"My house of course. Where you will be given a proper job." Siana had the confidant smugness of someone who knew she had just won the upper hand here. Her father would make sure he got a job if she asked, she was sure of it. Then he couldn't steal anymore!

"Y-your house?" Keoni stammered, still not quite sure what was going on here. However, the mention of taking him to her home sent a small wave of panic through him. How was he to know she wouldn't just turn him in? And the idea of being around nobility--nobility that wasn't just a snobby girl who acted like a boy in a fancy dress--sent all kinds of dread coursing through him.

He dug in his heels.  "How do I know this ain't some trick?"
