Physical Description
Yvaine has chocolate brown hair that falls in thick waves to about the middle of her back and large hazel eyes. Her features are delicate and rather rounded, making her appear a bit younger than she actually is. Small and slender in stature, it usually takes a bit of finagling with her wardrobe to give her a "proper feminine figure".

If left to her own devices, she would choose loose fitting dresses or even breeches and tunic over the endless parade of gowns and fineries she's usually forced into.

Personality
Outwardly docile and ladylike, Yvaine gives her family no reason to worry about their perfect little girl. She can charm and schmooze with the best of them, and for all appearances really isn't too bright.

In reality, she is a shrewd, calculating, strong-minded young woman with a voracious appetite for adventure. In the rare moments where she can truly be herself, she proves to be a witty conversationalist and possesses a bold spirit, willing and able to do just about anything she puts her mind to.

Magic/Abilities
Like all proper young ladies, Yvaine is well accomplished in the arts of dancing, sewing, playing harp and the like. Aside from that, her only real talents lie in her sharp mind and rather uncanny skills of observation and manipulation.

Relationships
Family: Amelia and Jean Devereaux, her parents, and Leo, Emile, and Lucius, her older brothers

History
Born to a family of minor nobility, Yvaine and her brothers had a lot of pressure placed on them from a very young age to make something of themselves. However, the boys were allowed the outlet of learning swordplay and horsemanship and the like, while Yvaine was stuck with dancing and embroidery.

As they grew older and Leo and Lucius both joined the military while Emile chose the clergy, it became clearer and clearer to Yvaine that her parents expected her to soon be married off to a good family- her brothers had their careers to think about after all, and snagging a good husband is her job.

She disagrees.
