Life at the Academy had become fairly routine for Rend, having been thrust into its demanding arms at the age of fifteen. And with that familiar monotony Rend made his way along the serving queue, took his meal and sat at the Soldier's table. Although not quite a veteran soldier, Rend still found that for the most part he command a fair amount of respect from those at the Academy.

Having been familiar with many of the teachers and trainers from a young age due to his noble birth, Rend had often seen these people since his youthful days of playing in the castle grounds. So it had been of little surprise to Rend to have found comfort and support from a great many of these people after... Well, after.

Given this, Rend still found his relationships with the trainers at the Academy to be strong, and less teachery since his rise to the rank of Soldier. A few were aware of his higher ambitions, but few knew the ultimate truths of Rend's desires. And he preferred it that way. But for the most part, he was on good terms with them all.

Crunching a piece of lettuce between his teeth, Rend scanned the trainee tables for any sign of the lad he had met earlier today. Trouble was he couldn't remember the fellow's name. Whether he had been told or not escaped him. He could hardly put in a good word with his teacher if he had no name to work with. Still his eyes swept over the hall.

Nothing yet. He decided to let it go for the time being and engaged in light conversation with the other soldiers at his table until meal time had ended. He knew there was free time for a couple of hours before lights out, and hopefully he could catch the youth in that time. There was much he felt the two could learn from each other.
