Well, none of the maids sounded quite like that. They also wouldn't smell so... Damp. Adalia gave her fingers a flex, holding them like she was ready to claw at something. Of course she was at a disadvantage, she was barely dressed and this person came into her house. Didn't look like he was the midnight plant waterer.  "A mouse?" Was her quiet reply when she took careful steps forward towards the intruder.

"That doesn't explain why you're up my lady." She toned her voice down and took a few quiet more steps, "We can talk about it in the kitchen over tea if you've had a nightmare." Adalia said gently, pretending that she was a servant helping the lady of the house. A quick survey of the room let her know nothing big was taken.  Taking a few quiet more steps she reached out her hand for the stranger and wiggled her fingers. "Come with me Dear, you know this room is nothing but bad news."

It's a little rusty but I hope it'll do!

While reading had never been his strong suit, he was absolutely sure that little note said to meet here. Not seven feet to the left - which is an entirely different street - but right here. Yuuki was so absolutely sure he had the right place that he'd been standing and waiting for almost a half hour, shifting from foot to foot and looking the littlest amount of grumpy. This person was supposed to talk about a job with him and Yuuki - for the most part being unemployed - could do with the money. There were things to take care of.

Important things. Like rent and food things.

Pushing a hand through his already messy hair Yuuki sighed and decided fifteen more minutes. He'd already wasted enough time to just wait and it was boring now. The sounds of footsteps   echoed down the alley and Yuuki couldn't give enough cares to look up. Until something collided with his shoulder and he and the stranger went tumbling. The man got up quickly, giving Yuuki a good elbow in the face on the way up though there was an unfamiliar weight on his lap left behind.  "Hey!" Yuuki called, scrambling to stand up holding the unfamiliar weight before ignoring it and putting it into one of his jacket pockets.

Wait or run after them? The fifteen minutes wasn't up, so maybe that was the guy? Also the thing that was in his pocket but that could come after. Moving a hand to his face to catch any wayward blood that may have poured of the cut in his mouth Yuuki started to jog after the person. Maybe this was a test? It wasn't a very good test.

Yuuki needs to meet this girl. I vote candy. We can play with Adalia and your merchant prince another time, since I'm trying to... Ease in sorta kinda.

But I am all over Candy. This could prove to be quite entertaining. That poses a problem though, is she kicking yuukis butt because of mistaken bad guy identity? I'm sure he can kinda look like a villan! His feels would be super hurt though. It'd be hilarious.

There was something off about the taste of the air, Adalia decided while she read her book. Her tongue went to her thumb to flip the page easier while she read by the lamp light in the corner of her fathers office. The house was silent except for the occasional page being flipped, the live in maids had gone to bed, her parents were off in some cottage for a blessed few days while they discussed whom she should be married off to.

A flash of light and thunder clapped, rattling the windows. At least that explained why the air tasted just off. It always felt weird out when there was lightning, it made her skin tingle and her hands itch, which was why the book was closed and her fingers went to her palms to rub them. 

Adalia was hardly dressed for being up and about. A floor length nighty, her gloves off, her gauntlets off. The opalescent hair was down and hung around her waist in a shimmering curtain, her mother would probably faint if she saw her daughter out of her bedroom like that, even if it was in the dead of night. It being the dead of night didn't explain the faint footsteps coming from the house, like someone was trying to be quiet.

Slowly she stood up, turning the lamp down while she stood up, her bare feet quiet upon the floor. Most of the house had stone or wooden floors with the occasional carpet, which meant the difference between silence and discovery. Still, why would someone be sneaking around the house? Why not walk normally? Frowning slightly when rain began to pour she began to walk faster down the hallway towards the relic room.

It wasn't fancy or anything, a room full of heirlooms that her parents decided were important. A few vases, some jewelry. Nothing very important, which made her curious as to why a maid would be in there at this time at night. Was she stealing? Maybe she was restless and decided to dust? A nightmare and she was restless. It wouldn't be the first time it happened. Rounding the door way, Adalia stood with her arms crossed over her chest and spoke into the darkness.

There was someone in there, which is exactly she was expecting. "Why aren't you sleeping at this time of night?" She said, curious "Is everything okay? Did you have a nightmare?" Except this shadow was a lot taller than her maid. Adalia frowned, let her hands fall to her sides just in case there wasn't a growth spurt in one of the personal maids.

He needs money to live, obviously.

I like Quinlan. Partly because that's the name of my friends dog (goes by Quin. He's an Irish setter and... Oh man. He's a doofy dog.) and because his curse/ability sounds really cool.

Breaking into Adalia's house can happen! I'm sure she's got lots of nifty stuff in her (parents) house that's all... Inherited from their ancestors. Nifty magic-ie stuff. Stuff she probably thinks is super mundane 'cause its just always been there. I like this idea. And Adalia is quite the powerful mage, but much to rational to blow up her parents stuff.

I like this.  Quinlan should steal her parents stuff.  I really like the whole his blood hurts him thing, that could prove to be neat! I like this. Shall I start? =D Things go bump in the night or some such?

I figured I'd start off... Uh. Not Fresh, but... As Fresh as can be with two of my previous favourite characters.

First I have Adalia.

She is a mageknight in Serendipity and after returning from a little adventure she's done little else but day dream about going on another one. Which is unlikely, her dad is shopping for her husband and she's not as rash as before!  Adalia is nice but only has one friend - Her horse Atras.  She has trouble getting close to people though she really does try!  If there's one thing she's very good at it's the whole Foot in Mouth thing. 

I can come up with anything for her to do. She just needs a character to do it with! I'm good at being vague and smudging details so that it makes sense for whichever to happen. Within reason. I can't fudge a meteor crashing into anything.


Second I have the loveable Yuuki.

Yuuki is a sorta wanderer kinda sorta. He's settled in Adela and enjoys it there. He does odd jobs for people and just sort of wants to live instead of run away from nothing - which he is really good at, let me tell you.  This character is sorta up in the air, but once I figure out a solid plan for him ( Ha ) this will reflect that. Maybe. He's Yuuki, he doesn't get solid plans. His plans are solid like jello.

The mysterious Raizel

A vigilante. Want someone killed 'cause they did bad stuff? Hire her! Want someone to work on your farm? Hire her! She does things! Also I don't know what i want to do with her! I sorta do. But she doesn't know what I want to do with her, so she can go anywhere and do anything! =D YAY for self discovery and what not. Also she has secrets that even she doesn't know! BUT I DO! dare you try and find out? Muahahahaha!?

The Gentle And Generous Sharlee.
Sharlee is a wandering trader Sorta Kinda. She mostly spends her time spelunking when she can, not above getting dirty and usually has a few artifacts that she may or may not have robbed from a tomb. When she isn't being adventurous she's searching for her sister, the previous Commander of the Adelan Army, because she refuses to believe that she is dead.

The Super Duper Interesting Avery.

A demon from a different here that isn't quite the same here as here. He looks weird, acts weird and lives by some strange personal rules. Still discovering this guy, so far he's pretty nice but... He hasn't met anyone he doesn't like yet.


The ever so graceful and magnificent Cadreinth

High Lord of Jadenshine. He's ... Stuff. And does stuff. He is unmarried so if you're interested in some sort of marriage plot that can be done. I dunno about marrying for love, since he's never done that, it'd be weird for him! He's also available for political-ie stuff!


The Lovely Spoiled Daughter of Jadenshine Gardenia

She is the daughter of Cadreinth! She's a total Daddy's girl. A bit of a spoiled brat(though she is a lady), having never wanted for anything. She has a deep dark secret though that her father has gone through great pains to keep. Gardenia is a variety of werewolf. Has been since before she can remember. While not totally herself when she's transformed she's far more violent and loves a good fight.
She also wants to cure it! So while she isn't studious, she'll do just about anything to not be a giant monster anymore.

The Odd and Odder Xala.

Xala is an odd one. A fiery temper, an odd way of speaking and a very odd job. Xala is a poacher, sorta kinda. Kills fancy animals. Steals fancy pieces from people. She can steal anything if she thinks there might be a buyer!

Super Duper Religious and Holy Sunniva

Sunniva is a blind Knight of the White Lily. With her Trusty Canine Pal Pillow and her strange love of setting sinners on fire Sunniva is a devout Ansgarian(or whatever you call it). Her major goal in life is to be a martyr and be granted sainthood ( She can dream.) but she'd content with just living. A few psychic abilities One she feels is a holy gift and the other she sees as sinful Sunniva is a hotmess just waiting to boil over. DARE YOU TOUCH THE STOVE OF RELIGIOUS FATE!? Physical Description
Yuuki is a tall broad man. Things about him are just intimidating and he knows it to some degree, he's never slouched or slumped over, his posture is never anything less than, chin is held high. A tan keeps his skin a dusky colour and his hair is black and cut short, usually pushed back from his hands pushing through it.

An intricate assortment of tattoos cover his body from head to toe, though the only ones he allows people to see are the ones that climb up his neck and exist on his face. Yuuki refuses to talk about them and if someone doesn't know what they're for already - which they usually do not - he doesn't elaborate on it. There would have to be a massive amount of trust involved before he spoke of them to anyone. 

Besides the tattoo's Yuuki has an assortment of scars from some fight or another and has trouble walking very long distances from a leg injury, though he usually ignores his and powers through.

Personality
Having little to nothing has made him very loyal to things he does have.  He's loyal to a fault. In the sense that he would fight a losing battle knowingly simply because of who it was he was fighting for.

He's not the best educated and is basically illiterate, though her certainly tries. A bit dense, more from underexposure of social situations than anything else.

Magic/Abilities
He can teleport. Literally teleport. However it makes him extremely ill and teleporting is only useful in extremely odd situations that haven't come up for a good long while. He's probably forgotten he can do it.

He's an extremely skilled swordsman and survivalist.

History
Yuuki grew up in a nomadic tribe  that travelled between the lower area of adela and the moraki desert. His life was mostly uneventful until his mid-teens where tragedy struck and his younger brother died. Yuuki received his tattoos and was cast out from his life - He went on to sell his skills and gamble until settling (sort of) in Adela

Physical Description
  Adalia is very fair. She looks little like her parents, instead like their ancestors with the pale opalescent hair and fair skin. Her ears have delicate points to which she does nothing to cover. Adalia is petite. For the most part she is without scars or flaws, everything a noble lady should look like. Except for her hands, which her mother requires she covers to not shock anyone should they be in polite company.

Adalia's hands are a source of shame to her and she takes great pains to keep them covered. Damage done again and again over the years have left their marks and both hands are covered in burn scars and they climb up both her arms. Because she is a mage and because she does have innate healing abilities and has access to good healers her hands work as intended except for mild mobility issues.

Personality 
Stubborn is a good word for Adalia. Also she is nice.
Kisses babies, gives to the poor.

Magic/Abilities
  An elemental mage, she can control the elements into destructive physical forces. There is a flaw in the way her abilities present themselves, because they become so physical and her hands are what she uses to conjure them Adalia's hands have paid the price. She wears a special made pair of gauntlets that can focus the energy away from her physical hands - Though it was too late to keep most of the damage away.

Fire: Adalia's main element, the one that she can cause the most damage with and thus the one that's caused the most damage to her. Without the use of her gauntlets or some other type of focusing device the heat is conjured and expelled through the palms of her hands, thus burning her and whomever she's touching. A few tricks she'd learned while under duress was the ability to literally blow the super heated air into someone, burning them from the inside out.

Air: Another destructive force. Her gauntlets also have a use for her when she grabs air. The fingers and wrist are reinforced by metal, allowing her to compress air without the fear of breaking her fingers from making them bend the wrong way from the pressure. While it is less destructive to her in the long run - simply breaking her fingers instead of burning her - it is just as potentially lethal.

Water: Because of her strong association with fire Adalia has little ability with water. In order to learn how to heal with the use of water alone took her heavy study and a lot of practice, in the presence of water she can influence it but for the most part this is her second weakest element.

Earth: Not the most useless but the most situational. Adalia has little use for earth based magic when she lives in a city - it would just ruin peoples stuff.  Out in the open she's capable of having spikes of rock shoot out of the ground, though this is a slow process and Adalia would rather just stab them with a sword.

Adalia's magic is intense and very physical. She can't conjure the elements, she conjures products of the elements or borrows from ones nearby. If a fire is nearby she can influence it. If there is water nearby she can heal. The gauntlets are a crutch, but without them she's as much danger to herself as she is to anyone she wants to hurt.

She's also very allergic to iron, touching it alone gives her a rash and longer exposure can give her blisters and make her physically ill to the point of poisoning.

Relationships
Cadreinth He is the High Lord of Jadenshine and they are cousins. While they don't keep in contact they occasionally meet up.
Atras - He is her horse and her best friend. He's a palomino and loves to run.
Hysaeda - An interesting man that made her question absolutely everything about her life except for her love for her horse. She was infatuated with him and made plenty of mistakes, none of which she regrets.
Adalia considers him a friend.
Edward Draven - Her husband - Not that she wanted one.

But here I am again! Like a siren's call it eventually got to me and I can't wait to write and make new characters and bring old ones back and start drawing my butt off again. I'm actually a little excited.
