How long had it been? Her eyes opening slowly, she was weak, she could barely raise her head, and even if she tried, it was firmly attached to the deck of the carriage. A large wooden one one which those men had put her on. Making sure she couldn't move at all. She could clearly remember what had happened, a week ago or so. Or perhaps was it longer then that, she couldn't tell.
Even remembering was hard, she didn't had anything to eat for days...nor to drink. She was minding her business, as usual, laying in the grass, along the riverside, the sun shining bright in the sky without a single cloud to disturb the peace of the day. That day had begin with the greatest of pleasure as she had finally lay her eggs. She had finally give birth to her child. She was caring for them near the river. She had 3 of them, 3 wonderful eggs that would eventually become dragons.
Herself filled with blissful joy as she covered them motherly with her wings. The father was gone to get some food in some other valley, leaving the mother alone with the eggs. But little did she knew that the couple had been watched for days and that the humans in hiding, were just waiting for her to be weakened and alone.
When they appeared, she barely had the time to try and cover her eggs that one of them was smashed from a spear. Letting out a raging cry, she tried to fight them off. But she was outnumbered and she quickly went down. Giving birth to the egg had already taken a lot of energy from her, these were prepared. She was small for a dragon, she didn't put much of a fight. She manage to hide one of her egg in her aqua mane, keeping it from harm as the other was taken away by one of the man.
These were slavers and they were here for her. There was no way they could win against her husband, but he was far and out of reach. She cried as they were taking her down. Her strenght weakening as they slashed at her, throwing arrow and the likes.
She couldn't remember when she lost conscious. But it had been a week or so that her legs and wings were attached to the carriage, she couldn't move at all, but she knew her egg was still safe in her mane, the other one, she couldn't find.
The sun was high in the sky, once more, as the group of slavers was entering the main city, moving along the main street as the dragon was shown to everyone, on her deck of wood. Eight full grown horses were heavily pulling the carriage along, as it wasn't an easy task. They intended to give her as a present to the ruler of the city in order to gain some favors and perhaps sell the egg in the black market. Despite all their try, they couldn't get their filthy hands on the one in the dragon's mane, but didn't want to get too rough has it could be broken.
Tamariel was sending desperate cry along the way, heavily breathing, her wounds had heal a little, but not entirely, a full recovery would need for her to eat at the very least. Taking on her human form would also make it easier for the humans to just catch her and take the egg away. She couldn't let it happen, she would protect it with her life.
People in the streets were looking at them as they were moving along the main street, with their heavy load. Wouldn't there be someone to help her out?
