With Maneki out hunting, Monnayage took advantage of his freedom and headed to the nearest bar. This evening found it packed with people, most of them men finished with their daily work and taking a break. Smells of sweaty men, perfumed women, beer, and other unwanted things permeated the air, making him wrinkle his nose upon entering. Bars had never been the best-smelling of places, especially for his sensitive nose. But there was one thing on his mind that drove him to come anyway.
It had been too long since he'd been with a young woman. He couldn't even remember when he'd last been able to nestle himself against warm, smooth skin, taking in the natural musk of a female's body. Maneki had seen to it that he had no open opportunity to do such a thing.
Well, the joke's on her, he mused. He'd promised he'd stay out of trouble—he didn't specify to her what that meant.
Who was he, to be ruled by a cat, anyhow? No. Tonight was his night.
And so it was that he made his way forward and peered around, eyes finally coming to settle on a beautiful young woman near the front of the bar.
Yes. She would do nicely. He liked her long black hair, shining with health and immaculate neatness. Her clothes didn't scream slut and instead something more along the lines of someone simply out for a good time. The earthy greens looked good on her, blending with her tanned skin like that of ferns on a forest floor.
The seats on both sides of her were taken, but that didn't matter. He'd just have to lure her to a private table. Or a private room if he was lucky.
Her eyes—green as emeralds—flicked up to him when he approached, a curious yet inviting flint glinting within them, and he grinned at her. "Been here long?" he asked, nodding at the already empty glass by her arm.
