Just outside Ketra were several farms with cows, chickens and crops. Since Kyna had grown up in a village where all people freely shared the food that they had grown or found, she had no notion that the farmers might object to her helping herself.

She jumped a fence and trotted over to a chicken coop that sat in the shadow of a barn. Fion the baby dragon trailed after her companion, making contented noises since she could smell food. The sun was all but set, casting a warm glow over the grass and buildings. Kyna arrived at the coop, smiling for the smell and the bokking of hens as they scratched in the dirt. She bokked at them and snatched a snail from the barn wall to throw to one of the hens then wandered around the coop until she found little doors that opened to the nests. Inside, Kyna found two eggs, still warm from the laying.

"Thank you," she whispered to the birds and left an offering of nuts and berries she had scavenged as payment to the hens. By her legs, Fion scratched around and bared her fangs at the hens.

Bovil, who had been working on the farm for a extra room to stay in, had finally finished plowing a far away field (Thanks to a little bit of help from his centaur form) He was now changed back to his human form since he saw no use in trying to use it for anything else. He grabbed a basket from the farm owner, who was amazed to see how quick he had plowed the fields without the use of a horse. The farmer quickly told Bovil,"Boy...How did you do that so fast?" Bovil smiled for a minute and said,"I have my tricks..." Before the farmer could answer Bovil was already off to the chicken coop to collect some eggs. When he came in he could see that someone had been in here before. He saw that someone had left nuts and berries around a few of the hens. He quickly ran out from the chicken coop with his bow already drawn from his back. He quickly yelled to Ketra,"Stop! Thief!"

When Kyna heard someone call thief, she immediately placed the eggs down in the grass.

"Fion, stay." She commanded her dragon who leaped off her shoulder and landed over the eggs. Smoke blew from her nostils and her eyes seemed hot. Can she breathe fire? No matter. Thieves were afoot!

Kyna pulled her maul from the straps keeping it on her back. The handle was wooden and shorter than many mauls in deference to her size. The head a dull iron, one side flattened like a hammer and the other spiked to drive through scaly hide. She trotted back to whence she came, the handle crossed over her chest both for protection and in preparation for a swing.

"Where?" Kyna yelled to the man with a bow. "What'd they steal?"

Bovil wasn't actually taking to kindly to Kyna and her dragon. He shot the dragon a quick look to see that it only wanted to attack him. He looked back at Kyna and saw how dumbfounded she was so he said,"I need those eggs you took..." It was really starting to test his patience. Bovil didn't want to get too close up only due to the fact that Kyna's dragon might get to him, or he'd get hit with the maul. The issue was beginning to anger him to the point of which his hand began to emit a slight greenish glow along his palm. He quickly noticed this and the small glow vanished in a few moments.

Kyna gaped. Food was to be shared freely! Too late, her bardic memory shifted and she remembered one of the legends Pol had taught her. Ibi, had stripped the ripe fruit trees and left the farmer without the ability to pay his taxes. It was said that a dragon-knight had hunted the young Ibi down but made him work off his crime rather than rot in jail. Kyna's jaw clenched anyway, for when food was hoarded there would be those who could not have it and those who would have too much. Distracted by her memory, Kyna didn't notice the quickly suppressed glow in the stranger's palm.

"Right." She said and let her maul slide through her hands until it rested on the ground. "I forgot the laws of this land." Forgotten that other lands have strange customs, more like. A surge of longing for home made her stomach twist so she quickly turned to Fion.

"Leave 'em," her sadness came out as a tightness in her throat and she trotted back to the eggs, holding the maul in one hand. With the other hand, she scooped up the eggs while Fion pawed at her foot. The little dragon always seemed to know when Kyna was sad.

Ignoring the gesture, Kyna returned to the stranger.

"Here. An' leave the berries and such I left for the hen. I had thought that a gift to her was enough." She couldn't help but add, "she did all the work. Pushing out such large eggs."

Bovil felt bad about taking the eggs back, but chose to take them back. He said,"Well at least you didn't make this into a fight...I respect that." He grabbed his quiver and pulled a large, fresh apple from a pocket. He said,"Fresh picked..."and tossed it into Kyna's hand. He chuckled and said,"Don't need you dying of hunger now do we?" He put the eggs back into the basket and said,"Now unless you want to farm owner to be after you, you'd best be going now..." He slipped his bow and quiver back on and walked back to the chicken coop to collect a few more eggs as he left Kyna behind with nothing more than a slight smile on his face as he climbed inside the coop and began to collect more eggs. He finished and went back to the small house along the edge of the barn. He saw the barn owner already trying to take out a knife that seemed far too large for him and simply said,"Here...you don't need that right now bud..." He set down the full basket of eggs and grabbed the knife with ease. The barn owner nearly collapsed, but fell into a chair a few moments later. Bovil laughed a little as he grabbed the eggs and placed them down in the pantry. He grabbed another basket and began his work at a few nearby trees in order to get a few oranges and apples off of the remaining trees. He couldn't help but wonder about Kyna and how she was doing. He sketched the thought out of his mind as he began to finish up.
