Kaylee had never exactly been what one would call..."friendly". At first, when she was a child having just arrived in Serendipity, it had been fear, shyness. As she grew, it softened to wariness. And then...

Well, then it was arrogance, to be perfectly honest. She knew she wasn't exactly a model of a perfect person, but at least she had a pretty decent understanding of her own flaws. More than most people could say.

In her opinion, at least.

Still, that left her in rather a bind.

Because she had a plan, and that plan required accomplices. "Friends". So now she had to make some.

Hmm...

Walking into her last class of the day, she took a glance around the room. Classes had just turned over, so she should be in a room with some new people. Hopefully.

Well, well, well... Another semester at the Wyrdwood Academy for blah blah blah. Thatcher Paulson sat at his desk in the room before class was going to start, his right leg over his desk with two fingers repeatedly flicking upward with a new card appearing between them in each flick. He wore a snide grin on his thin lips, as he searched the room with his left eye.

His pain underneath the eyepatch on his right eye was exceptionally bad that day. Why? He didn't know, but he felt the need to see Neo later that day for extra help with his agonizing gift. Still, he had to suffer through one more class that day to maintain his acing of his classes.

Thatcher watched the students walking in the classroom, seeing who he knew and who were unknown faces. One of the familiar faces was Morgan Strouse, the dark-haired twin who turned things to gold. Another familiar face was a certain Kaylee...something or other. Thatcher had never cared enough to learn her last name or even really say more than...well, anything...to her. She was a sexy treat to the young man, and he always enjoyed seeing her in the halls, so why not secure her a seat?

With a sharp whistle, Thatcher kept his lazy posture and gestured to the open seat to his left with a grin.

In a relatively still and quiet room, filled with the murmurs of students who'd known one another since childhood, the young man's rather bold gesture wasn't hard to see. Kaylee smiled, looking him quickly up and down as she approached.

Thatcher. Thatcher Paulson, she thought his name was. Had a bit of a reputation himself, and judging by...well, everything about him, he knew it.

She took the seat he'd indicated with a nod of gratitude. "Thanks." She propped her chin in her hand and tilted her head at him, lashes half lowered over her eyes as she looked him over again, calculating. "Y'know you're probably the only person who'd offer me a seat?" she murmured, almost conspiratorially.
