The sun was high in the sky and there were barely any clouds in sight. It was a hot day and Avarosa had already been walking for hours. She was using her wings on and off to give herself a small break but that was still exhausting for her. She was hoping it would be easy to make it to the next town without stopping but the heat was proving her wrong. She would have to stop to rest soon and hopefully find some water.

A few more minutes down the path a stream began to come into view and Avarosa let out a sigh of relief. She would be able to stop for a while and get a drink before she continued. The path appeared to follow the edge of the stream but not cross over it. On the other side of the stream there was a dense forest that seemed to stretch on for miles. It was no wonder the path didn't cross over. There was nothing over there.

When she got to the edge of the stream she noticed it was easily shallow enough to be crossed. She couldn't help but wonder what could be in the forest but decided not to cross. Instead she bent down and formed a cup with her hands to start drinking water. She took a few gulps and then sat down to rest, leaning back with her arms behind her and looking up at the sky. She just needed a few more minutes before she would be ready to leave.

That's when an arrow flew out from the forest across the river, landing just next to Avarosa. She pushed herself to her feet immediately. She could see a group of bandits on the other side of the stream. There were at least ten of them, a few with bows and arrows and some others with swords and axes. There seemed to be a mage or two as well.

She turned around at the sound of footsteps to see more bandits coming from behind. It appeared they had set up a trap here to ambush travelers. Whether Avarosa was their first target of the day she was unsure, but she was not going to be an easy one. As the first bandit got close to her she slammed her tail into his chest, sending him flying backwards and shattering three of his ribs. In her right hand dark flames began to glow. Avarosa knew she could easily overpower many of these bandits at the same time by herself, but all of them? It would be an extremely difficult feat, even for her.

Nora had been traveling down that same path as well and arrived to the scene a couple minutes after the fight had begun. Stopping and staring from behind the trees for just a moment, the blue half-dragon woman noticed a large group of bandits attacking another half-dragon like herself, although this one was of the black dragon variety. Well, that wasn't very nice. she thought, seeming to be almost concerned, while a dangerous gleam of madness began entering her light blue eyes then.

Deciding to make herself known, Nora stepped out almost casually and without a care from behind the bushes and tree cover, and called out to the the bandits in a sing-song voice. "Yoo-hoo! What a fine day it is today, yeah?" Some of the bandits stopped and turned to look at the newcomer, while the others continued to fight the other dragon woman. "I have to say..."

Here, Nora paused a moment, tapping a clawed finger against her chin momentarily, as though thinking. "That I don't like you. And this day would be much prettier with blood!"

Then her countenance abruptly changed as she flashed those draconic pearly whites at the band of cut-throats before she leapt at one, grabbing his sword and tearing out his throat with a combination of teeth and claws. Her doubled strength being what she was made it easy to overpower the man and grabbed the sword twirling it like a pole before she rammed it into the chest of another bandit who tried to lunge at her while dodging yet another bandit with an axe.

One of the mages unleashed a lightning bolt her way and it merely bounced off her chest harmlessly. While the magic-user stood there stunned, she simply pouted and said. "That wasn't nice, no no." And then she tore his throat out too with her teeth, him gurgling on his own blood as he lay there dying.

The one with the axe came at her again and she managed to move out of the way in time but not before the axe dug into her side. Nora hissed angrily and in pain, then kicked a foot out at the burly axe man, her talons puncturing into his throat and he dropped the axe then, clutching at his jugular where a thick stream of blood now bubbled out. "Say, red looks good on you." Nora chuckled and picked up his axe, swinging it playfully before she cut off one of his hands. "Oopsie daisy! You didn't happen to need that, did you?" Laughing a cackling laugh, she cut off his other hand, and let him collapse on the ground screaming in agony and crying for his mommy.

Standing on the soon-to-be dead man, Nora jumped up and down gleefully dropping the axe blade down onto the man's head, no doubt causing further damage to his person. "Whee!" she chortled happily. "Who's next?" Looking around at the remaining bandits as the others had decided that to attack her was fruitless, seeing that she wasn't exactly sane in the head. They even looked too scared to comment and some even fled, while others still stuck around, including their leader, a big burly half-orc with a double bladed axe and one who knew how to use it well.

"Blood makes the grass grow!"

With a blast of energy Avarosa created an eruption of her darkflame magic out of the ground underneath a group of three bandits, turning them to ash. A dragon's magic is potent and powerful and fire is raging and destructive, causing her magic to be a combination of these qualities.

She looked to see who the newcomer was and to her surprise saw a woman of similar form to her. She appeared to have some apparent draconic qualities, though of a different color than Avarosa's own. After watching her rip through a few of the bandits Avarosa smiled and directed her attention over to the retreating bandits. She began to quietly channel a spell and darkflame energy surrounded her. Then it surged out into a wall of fire, burning the fleeing men and leaving them as charred corpses.

She looked towards the being that appeared to be the leader of this group and laughed. "Now this is turning out to be a better day."

The leader of the group, the half-orc man, looked around at all the carnage before his eyes returned back to Avarosa. "You will pay for that with a slow death!" Looking at Nora as well, he added. "Both of you." His eyes were filled with barely-contained rage and hate before he charged at Avarosa, double axe lifted high in the air, intending to take her down first, but not kill her too quickly. After all he wanted them to suffer first before they died.

Nora simply clapped and shouted while jumping up and down again, "Orcy man with a good vocabulary. Who was your tutor, I wonder?" Picking up a rock she threw that at his head, it connecting with his temple before she followed that up with a clump of dirt in his eyes.

The half-orc leader stopped in his assault of the other dragon woman and turned to Nora instead, eyes burning in fury even as he tried to wipe away the dirt marring his vision. "No more games! You will die!" With a loud roar, he went after Nora then, orcish fangs in his mouth gleaming in a sickly yellow shade. Nora was temporarily mesmerized by the sharp teeth before she remembered the situation, trying to dodge out of the way.
