic-users attempt to summon a demon, the demon resists, the demon does not want to be summoned.  With Meerior, however, some demons are almost friends with her, and will come willingly if she only asks them.  Of course, not all demons are like this, but those that will come are there.

Notable Possessions: A small three-pronged fork, she says it is magical, but no one believes her.

Family: Unknown

Friends: None, really

Foes: None, really

History: Not much is known about her.  But she woke up one day in Essyrn with no previous memory of anything or anyone, and just went from there.

The rising sun cast a golden glow over the valley below, causing everything to look as though it had been touched by the heavens.  It was indeed beautiful, but Ariznim felt none of the warmth or happiness that the rising sun brought with it.

The mosquito looked down into the valley at the village below.  She was standing just within a forest, hidden in the shadows, the sun's rays reaching for, but not touching, her.  Th town wasn't far away, and Ariznim could see it waking up.  It was a market day, and the people were rising with the sun.  They were bustling about, setting up their market stalls, ready to sell their wares.  When the stalls were set up, more people started to filter into the streets.  Children ran and played in the streets together, dogs barked and the villagers bought and sold their wares.

Ariznim bit back tears. 'I do not deserve that sort of life,' she thought, though she longed for it. 'I am nothing compared to them, I am a parasite to them, a pest.'

She jumped when a sharp voice sounded behind her. "There it is!"

She turned around to see three men running towards her.  They were bounty hunters, after her from the last time she had been spotted. She felt more tears fall and her wings buzzed into life.  She jumped into the air and started to fly away from them, but she heard them running after her through the woods.  She knew she could fly much faster than they could run, but she heard the twang of a bow, and she cried out in pain as an arrow pierced her wing.  She continued to flap her wings, but she couldn't fly any longer.  She tumbled to the ground and got to her feet as soon as she could.  She started to run.  Her wing was bleeding profusely, but she continued on.  She could hear the men crashing through the underbrush after her.  They were no doubt stronger and faster than her, but they were also much bigger.  She slipped under branches and between bushes whilst they crashed behind her, the underbrush greatly slowing them down.

After many minutes the sound of their heavy footsteps faded behind her.  The sun was higher now, but within the forest it was still dim, only a soft dappled light filtering through the leaves.  She continued to run.  She caught her foot on a rock and went sprawling to the ground.  She cried out in pain as her injured wing hit the ground.  The arrow had fallen out of the wound, and it was still bleeding.  Ariznim lay on her back, her wing sticking awkwardly off to the side, breathing heavily for a few moments before she drifted into unconsciousness from exhaustion and pain.

For miles around, all Faelis Gindien could see was sand, not that he expected any different, he was, after all, in the middle of a desert.  And he wasn't lost, he wasn't miserable, and he wasn't thirsty.  He was on his way to finding himself some money.  Treasure really.  Many people would deem him crazy, going off into the desert, searching for lost treasure, but Faelis knew that there was truth behind the tales.

The Lost Caravan of the Southern Desert, it was called, mostly because it sounded col to the people who made it up.  Years and years ago, a caravan carrying a rich prince and all of his valuable goods had been traveling across the desert.  It had never returned to civilization,  Some people said that bandits got them and killed everyone, taking the money and forcing the prince to be their slave, others said that a giant sand wyrm had destroyed the caravan, and yet others thought it had been a sandstorm sent by the gods of the desert.  Of course, no one really knew, for no one had been there to see it, or anyone who had lived anyway.

The smart bet, Faelis thrown in, was on the thought that the caravan had run out of provisions before they got to civilization, that they hadn't prepared well enough.

But Faelis had, and he knew where the oases were along the way.  He had gotten a map from a good and trusted mapmaker, and the map hadn't led him wrong yet.  The map wasn't to the treasure, Faelis never would have believed it then, nearly no map led straight to a treasure. No, the map was just of the area of the desert that the treasure was in.  It marked the oases and some ruins and the caravan routs.

The Lost Caravan was still very far away from where Faelis was now, but he knew where he was going, and was confident he would find the treasure.  How he knew where it was?  He had researched.  Now, Faelis wasn't much one to research things in books, his way was more ask-around-until-you-find-something research, but for the Lost Caravan, he had needed to do both.  It had taken him four years to get enough information to go on the search.  Of course, the whole four years hadn't been spent looking for the caravan, he did it on and off, between thefts.  For that's what Faelis was, a thief.

He was walking through the sand, making good time, when he saw shadows on the horizon.  He could see them from very far off, as there was very little obstructing his view, only a tall dune here or there, but that also meant that there were only dunes to hide behind, and if these were people of the desert, Faelis knew he hadn't a chance of getting away from them.

So he continued walking.  As the shadows got closer he saw they were people on horses.  The elf knew if they were hostile he wouldn't be able to fight his way out, they were on horses, and there were to many, about ten or eleven.  If he was captured, he'd have to rely on his wit and charm to get him out.

It hadn't failed him yet.

This place, this place.  It was strange, very strange.  And the Feari was lost, very lost.  It had been in Essyrn, a place very, very far away, and it had been captured.  For something the people who had captured it called a 'circus'.  For months the Feari had sat in a cage.  Doing nothing, not being able to do anything.  Until that one day the man had forgotten to re-lock the cage after feeding.

It had then been easy for the Feari to escape, but escape into where?  A place that looked very different from where the Feari was from.  There was no sand, but green, leafy stuff all over the place.  The Feari had wandered aimlessly, avoiding towns, where it knew it would be shunned, as Feari were almost always evil creatures.  But this Feari was different, it did not have the same cruelty as it's kin.  It still craved blood, but it didn't kill unnecessarily, not like the others.

The Feari was slinking through the countryside, and it felt very exposed out in the open, so when it saw the small house, it rushed to it, wanting desperately to find a place to hide.

It hid under the house, and looked out of a crack in the siding so it could see outside.  It saw nothing for a long while, until three hours after it had hidden, it saw a pair of feet walk by.  Woman's feet, but the looks of it.  The Feari also smelled food, and it couldn't help but hiss hungrily, but it stopped immediately as it saw the walking feet stop.
