But then his hand gripped her face and her breath squeaked away from her, chest rising and falling rapidly with fear. Her eyes were large as he made his demands, and her eyes welled with tears.

"Because the church is a vile beast, corrupt and unjust- nothing like they preach!"

The Never King- a king erased from history because of his dabblings in dark magic (among other things...) suddenly because a present day problem when an unlikely group of adventurers 'awakens' him from the grave. I ran the Connlaothian civil war. For more info, check out it's page here. The war has now turned into a 'Cold War' with it's plotting page found here. It's no longer a huge site wide event but the scars are there.

Attalia's scream was caught in her throat as he tore at her clothing, nearly exposing her in the fire light. But even as she twisted, tried to move, tried to scream, tried to break free; she knew it was useless. No matter what she did, it seemed the fire in the man's eyes only glowed more sickly with hunger.

"There is no maybe where you're concerned!" came her hot retort, laced with the fire that made her buck. "Let me go!"
