Om wasn't sure how to respond.

Also, it didn't have a range of response to give. But for this, it simply nodded it's large shiny face.

It didn't eat in the conventional way mortals did. It survived by moving in the energies that flooded this world and gave it it's life. Kind of like how a fish moves through the water to get oxygen into it's lungs. If a fish got the nutrition it needed by simply swimming through the water too. It wasn't a perfect way to explain it, but it was the best parallel to be drawn.

Om lowered it's large head, the grass tickling the edge of the mirror. It's etched smile bowed up until it formed a frown. Before all the etchings moved around to form a question mark. Was the girl mad? Scared? Should Om just play it safe and run? Or would it be safer for it to follow the curious woodland girl?

Cara stared at Om, just rather confused. After a very long while of this confusion, she moved to rub at her eye, frowning. "...are you a monster? Like a demon or an undead?" She asked, tilting her head. Perhaps, this was the first time she didn't fling those questions like an accusation. No, today she was more confused.

"You don't look like one..." She said, stepping forwards and reaching out her hand rather carefully. As Cara did so, a few plants and foliage around her reached out, as well. It seemed she was so wrapped up in her wonder, that even the plants were wondering with her.

Om would shake it's head, coupled with a jingle sound. It's tail flicked as it stood there and stared at the girl. It had to think of a way to communicate. It's been so long since it's communicated with mortals that it was having trouble remembering how it did manage it before....

It knew that they could understand symbols. But it didn't know the symbols they understood. It would have to make an effort in learning them one day. Perhaps it could use something it already knew to communicate. The etchings that made up its face shifted around to form a mandala pattern. The pattern slowly turned as Om emitted a low ringing noise to attempt to lull the confused girl into a trance.

Hopefully she was willing to let herself fall into a trance with a strange being.

Now, Cara was not exactly weak-willed. No, not at all. However, she was rather gullible, and was prone to falling for tricks.

So it was that Cara stared at the pattern. It was so strange. The girl's one-eyed vision trailed the thing, rather enthralled. She had never seen such a thing, and the ringing noise did cause Cara to fall into the trance, as Om had intended. The vines and roots and flora around Cara began to fade into their natural state, showing that she had become rather vulnerable, her control of nature slipping away, if only briefly.
