((Yes. I know I'm the only person in the thread. Yes. That's how it's going to work. Yes. I'm going to seem like I'm spamming posts.))

Scene 1: Janette's First Time

Janette stared miserably at her new best friend.

A dead rat in the corner.

It was a lifeless, rotting little reminder of her little cobbled box. She had a window, about the size of her head, and that was it. Not even a cellmate.

She was in Uthlyn jail alright.

It wasn't a nice cell. Literally a drain for a toilet, mossy, wet cobblestones comprised the walls around her, as well as a wooden door. All she had for a bed was some straw and a raggedy old blanket.

No heat was in her cell. No cleanliness. She thought she had been dirty before, but this was unbelievable. She wanted out and she had been in there five minutes.

Was it five minutes? She couldn't remember. Maybe it was ten.

At this stage time didn't matter. Time could be measured in days. When she lost count of those, then she'd worry.

The guard that patrolled the corridor stopped by her door, waiting a moment before knocking.

"Yes?" Janette replied rather timidly.

"What you in for?" The gruff voice replied from the other side of the door, with his thick, heavy accent hard to decipher.

"Oh... That... It's a long story..." Janette sighed, wondering how long she'd be in there.

"You've got time..." The guard was clearly bored, and that made Janette wonder if the other prisoners got asked their stories.

"Well... It began like this..."

Scene 2: "Ok Guys... This Isn't Funny Anymore...."

Janette sat in her cell, and sniffled slightly. It was day three of eating gruel, sleeping with water dripping on her face, and no visits, messages or anything. She was stuck in here, and getting out wasn't a problem.

She'd tried seducing the guard, but the guard was stalwart in that he would not have sex with her. She'd begun to think they were wise to her, and had provided her a guard who was utterly devoted to the most attractive woman in Connlaoth.

But that was her bigging herself up in a place where she had nothing. In her she was scrawny, she was nobility.

She had a bulls eye on the back of her, and she knew it.

She wanted out.

Surely they're worried that I haven't been home for 3 days. Surely? They wouldn't abandon me, they're my family. She tried for the next ten minutes to convince herself that she was going to get out tomorrow. That they were working on it already.

Please get me out of here...

((OOC: So, Treyburns, it's showtime. Start your worrying.))

Wicked Basket

Janette had been trapped in that dark little cell for five days now, or maybe six. The days just seemed to melt together. Regardless of how long it had been, her solitude was about to come to an end.

Grazen Kried was led roughly down the corridor by a pair of guards because they believed him too dangerous to be escorted by just one. Although, truth be told, two wouldn't have stopped him if he was really determined to leave. The demon inside was what stopped him for lashing out for it surely would have escaped had he put up a fight.

The guards and their prisoner soon arrived at Janette's cell. The guards opened the door and roughly threw Grazen inside and quickly shut the door behind him.
''Play nice, kiddies,'' one of the guards said as both guards walked away.

Grazen's eyes soon found Janette and he let out a disappointed sigh.
''I figured that they would torture me, but this,'' he said gesturing toward Janette, ''is crossing the line.''
Grazen then moved to a corner of the cell and sat down without another word and drew up his right leg to rest his right arm on. He might as well get comfy, he was going to be there for awhile.

Janette panicked when the door opened. She was worried someone would come up with something on the murder. "It wasn't me, I swe-!" She shut up when this new man was thrown in her cell, and realised she was cowering in a corner like a trapped dog.

"Well, fuck you too in all honesty." She muttered under her breath, moving so that it was inaudible.

"That's no way to speak to a lady you've only just goddamn met. Didn't your mother teach you any manners?" Janette sat opposite him, in a slightly more ladylike fashion. She pulled the blanket they would be force to share over herself as if to say "I was here first, don't touch my blanket", covering herself to keep warm.

"I'm Janette by the way! Nice to meet you. What you in for?"

Wicked Basket

''Manners,'' he spat, ''manners are a luxury. I can't afford luxuries.
Grazen began idly tracing over the intricate designs on the back of his hand with his finger. He had traced over those lines so many times that he could probably recreate them on a piece of paper while blindfolded. Grazen ignored what Janette had said and instead told her, ''You don't look like the criminal type. What are you even doing in here?''

Brisinger987

"Right, I think we need to lay down some ground rules. This is MY cell. You answer to me, you got that? No funny business, nothing you wouldn't say to your own mother, understood?" Janette scolded the man like she owned the place.

If the place was the cell.

"I am in here for reasons. You answer my question first." Janette's tone was exceptionally bossy and almost motherly. She just missed interacting with people. She was already out of touch with her way with men. Best start again by getting this guy trained up.

Wicked Basket

Grazen stood, walked over to Janette, and got right in her face so that she could clearly see the markings on his face.
''You are very bold,'' he said threatening. ''Whether it is bravery or stupidity remains to be seen. I answer to no one, especially not to the likes of you. If I didn't hate being lonely, I could kill you so fast that you'd be dead by the time you figured out what was happening. I'm in here because I'm a killer and if you keep acting the way you are, I might feel the need to prove that claim.''
Grazen returned to his corner and sat back down. Whoever this girl was, she sure was a fiesty one.

Brisinger987

Janette did cower slightly when he threatened her. Then she started to cry.

"I hate this place... I want to leave, right now... I'm not cut out for the life of a petty thief. I'm just a nobleman's daughter for gods sake, I shouldn't be in here... But they think I killed some other nobleman, and if they think I did, they could execute me. I don't wanna die!" Janette's tears were almost genuine.

She was really trying to get a judge of his character, and how she could gain control. If a sobbing Janette had more control, then she would find reasons to cry.

Wicked Basket

''You say that as if it would change anything,'' Grazen said matter-of-factly. ''Everyone's gotta die someday, and when that day comes you have to meet it with dignity, not bawling like some child.''
Still, her words took him off-guard. Was she really a nobleman's daughter or was she just putting on a show? Grazen decided not to buy into her performance. If she was lying, she would eventually give up if she did not receive the reaction she was looking for.

Brisinger987

"You're a tough one. Ok, I confess, I'm confident that my family will get me out of here. If they choose to execute you though, then that's their choice. I'll claim you defiled me. Have you executed on those charges. Now I bet that scares you..." Janette was trying desperately to gain control over this man, to make him bend to her whims.

"I doubt you want those special bits chopped off. So I suggest you follow my rules. Simple." Janette knew this was risky. The man was intimidating, but she was seeing if she could control him through threats. She was starting to get desperate.

Wicked Basket

''You honestly think that death frightens me,'' he asked.
Grazen held up his hands so that Janette could see the seals that were tatooed on them.
''Don't you know what these are? Do you know what these do? Do you know why there here?''
Grazen was getting tired of this girl. She was trying to get control and find some kind of leverage to use against him. He did not like telling people his secret, but it's wasn't anything that others didn't already know. It was one of the reasons that he was in jail in the first place and if it got this girl to shut her mouth, it would be worth it.

Brisinger987

"Right, that's it." Janette decided not to listen, and instead stood up grabbing him by his tunic and trying to lift him into the air.

"I don't care if you are Angsar himself. Right now, you listen to me, and only me, understood? I'm the boss bitch round here, and if you don't like it, then tough shit, understood? Go ahead, kill me, see where that gets you. But right now, until I'm dead or out of this cell, you listen to me, and you do as I say." Janette's eyes were almost glowing with rage.

"Do I make myself crystal clear?!"

Wicked Basket

Grazen would have started laughing at Janette's attempt to lift him if she did not launch into her rant and claim supremecy. That, however, could not be allowed to stand. Grazen's hand shot forward and clamped down on Janette's throat. He lifted into the air and tossed her to the other side of the little cell.
''Power does not come to one who simply demands it,'' he said, doing the scolding this time. ''You want me to do as you say then you earn my respect and make me inclined to follow. Simply demanding authority over a complete stranger won't get you anywhere except dead in a gutter. Do I make MYself clear?''
Grazen's eyes has gone from green to red and he could feel the demon trying to claw its way out. He hoped that this last statement had been sufficient. The demon was getting anxious.

Brisinger987

Janette hit the wall and a rather nasty crunch resounded.

It was too much pain for her and she screamed as she looked at her now broken arm. She couldn't call for help though, the guards wouldn't care. She simply cried and tried to move as far away from Grazen as possible, terrified of the man who had just broken her arm.

She tried to form words, mostly curses of pain, but she was simply in too much agony. Her arm was clearly broken, as it had slightly misshapen itself on impact.

"Gotta... Put it... Back...." She screamed again as she touched it to try and put the bones back in line. It hurt way too much for her to do anything. Way too much.

Wicked Basket

Grazen sighed. He hadn't meant to seriously hurt her, just scare her. His eyes immediately returned to their green color as he approached and examined her arm.
''It needs to be set,'' he confirmed. ''Hold still. I'll set it on the count of three.''
Grazen gently took hold of her arm and on the count of one he realigned her broken bone and clamped his hand over her mouth to dampen the scream that was sure to follow.

Brisinger987

Janette did several things when he set the bone. Scream. Tense. White out. Her eyes went wide and wild, and she actually completely froze in place while her mind tried to recover from the pain. Then when she did recover, she simply just slumped against the wall and cried in pain. At least the break would heal well.

"Thank you..." Janette realised she had only two options. She could ask this stranger for his tunic to use as a sling. Or she could use her own tunic.

He just set the bone in place. The least I can do is provide my own sling.

She removed her tunic, baring her chest, and turned it into a makeshift sling.

"Hey, it's all we've got. Before you judge me." She pulled herself over to the straw and the blanket and put the blanket round herself to preserve some decency.

Wicked Basket

Grazen merely shrugged as she used her own shirt as a sling. He would have provided a sling of his own since he was the one that broke the arm, but it was her choice. Grazen once returned to his corner of the cell and sat down. In no time at all, Grazen once again began tracing the intricate seals on his hands with his finger. Grazen never felt any remorse for all the people he had killed for bounties, but for some reason he couldn't help but feel kind of bad for breaking her arm. Still, there was nothing he could do about it now. It is pointless to try to change the past.

Brisinger987

Janette finally managed to stop crying after about 30 minutes, and finally found strength to talk.

"You never... Answered my question... Why are you here?" Janette sniffled slightly, her nose still running, as she looked at the man who had broken her arm then set it for her. It was strange, but she respected him now. It might have been fear, but she wasn't going to challenge him right now.

"If you want me to say first, I will... And I'm sorry about earlier..."

Wicked Basket

''I already told you,'' Grazen replied, ''I'm a killer. I'm a bounty hunter for a living, but apparently around here they want you to ask permission before you start killing people.''
Grazen was silent for a moment before lifting up his right hand and adding, ''and because of this.''
He didn't feel like elaborating on what ''this'' was anymore and he figured she wouldn't question him anymore after what he had just done.
''So what about you?''

Brisinger987

"Mine sounds rather petty next to yours. I trespassed into a nobleman's house, stole a load of stuff, and then the guy was murdered, they chased us, and my group ditched me, leaving me to take the blame for the murder, the thievery and the trespassing." Janette realised how much she hated them for leaving her like that. They had abandoned her. She would have gone back for any of them, and they abandoned her. Great choice of friends.

"I'm actually from nobility. I just can't stand living in luxury. But I do miss it right now..." Janette sighed. She'd been in here a whole week. Or was it five days? Or maybe six. She couldn't remember. She wanted her family to get her out.
