Damn, was she a flatterer, and damn did he feel flattered. Cherry grinned over at her as she repeated his words, purring them. "Heh, I take it you like a handy man?" he teased, his ego inflating even more. Hey, he was perfectly happy to be a handy man. That's what he did best, for despite his smaller stature he was a surprisingly tough guy. Ran in his genes and all. Hell, even if it was just chopping wood, it was an excuse to take off his shirt and try and impress her--and hopefully not slice off any of his own flesh in the process, since she made it a bit hard to focus on anything else.
Hoo boy, little did he know...
He was quite content to tag along beside her--he didn't want her to think him too much of a lech, after all--until they stopped in front of a dark storefront. Nothing unusual, nothing unusual at all, and Cherry wasn't even phased by the gruff voice that came from the other side. Hmm...must be a pretty important job to have such tight security. Soon the door opened, showing a heavily muscled, tall (at least to him) man to match the voice, though his grin didn't seem nearly as scary as the rest of him. Client? Perhaps that should have been one of Cherry's warning signs, that word, but once again it flew right over his head--hey, it was a common word, and he didn't know what kind of business this was.
Smiling pleasantly at the gruff man, he nodded politely to him before following Peach inside, taking in the dimmed setting and the smell of insense. Huh...maybe it was a magic shop? That's what the smell of insense always brought to mind, memories of the gypsies and psychics that passed through their town on their wagons, stopping now and then to read palms or gaze at crystals. Yeah, their town was weird and kind of eccentric. Guess that's why he turned out how he did.
That was until Cherry saw the couches. And, more importantly, the people. All scantily clad and lounging on the couches comfortably and...
Oh my...Cherry didn't think he'd ever seen so many naked and nearly naked people in once place in his life. Not that he minded the view, except...the men kind of spoiled it, and...
Oh shit.
Suddenly, everything began to come together, and Cherry's jaw dropped.
He could only stare as he was introduced to the "gang", too surprised to even have the sense to wave apprehensively, though he did manage a weak, wry smirk at the whole "laid back atmosphere" bit. Ahaha. That was putting it a bit lightly. Dear Gods. He was in a prostitution house, wasn't he? That's what this was, wasn't it? Not that he'd know what one looked like! Uh...maybe it was just...very laid back...and...the people had just come in from...chopping wood...yeah. Ha, yeah right, no one wore that little when it came to chopping wood or spoke of clients or lit insense or had freaking bouncers for chopping wood! And...
Fit in?! Physical labor?! Get put to work?!
Oh Gods! Not like THAT! No way he'd go into that sort of profession! Especially not...with guys...doing that...
His green eyes widened with horror as he was stared at by men and women alike, and while the stares from the women was fine and dandy, the men...oh, the men...and that one man! Was he hitting on him?! Oh Gods, he was being hit on by a man! Cherry blanched as the room errupted with laughter, suddenly feeling like a piece of meat set out before a pack of starving dogs, and he quickly held up his hands, waving them frantically.
"Ahaha, no, no, I think you misinterpreted the 'physical labor' bit, I meant like...chopping...stuff..." he finished dumbly, face turning from white to positively red, nearly hiding the cherry tattoo on his cheek. He nearly jumped out of his skin when Peach touched his face, turning quickly to look at her, and then barking out a nervous laugh. "Scared? Haha, of course not, I just..." Want to get out of here as soon as posible?
That last bit was left unspoken as Peach continued in that sensual voice of hers, and he met her gaze as she looked at him. With that look.
Oh hell.
Apparently, Cherry was one of those "almost anyones".
"...Oh...sure..." Cherry said slowly, taken in by her damned charm. Well...it couldn't hurt. She was damned beautiful, and, well...worst came to worst and he could always run. Huh...wonder what a girl like her was doing in a place like this, but then again, she didn't seem depressed. Hell, they seemed like a family.
A naked family. But a family.
Weird.
Huh. Well...maybe this wouldn't be that bad after all. Maybe he could...end up working as a bouncer or something. Yeah. A bouncer. Not the other thing!
