Um I have no idea if I am posting this in the right area or not but here it goes anyway ^-^'
Race: Ascentia
Physiology: One of the most distinctive qualities of the Ascentians is that they can assume three shapes and forms. The fist and what they are born as is their animal form which varies from Ascentian to Ascentian. Second is a humanoid form that they begin taking on around five hundred years of age, in which they take on a half human half their respective animal appearance although their feature are much more sharper and animal like if they are predators compared to the much softer and gentler feature of the animal of prey. Lastly they are able to take on a a completely human form in appearance when they come of age on their thousandth year(equivalent to a human's twenty-first birthday). Although most Ascentians remain in their animal forum more often than not. While in their second and third forms an Ascentian's skin color varies as vastly as human's as do their hair color. A few common ways to tell these creatures apart from normal animals is their oddly for animals colored fur, intelligent eyes, and their ability to talk. Albeit when dealing with Half breeds although uncommon Ascentians often lose their ability to take on their third form but gain other attributes in place of it: such as physical, sensory, mental, or even magical traits. But those who are born half human are only able to assume the second form and even appear more human then the rest of the Ascentians when in the same form; albeit this occurrence is very uncommon almost rare.
History: It foretold that the very first Ascentians were originally ordinary animals that were blessed by the spirits of nature to ascend beyond and above all other beast. Two of each of the animal species found themselves quickly becoming smarter before they began to change physically into what is know as the present day Ascentians. Though despite their change the Ascentians decided to remain in their natural habitats and continue living off nature in perfect harmony. Each of them stuck with the other Ascentian of their animal kind and started their own tribes in different natural areas without building any human like civilizations. They remained living in nature as they did when they were animals with as little changes as possible. For a great time they continued to live this way in peace. That is until humans started tearing down more nature then the Ascentians deemed appropriate to build their settlements and declared war upon all the humans. The war ended with heavy casualties on both sides and with even more environment and nature destroyed. With more than half their population wiped out the remaining Ascentians fled into the remaining surviving habitats to protect them and attempt to live peacefully while scorning all humans.
Power/Abilities: Ascentians have all the strength and abilities of their animal as well as the instincts to match. Those who have the will often use their claws/talons and fangs in their first and second forms as weapons to fight with. Every Ascentian is magically inclined though how much varies from one to the other and the magic they are able to use isn't fixed albeit holy magic isn't that uncommon among their people. Their physical capabilities are greater than most humans being depending on their animal. Though half breeds are often found to possess only magical abilities or physical capabilities albeit they are powerful in the whatever they possess. It is rare but not unheard for a half Human half Ascentian to possess all Ascentian abilities along with those of the human parentage though these are often killed once found.
Life Style: To this day the Ascentians still live in harmony with nature most of their homes being underground labyrinths, naturally giant clustered trees(think avatar), or labyrinths carved into mountain sides. Due to being animals most of the time they really don't see anything wrong with nudity and that its perfectly normal. Though they do have clothes that are made of anything you can find in nature but they usually only cover what absolutely needs to be. They are firm believers in animism and often pray to each individual spirit when they are taking something from it. They are a very feral yet peaceful race willing to talk thing out but ready to pounce at the slightest sign of hostility. The majority of the Ascentians still very much scorn the humans and bare a deep hatred toward them. They're an independent society depending solely on their efforts to survive and make ends meet. And while Ascentians won't do trade with the other societies/races or other codependent actions they still interact with them. Unlike most other race though it is the females that hold the power in the Ascentian society.
Relationships: Family is a extremely varying matter for them since it varies drastically from one to another. Though most of the family problems lie with sibling or mothers and their daughters.
Ascentians don't get married or even date for they will spend their entire lives searching for their other half, soul mat, or as it is most commonly referred to mate and will spend the rest of their lives committed to their mate once found.
Life Span: On average an Ascentian can live up to 5000 years in age which is the equivalent of a 105 year old human. They enter puberty a bit earlier than humans do at the age of 480(10) which ends at 768-816(16-17).
Social Structure: Their social structure is very simple being ruled by the Alphas(their ruler). Who became such through physical strength, magical power, instinctive skills, and intelligence. The Shamans are next in line of power right before the Betas and then the Deltas. Most Ascentians if given the chance to rule over their people would consider their options first before accepting or declining the opportunity.
