Aeizith had come across two dead horsemen, their bodies torn to bloody shreds. This place was about as lawless an environment as he's seen... More insane than Eyssrn, less laws than La'maari. As the dragon was picking through the belongings of one of the recently slain men, the dragon came across many wonderful treasures... treasures that would do well to help him fortify his hoard once again... He may have been a meek and humble dragon, a sweet little thing that wouldn't attack unless done unto him, but he still had an innate dragon's erg to build up a stockpile of stuff... He found bags of gold of various amounts, a nice short-sword that glowed a ghastly green... he'd hand it over his fire-place... He found a nice pair of blue leather gloves so elaborate and covered with gems, it made the dragon's sanguine eyes sparkle as the gems did in the mid-morning sun... He let out a soft sigh of contentment as he slipped all three things into his coat pockets, sifting through the dead-man's one last time to make sure he hadn't missed anything... and indeed he had...

There, in his hands, rested a very dirty and long unsuspecting key, but one that practically danced with magical power... In fact, it didn't just feel powerful, but it felt alive... it's as if he could feel a piece of consciousness in between his fingers, writhing and twisting for any chance at escape from it's confinement within the brass. Aeizith stared into it's metal, intrigued, definitely taking an interest in the unusual nature of this item. Perhaps it opened a certain door or locked one up because it had no head he'd ever seen before... It certainly was no pedestrian key, if the infusion of consciousness wasn't evidence enough. Staring at it a moment longer, the dragon stuffed it too into his jacket before leaning down to the dead man's neck and sinking his teeth into his flesh, drinking in his life juices with a hungry relish. He hated doing this.... but he had no choice... he was hungry...

However... not long after he began feeding... a dark presence began to loom behind him as multiple creatures formed from the dark. Slowly, Aeizith rose from the blood-soaked neck he was feeding from, ice suddenly shooting out across the ground the imps-from-the-abyss stood upon, their tentacles whipping about wildly, aggressively, as if the dragon had stolen something of theirs. The dragon didn't care and those beasts couldn't have picked a worse time to interact with him... with this new blood flowing through his veins, the dragon had entered something of a blood-rage, an adrenaline rush of sorts that made him stronger faster, but fuzzed up his mind to the point he embodied the beast he was.... Without even a gesture spikes rose from the ice, impaling the plate-faced demons through the chest, arms head in nearly an instant, black mist radiating out where blood should, but these beasts were far tougher than mortal flesh. Mere impalement wouldn't kill. The monsters clawed at the spikes that impaled them, ripping at the ice in an effort to tear themselves free, but the ice only widened in width, stretched and as such, their bodies stretched as well, ripping apart at the seams until one by one, they fell to the ground in pieces of two, torn in half by the dragon-vampire without him even raising a hand. As the dragon approached one of the beasts to feed of it, their bodies faded into nothingness before him, leaving the feral vampire alone, confused... and very hungry.

Running was tiring... But worth it. That's what she thought anyways. Narumi would be sprinting across the forest floor at full speed, her large fox body bounding through the trees. Her shear size caused a few to loose their roots and shake slightly, but the fox maiden didn't care. Something had triggered in her mind only a few hours prior. Something related to her old world...

It was a sudden sensation she couldn't even explain, but it was there. A unshakable urge to seek out the source of a powerful magical signal going off in her brain. The power was intoxicating, and she could not resist at all! The Fox would be leaping over fallen trees and small rivers to get to the source of this magic as fast as her four legs could possibly carry her. And that's when she finally broke out of the treeline.

She'd stop for a moment, taking in the massive plains that laid before her. Sniffing the air, she'd pick up various scents across the savanna, but only one interested her. The scent of a magical being not too far from her. And what laid next to it belonged to her! She'd begin running through the large plains, her massive, long black body could've been easily spotted in this environment but she didn't care. Nothing would be stupid enough to attack her now. Not on the hunt.

Soon she found it. The scene... Two dead horses laid before the massive fox as she sniffed the ground around it, and she also found something interesting. Their bodies were broken, but Narumi could easily see the two bite marks in the dead men's necks... Someone had taken down these men and their horses, but what? She'd flick her ear around and turn into the direction of the east. The setting sun behind her. WHat she had been looking for had already come and gone by now... And soon it would be night. Growling with slight annoyance, she'd begin running again towards the scent of what appeared to be the only survivor of this fatal encounter.

Only a few hours more, and Narumi had caught up... In the distance, her magic picked up the presence of a person. Not a regular human by far... He was very powerful. Gritting her teeth, she'd pick up the speed. WHoever this was she didn't care! They had something of hers! SOmething she was looking for was in his hands... And she needed. She didn't care what means she had to take to achieve that goal... The night had caused the area to darken significantly, creating a natural camo for the giant black fox. The only thing visible on her body from afar would be the faint glowing blue streaks along her fur and her fierce eyes. Soon she'd get close enough to attack.... And she did. With full force the massive fox leaped in the air behind the man, preparing to snatch him up in her massive jaws...

It wasn't long before the little ice dragon realized he was being stalked... Stalked by something big and powerful. Perhaps if she was chasing after a being even a little less powerful than this ice dragon, she would've remained completely unseen but with the dragon the way he was now, freshly fed, his magic recently discharged, fresh power running through his veins... It was feint enough, but he knew she was there. He didn't pick up the pace, though... He didn't just *blink* on out of there and let the monster's jaws touch air... He wasn't in the mood for cowardice... not today... And as the jaws of the massive fox-thing came down on him, the dragon did take one step away, but just enough only to assert his ground before raising his arm between her and her neck as her teeth came down, the monster's jaws coming to a stop as her fangs bit around something hard, something tougher than any human metals, something stronger than the toughest of buildings: Dragon scales. Aeizith stared up at the best, his strength holding, though struggling against the might of this massive black fox, his draconic might holding up at least for now.

"Why..." He growled, his closing for a moment as his face contorted in not strain or pain, but frustration. "Why do you attack ME!?" Suddenly, his eyes shot open, his pupils not round like that of a human or vampire, but slit like that of a cat... or dragon. Spontaneously, wings sprouted from Aeizith's back, his cloths fading into his form as he expanded and grew, growing at least to the size of the giant fox if not larger. Before too long, a young, but immensely powerful black dragon stood before the black spirit creature before him, letting out a roar of power and dominance in an effort to display his full power. Frost fell from his skin, his scales a shiny white, reflecting off the moonlight, no eyes where they should be... only sunken holes with a dark red light radiating out from inside...

With a screech, Aeizith took to the air, ripping his arm free from the fox's mouth in the process, his mighty wings creating blasts of air that would bare down on the fox-creature from above.

As Naru lunged downwards onto the man, her teeth were met with fierce resistance! Of course! How could she have been so stupid to realize he had probably sensed her from a mile away? After all, she had made no attempt to hide her approach. Damn it! This would only make things harder... She bit hard into the scales, causing no damage. But holding her grip as she snarled at the man. She could sense the power surging through him like lightning, and she could feel the cold grip of ice slowly climbing up her teeth and snout as she held her ground. However, not long after he would manage to shake the massive fox off of him. She'd roll in the tall grass a few feet before standing up again... All instinct of a sentient being had vanished... Only a bloodthirsty animal remained. The odds were too great. SHE COULD NOT LOSE THIS FIGHT.

When the man had revealed his true self, Narumi switched to a more careful stance, instead of brute force. So he was a dragon after all... Interesting. This would only make things harder. The ice dragon was large and black, just like the fox. Both were in similar size, but the dragon was slightly larger than herself... She'd simply growl at him, saliva dripping from her mouth as if she was some sort of rabid monster... Which would have easily been the case. The monster in front of her let out a dominating roar and took flight, sending massive wind blasts to knock the fox off her feet. They had indeed caught the fox spirit off guard at first. She was expecting some sort of breath attack, but instead was met with rushing winds. The sheer force and power caused her to roll again in the grass several feet backwards... Whoever this was... She couldn't afford to underestimate him. He was by far very powerful... She had to amp up her game.

Slowly the massive black fox would rise to her feet, shaking her head and growling up at the dragon. Soon her eyes glowed an icy color, and the sides of her body did the same. A blue streak of magical energy traced across her body and ended at the tip of her large tail. And then it split! Her massive tail had split suddenly into nine fox tails all at once! All had ends glowing with blue magical energy. With an furious animalistic roar, all nine tails would become engulfed in blue fire! The flames catching onto the long dry grass around her. She'd then swing her tails around, they produced fireballs streaking into the air towards the ice dragon.

The ice dragon's gusts of wind managed to force the gigantic fox off her feet for a short distance though did little more than that... To a normal man, they would've been crushed by air-pressure alone, ignoring the shrapnel and and obstacles all together. To this giant creature, however, the pressure was little more than an inconvenience, as evidenced when she soon got up, and not one or two tails appeared, but a full 9 and their tips began to glow with a sinister ghostly blue flame. With a mighty swing from her tail, the fox threw a volley of 9 fireballs up at the dragon who did the only thing a flier like him would do in this situation: He tucked his wings and dove straight at them. Aeizith was naturally the fastest out of his siblings on land or in the air, but he was also the best flier of them all... He was able to outmaneuver his older siblings when he barely grew into his childhood and was able to run circles around them whenever he was feeling childish. Though these fire-balls were powerful, large and close-knit, they were nothing compared to an onslaught of an angry black-hearth dragon. Opening his wings only barely to maneuver himself, Aeizith spun out of the way of the first two fireballs and ducking under the following pair, their flame licking his scales almost disappointingly.

Closing the distance on the giant fox and her remaining 5 fireballs, Aeizith opened his mouth to reveal a light, icy-blue light as a frosty mist seeped out from between his teeth and jaws. With a screech, 5 thin blasts of icy lightning arched out from his mouth as he reached the incoming fire, slamming into the fox's attack with a hissing of a thousand snakes as it all turned to steam before them, clouding the Dragon's vision of the fox and in turn, her vision of him. But Aeizith had been around for a long time and now he had the (more)finely tuned senses of a vampire at his command... simply shutting down sight wouldn't stop or even hinder the dragon's assault. From out of the steam the dragon slammed into the fox from above, his body weight not quite as impressive as hers, but still enough to knock her off her feet, the pair of giant creatures rolling away into the grasses below them.

With his wings tucked to his back, the ice-dragon was able to barely wrestle his way atop the fox-spirit, his claws pinning her down by her shoulders while his back legs knelt at her hips, her flaming tails lying behind her with Aeizith's a ways above. Slowly, the dragon's head reared back, frost emanating from his mouth once again, blasting a wave of cold upon the fox's face.

Codex

Narumi's fire lit up the entire surrounding area as it quickly spread among the grass! Creating an ominous blue glow in the field where they fought as the magical flames lit up the night. The fireballs weren't as successful as she had hope they'd be, the dragon apparently able to dodge most of them and dive straight towards her. This of course was unexpected, and as the dragon rammed his body into hers, she was indeed knocked backwards as the two wrestled with each other down the hill At the hills bottom, the dragon managed to pin Narumi down underneath him, and was preparing for a killing blow of frost... It would not come. As he reared his head back, he left his entire neck exposed. With a sudden thrust of her head, Narumi's sharp canines bit into the dragon's scaly throat. She bit down hard, trying to hold her grip on him. With this new opening, her legs would kick the dragon's stomach to remove his weight on her. And with such strength not of a regular beast, she rolled the two over. Using her entire force, and the dragon's body weight to her advantage, she swung him around by the throat and through the air slightly as he rolled into the grass... Blood dripping from her teeth with a feral glare.

Her tails would ignite again, their blue flames quickly lit more grass surrounding them. Suddenly, a huge ring of fire would erupt around the two, the blue fire climbing high. Creating some sort of makeshift arena. With a furious rar, Narumi stood on her hind legs for a moment, and slammed her two front paws on the ground in front of her. Suddenly, the dirt began to crack with blue energy, and sped towards her target. A shockwave of sorts. The earth heaved and splintered below the dragon. Narumi did this hoping to force him into flight once again. If she was correct in her prediction of his evasive tactics, she'd swing her flaming tails again releasing a huge firestorm of blue flame straight towards the dragon.

In fact, the fox managed to rear her head up just enough to bite the bare edges of his lower neck, her teeth barely sinking between the chinks of his scales, managing to scrape the tender flesh just enough to cause it to bleed. Unluckily for her, she got close enough for her mouth the freeze in place upon contact with his scales, her jaws locked in place by the ice, no longer able to clamp down or pull back.

That didn't seem to hamper her though as she attempted to scrabble her way on top, kicking his scaled belly with her clawed toes. Given their relatively equal strength, she managed to topple the dragon, though at a price. Her attempt to shove him over only gave Aeizith the momentum he needed to crane his serpentine neck around and bite the fox-spirit on the side of her neck, his frost already flooding into the interior of her body, chilling her to the bone (if she possessed such things). Meanwhile, the dragon clawed at her arms and shoulders, cutting her skin as she brought her own arms down, slamming into the ground at either side of the dragon's neck... The next thing he knew... Aeizith was in free-fall, the ground suddenly taken out from underneath him as the fox hurled him into the air, but he wasn't sent far before he managed to right himself mid tumble, his areal agility playing a major role in his survival. Aeizith lowered himself to the ground and stood it (his ground lol) as the shockwave barreled towards him, displacing the ground and threatening to do the same to him as a result. Folding his wings over his head, Aeizith took the brunt of the impact... only to be met with the approaching wave of flame jettisoned from her tail.

As the flames engulfed his position and died off... it was revealed that the little ice dragon was no longer there, instead, his incredible speed positioned him above the fox only a moment later... Aeizith was well known (at least in his family) to have been the fastest natural creature alive and just then... he had proved it. The dragon folded his wings upon his back and dove down into the fox, landing on her back and forcing her to the ground with a growl of pleasure. Opening his jaws, the dragon snapped his mouth around the back of the fox's head and jerked one way, then the other, his claws tearing at her ribs and stomach and hide, claws that cut stone like paper. One could hardly see the smoke radiating off his scales, nor the burn-splotches across his shining hide... One might've thought he was completely untouched by her flames...

Narumi's vision kept fading in and out. The blurriness combined with the seering chill running through her neck caused the Fox to look distorted for a moment or two, as saliva dripped from her mouth. Whatever the a dragon was, it had some sort of venomous bite. And it was working its way through her body. Trying her best to focus on the task at hand, the beast's mind raced back to focus on the opponent as he was covered in hot blue flames. Only to realize they had no effect on him. Narumi couldn't be mad, she knew it was a long shot trying to use fire on a dragon. Even if said dragon was an ice elemental. Growling, Narumi slowly stalked around the lizard, shaking her head every few seconds, as the venom seeped through her body and continued to cloud her vision. Wouldn't have been useful if she had a poison bite? It would've helped significantly, but alas, her combat style was made for fighting evil spirits, not physical threats of an unknown world.

Breathing in as more saliva dripped from her mouth, Narumi prepared to attack again. However, it would not be the same as her previous attempt though. No, this time all restraint was off, knowing this dragon wouldn't go down easily. Narumi's entire body began to light up with a blue magic as the lines streaked across her chest. The very ground around her began to burn up with the sense of ancient primal magic seeping into the surroundings. And then suddenly, she was gone. And with her absence, the blue fire vanished as well... Almost as if someone had blown out the candle. Everything went dead quiet in the field... And then she reappeared.

A blue flash ignited behind the Ice dragon, and with it, Narumi's 9 tails swung around to collide with the lizard. With tremendous force, they were strong enough to send massive wagons flying over their sides. Assuming they hit, the tails would trace blue flames along whatever they came into contact with... Life draining fire. Now the clock was ticking, as both beasts had been infected. Narumi's neck still felt cold as the grave, but now the dragon would feel his very life force begin to drain as the small flames burned on his side. And no mere force of wind would put them out.

Aeizith let out a screeching wail at the fox, his voice radiating out through the air like claws raking across stone. He felt the ice in her blood, the slow pain of her body freezing inside and out driving her had... It was clear by the way she stood, her head jerking side to side, her mouth overflowing with saliva, the look in her eyes that seemed to lose any apparent sense of self. The dragon was old indeed, and felt magics even older than he seep into the area around him. In fact, it seemed to COME from the area around him, from the plants, the sky and the rocks... they all seemed to surge with magical energies... In an instant, the fox was gone... and another, he could feel her presence behind him, her magics not going undetected whether they were ancient or not.

With a loud roar, Aeizith reared back, a HUGE surge of cold and ice exploding from his body faster than even the dragon could travel, encompassing the entire forest in a massive cone of ice thicker than any bergs found on the ocean. Narumi would feel the pressure of tons upon tons of ice and snow crushing in on her from all sides, likely immobilizing her if the chill alone didn't cause her muscles and bones to ice over.

Aeizith winced as his body began to slip through the ice thanks to his cryomancy, a blue flame danced along his blackened scales, feeling his energy slip away into it's hungry maw... feeding it... he could feel exactly where his energy was going... it was unmistakable... But where had it come from... The dragon looked back and saw Narumi's tails all burning with the same fire despite the blue ice that surrounded them, it's sinister glow the same as that upon his arm...

Aeizith let out a heave as he made it out of the iceberg, his wings propelling him upwards until he reached the point of the icy construct... He didn't want to kill such a being... not like this... but he had no choice... she was giving him no choice!

He clenched one claw, the ice-berg seeming to recede in on itself when, in reality, it was condensing even further, the pressure on Narumi increasing while the magic veil within said ice growing stronger as well, making her drawing on her ancient magics a bit harder... If she wished to draw on magic outside herself... she'd have to draw on Aeizith's and that would only help with his second act:

With his other claw, the ice dragon expanded his talons, forcing the ice inside her to progress much quicker, arcing along her veins and arteries now, actively attempting to freeze whatever passed for blood within.
