QuoteWhat is adelan stance upon merchant nobles?
Just what and with who do Adela' serendipity, la marri , Youreqi isles, Thanatos connlaoth trade with?
Adela is the gateway between the north and south. Essyrn, La'marri, Zantaric, and all southern settlements must pass through Adelan lands and waters to reach Serendipity, Connlaoth, and Hyoite. It gives Adela hefty economic influence, and given that it is much easier to seize power in Adela than in Serendipity, a wealthy merchant could easily rise to significant power in Adela. Political power in Adela can be taken by force or coin, whereas in Serendipity there are checks on that kind of activity.
QuoteHows banking going ? Do they even have a bank?
