Dont mean to sound stupid but where do i put this?

Not stupid at all!!! My fault for not saying. Go to near the top of a page where it says profile and on the drop down menu it will say "forum profile" click on that. Down in a box that should say signature is where you put it.

do i put the link in the brakets then name then link again in 2nd brakets

No you just put the link where it says the word link and the name where it says name. Like this
