Title: Treasure Hunt (RooibosWithCake)
Post by: Whim on March 16, 2017, 05:45:07 PM
@RooibosWithCake

The Jovial Sparrow.

Ewan squinted up at the freshly painted sign. What sort of adventuring group calls themselves sparrows? But beggars can't be choosers; two adventuring companies had already turned him and his stolen map away. The boy's stint as Lady Selwin's servant hadn't been pleasant, and he wanted to make the most of the treasure map he'd swiped. He walked inside.

The Jovial Sparrow had a sparse crowd, or at least it seemed that way, the entire building was enormous. Nothing high-class, which was good, as Ewan looked rather scruffy. Exotic weapons and the skulls of unusual monsters adorned the walls. The little sorcerer tip-toed up the bar and peered over it.

He cleared his throat, trying to sound formal, "Uh, hello? Who do I talk to about hiring some adventurers? Got a treasure map - I mean a position - for your sparrows.

"Also do you got a bed for the night?"

Dumbom was in the middle of cleaning a mug left by a hooded customer as he heared the boys voice on the other side of the counter. he looked at Ewan and raised an eyebrow at this peculiar question. He have been serving customers food, beverages and a place to stay for as long as he can remember, but someone looking to hire muscle was a more rare occasion. He expected there would come employers at some point but not so quick or in the form of a young boy. Could happen the boy was a street urchin hired by someone who needed to be discrete, or just a lost boy very deep in the mud. Either way he felt curious to hear more of what the boy had to say.

"beds are eight coins a night. If you are looking to hire a sparrow for a quest then it would be me you are looking for. Let's find a place to sit, so we may discuss just what you had in mind."

Dumbom then walks away from the bar and points towards the side to the boy, in the direction of a fireplace. He sits down on one of the six chairs surrounding a roundtable.  close by it the fire sparks and with his hands he gesterues the boy to sit opposite to him.
