The people stared aghast as a long figure walked up the main street toward the local Baron's estate. The giant unmistakable frame of a Sea Wolf Raider gave immediate pause to all activity, silencing the dull roaring white noise of a town into the hushed lull of whispers not dared said aloud.

Sea Wolves were notorious for the fact that they arrive with the morning high tide, ravage the township of any and all goods and slaves, then they leave with the morning tide, a burning city in their wake. While the Village of Multa Grove was way too far inland to be a target for such raids, the fact that they were nearly surrounded by forests and sitting practically on the edge of Bandit Country, not to mention that four neighboring villages had been ransacked in as many years, had only fuel imagination beyond reality. The Sea Wolf would be a reason for a great deal of stress and talk for many seasons to come, despite the fact that his axe was holstered and the Giant walked in a very non-threatening manner.

Later that evening, Baron Holtshire stared very perplexed as a Sea Wolf stood, very respectfully at that, before his throne. "So you, a Sea Wolf would like to buy land from me, the baron who's lands have been raided by Wolf Ships every year for four years consecutively?"

Erak's low deep sounded throughout the room. "That is correct, and while I know it is merely of consequence, the ship that I served on were not the ships that raided your shores, the Diavahli never once raided the coasts of Serendipity."

The Baron seemed to ponder this for a moment, "I happen to have an estate for sale, well... in truth, it is actually very raw and heavily forested land about a quarter mile west of Multa Grove, 150 acres. Only eighty pounds of gold."

Erak did even wait to consider it, he was already shifting one of the bags from across his back. "What is the name of the place?"

"Wolf Haunt Woods." The Baron answered.

Erak dropped the bag of gold then took the deed to the land from the Steward, "Wolf Haunt Estate" the Sea Wolf corrected, walking out the door, off to stop by the tavern and hopefully staying at the inn, then scope out his land in the morning.

Kelly leaned over and poured some more ale into a local's drink. Her tired brown eyes flicked over to the window, wondering how much longer she'd have to stay that night. She was ready to go home, cuddle with her husband, and read their young son a book. But she needed the money.

Her ears twitched as the door opened. Plastering on a fake smile, she started to look up and greet, "Welcome, good s—" Kelly's voice cut off and her mouth rudely opened as she took in the man who just entered. He was gigantic... a good eight feet, if not nine. She closed her lips and gazed at him suspiciously. Should she escort him out? He looked like the kind that would start a fight. Or rob them. But... well, it's not like she could make him leave.

However, there was no way he didn't have quite the stomach at that size. Maybe if she played her cards right and got him lots of food and drinks, she could get a pleasant tip. Then she could buy herself a new dress.

The smile from before returned to Kelly as she added, "Excuse me, I was just caught a little off guard." She walked towards him and curtsied. "Would you prefer a seat at the bar or at a table?"

Erak nodded, "it happens ma'am, and table if you please, one next to a wall." The Sea wolf figured with his height and extreme weight, the wooden chairs would not support him, best to sit on the floor, he would still have enough abdominal height to rise above the table, maybe even eat in relative comfort.
