The swift clanking of metal filled the halls of the Sinclair Manor as Liam ran through the halls. "Uncle! Uncle! Where are you!" It took him a few minutes to actually find his uncle, Ben Sinclair, the ruler of the Sinclair Fiefdom. He was in the study looking over things, records of some kind. Liam didn't care to much about it. He was just happy to live here in the manor, after his parents died, he was left without a home. His uncle had taken him in, but soon after his Cousin just vanished. Liam just assumed someone took her for the whore she was and kidnapped her. It was safe to assume that there was much lost love between Liam and his cousin.

"What is it Liam?" Ben asked, his voice was sullen, lacking any real power. The last three years had been hard on him. He loved his Daughter wholeheartedly, but she always failed to return that love.

"A royal Courier came this morning. I've been given my first assignment!"

Ben perked his head up a bit, "Oh really? What is the Assignment?"

Liam Smiled, "I'm to relieve a soldier and act as an escort to a Guardian of Stones."

Ben's face Darkened. "That is a life-long assignment, you serve until you or the guardian die, or until you get relieved. Are you Sure you can do this? This could be your only Assignment. And what about the Sinclair family name?"

Liam looked away for a moment, not sure how to answer his question properly. Liam had no obligation the the Sinclair Family, his mother was a Sinclair, but his father was a commoner. Ben mainly took him in out of pity to their deaths. "We, maybe while traveling with the guardian, I might find Sonya, and bring her back. Who better to find her than someone who actually knows her? Besides, I've already sent my answer, The Guardian will be here in a few hours."

Ben looked back down to his reports, before looking back up again, "Don't die Liam, you are still young, you have a grand life ahead of you. Don't let it be squandered by death."

"Thank you, Uncle."

"Are you alright Lady Radia?" the soldier asked his charge. Elisha had been thoughtfully frowning, Bish had been silent recently and it worried her. The Fell Goddess had the ability to talk through the amulet she wore. It worried her that Bish would be absolutely silent, it meant the were either observing or plotting, or both. She looked over to the soldier, he had a very rugged look to him.

"Excuse me Sir, but what would you do when the grace of god can't save you?" The soldier thought it over for a moment, scratching the back of his head.

"I'm not sure, accept my fate I guess? Why?"

Elisha just shrugged, "No reason. How much longer until we get to the Sinclair Manor?"

"We will be there within the hour Ma'am"

Liam Knew he had a few hours before the Guardian of Stones would arrive, So he went out to the yard to work on his psionics. Liam had a small gift in psionic abilities, just some basic shields and something that was similar to pushing something from afar, as well as a small talent for Telekinetics. In all, his psychic abilities were very weak. But he did the only thing he could do, Practice. He had his chestplate and gloves sitting to the side so he was just in his Plateskirt and Greaves and his tight underarmor.

Thus far he was having little success in lifting a fifteen pound stone off the ground, it would Shake a little bit but in the end remain stationary. Eventually Liam got tired of not making any progress with the rocks and went into the manor to set some tea to boil, perhaps once the guardian came about they could talk over a cup of tea before heading out.

Elisha was beginning to wonder if they would ever get to the Manor, they had left the town about half an hour ago going down the road that was to take them straight to the Manor, and so far nothing! Elisha was very much accustomed to walking in between townships and villages, which could take days at a time depending on the pace, but the Sinclair Manor was the seat of power within the Fiefdom. One would expect it to be closer to the town.

It wasn't much longer before Elisha could see the Manor within her sights, but the Guard had been wrong, they would not make it within the hour. The Manor was at the crest of the next hill, and to say it was huge, was quite honestly an understatement. The so called Manor, could have been a castle. "Gods above that place is huge!"

The soldier merely chuckled, "The Sinclair family is among the richest families in all of Serendipity, probably the world for that matter, they are a very lucrative bunch."

Elisha was dumbfounded, how could anyone afford any of this? This was insane!

Inside the main lobby, the butler at the door had said there were a total of eight lobbies before even coming to a sitting room, Elisha was just amazed, the Sinclair family must not know the meaning of the words 'spared expenses'. The butler bowed and with a sweeping motion gestured to the next room. "If you two would kindly wait in the next room, I shall retrieve master Liam."

"Master Liam!" Called the butler, walking into the kitchen. "There is a guest here for you Sir! A very attractive young woman and a rugged looking ruffian. Shall I escort you to them?"

"No thank you Jarvis," Liam said, setting three cups of tea atop a silver dish. "I can take things from here."

"Very good Sir"

Liam was about to head out but then he thought of something. "Hey, Jarvis?"

"Yes Sir?"

"Can you make sure my pack has a fair amount of clothes? And bring it to me in about half an hour."

"Very well, Sir. It will be done."

Liam walked into the Main Sitting Room, one of many actually, this is really what he hated about this whole place, it was so vast and expansive and needlessly repetitive. Honestly, who needs eight lobbies the another twelve sitting rooms. Some contractor when out of their bloody mind coming up with this place.

Fixing his gaze upon the young woman, the right half of his mouth twisted up in a smile, Jarvis was right, she was very attractive. "Elisha Radia, I'm assuming? Would you care for some tea? My name I Liam Sinclair."

Elisha couldn't help but be a bit shocked, she was expecting an older knight, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He couldn't possible be much older than she was herself, his eyes tell of a boy who was forced to become a man well before his time, and his appearance seems to be rejecting the fact that he is no longer just a child, that is to say he still has much of his youthful adolescent charm.

The Soldier who had accompanied her to the manor shrugged off the offer of tea, "Make your way to the Barracks before you leave town, The Captain of the guard has something for you, There you will also learn the perimeters of your assignment. God Speed, Sir Sinclair." The Soldier then did the Sworn Solute, the right hand curled into a fist and placed over the heart, the left also curled into a fist and placed behind the heart, on the back.

Elisha took the offered tea, taking a sip before recoiling in surprise rather than distaste. "It's cold! And sweet!" This were a real surprise to her. Tea had only ever been hot and bitter, less you were use a bit of honey but that was hard to come by without getting a few nasty stings.
