Physical Description

Hilarius is tall and lean with a boyish face and an athletic build. He has bright blue eyes, medium blond hair, and a light golden tan with a smattering of freckles from serving out of doors. He keeps hair cut short although the top does have some length and wave to it that he can never truly tame. Hilarius doesn't have any tattoos or piercings. Scars are also minimal as while he has trained and served in the army he has not yet been deployed to see any real action. He does have a small mole above his lip on the right side though.

For clothes, he traditionally wears his uniform but he does go out of his way to see how far he can push the limits of what is appropriate. If he could run around shirtless and barefoot, he would. He's proud of his body and wants to show it off.

Personality

ANSGAR'S GIFT TO MANKIND
Hilarius is a confident young man. He is proud of his body and his looks and would readily believe himself to be Ansgar's gift to mankind. He works hard to keep himself looking physically fit and pretty and will use every opportunity he gets to flirt with others if for no other reason than to fluster them. Bonus points if he has a bed-warmer or two (or three) for the night.

I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KING
His confidence is not limited to just the physical either. Hilarius is not only fiercely patriotic, but is also power-hungry for an officer position in the military. He wants to serve his country to the best of his ability and believes that even at such a tender age, he could do a better job than the weathered and tired old farts on their high horses that are currently in charge. Hilarius demands respect and attention. He will be obeyed and to go against him is to face his wrath. His way is law and he will ensure that you bend to his will even if it means taking twice as long to get something done to prove his point. His peers have learned it's better to join him than to go up against him. Besides, everyone knows that with every "king" there is a treasury of benefits to be reaped.

OPERATION PETTICOAT
Hilarius is both arrogant and an opportunist. He is always looking for the next chance to step forward and serve. Don't think for one second though, that this is purely out of the goodness of his heart. He only wants that which will benefit him the most. He runs an entire operation of schemes and activities behind the scenes to "improve" military life for him and his comrades. The key is just to not get caught. And of course, that which is the most dangerous reaps the greatest reward. He's been caught a few times but always manages to wiggle out of serious punishment. Somehow evidence just keeps disappearing or people turn out ot be quite mistaken in their accusations. Strange.

Things

• Has a very serious grooming regimen. Do NOT mess with it. He spends a lot of money on getting only the "best" products meant to improve appearance.
• Secretly quite likes honeysuckle scents. A lady's attractiveness instantly increases if she smells like his favorite flower.
• Feels he's meant for greater things and is determined to get there come hell or highwater.
• Does get in over his head sometimes with his antics but thus far has always managed to come out on top. You don't play with the big boys without risking getting a bit roughed up.

History

Born into a comfortable, financially-stable home, Hilarius grew up without serious hardship. At the age of 18, he joined the Connlaothian army as a swordsman just like his older brother. Unlike Artorius though, Hilarius has every intention of remaining a soldier and serving his country as he was born to. He's formed a network of peers that work serve alongside him and he could not be happier. He loves his life and works hard to put his money where his mouth is.
