Sirantil Valley made a change from the cities. Jiva had always loved nature rather than cities, probably because he had grown up in the middle of nowhere. So he had taken the time to sit and draw some of the sites. Besides, he was in Connlaoth now, a place that hated magic users and though his magic was of no benefit to him, he still had magical abilities. There was also the fact that he would most likely see posters advertising the bounty on his mother.

She had been wanted by Connlaoth for years and had nearly been killed several times but she was far too powerful for the petty mercenaries who came after her. Now if Jiva were to go after her, she would have more of a match. Then again the stupid bitch probably wouldn’t hurt him because she was his son and try make him ‘see sense’ even at the cost of her life.

He had no interest in that bounty though, no matter how big it was, at least not yet. There was another mark he had his eye on first, his mother’s apprentice Dalisme. His mother always liked Dalisme better because she could actually use her magic. Jiva’s powers were a lot rarer but still his mother devoted all her time training Dalisme.

Jiva broke from his reverie and realised whilst he had been lost in his thoughts he had done a little doodle in the corner of his page of Dalisme with her head flying off. He chuckled at the unconscious action.

There was a disgusted snuffling behind him from the horse he had bought in Arca. Dalisme had her horse Fara so if Jiva was constantly pursuing her on foot he would never catch up to her. Fara was also a Fae Horse, a horse with a more human like soul so Jiva had bought a Fae horse too. Of course the man selling it didn’t know what it was. It was a proud black stallion named Siyavash. It didn’t seem to like Jiva much but tough for it, at least he didn’t treat it like a normal horse.

Jiva pulled out a sketch of Dalisme he had drawn to show a girl in Arca what she looked like and glanced at it appraisingly. He had decided to improve the detail on the drawing so he could just show it to people and ask if they had seen her. Dalisme wasn’t the sort of person that would let herself go unnoticed but it was proving harder to find her than he thought though he was certain that she had no idea he was after her.

Jiva sighed and put the sketch back in his pouch before getting up. He pulled himself up onto Siyavash’s back and continued onwards at a trot. Dalisme always used to be too soft on Fara, he remembered. If Fara was tired, instead of just slowing the pace they were travelling at she would actually get off and walk beside the mare. This seemed strange to him, what was the point of having a horse unless you were going to ride it? Sure, Fara was a Fae Horse but still it wasn’t like it was human.
