PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Art: Victoria
Art Credit:  MaBuArt

Average in height, with a lean, athletic body, dark brown hair and eyes; Victoria doesn't consider herself to be very remarkable in appearance. She's not elegant or graceful like some noble lady. There are no striking colorations to her hair or eyes to make her stand out. Her body does not have excessive curves to draw attention to her figure.

Even so, her features are not severe, and while she might not have an aristocratic bearing, there is a wholesome, subtle beauty about Victoria; not striking goddess-quality gorgeousness, but a natural attractiveness. While she does not consider herself elegant there is undeniable finesse and grace to her movements.

Her armor is a combination of light leather for mobility and flexibility and thin sheets of steel strapped over certain vital points for extra protection. When not in her armor Victoria dresses much like a man might, or perhaps a working Connlaothian woman – as she hears they also wear breeches on account of high winds and practicality.

PERSONALITY

Victoria has a relatively cool head on her shoulders. She carries herself with confidence but lacks arrogance. Despite her determination to prove herself to her knight father, she has no desire to become like him – full of bravado and bloated self-importance.

SKILLS
Talents/skills:
Victoria is a warrior, trained in a mix of leather and steel armor, and with swords, spears, and lances. One-handed swords are the favored weapon, and she can duel-wield light rapiers or scimitars.

Magic Abilities:
Magical Reflection: Victoria can perform no magic of her own, but she is also immune to magical attack because any magic directed at her will be reflected back at the caster.

RELATIONSHIPS

Victor Walsh – Victoria's father(and namesake). She has an embittered love/hate relationship with the man who seduced her mother. As a knight and very minor member of the gentry, she has always looked up to him, but fails to live up to his expectations simply because Victor wanted a son to carry on his legacy instead of a daughter.

Brenda Walsh – Victoria's mother. She loves her mother dearly, but does not give the hard-working inn-keep the credit she truly deserves. Yes, her mother married a knight who was less than an ideal husband and father, but Brenda always did the best she could for her daughter and supports Victoria in her quest for knighthood and glory – even if she feels her daughter doesn't always do things for the right reasons.

BACKSTORY

Victor Walsh met and wooed a pretty brunette innkeeper named Brenda, never expecting more than a fling. However when it was soon discovered that Brenda was pregnant he hastily married her so that his child would not be born out of wedlock – something that would have brought dishonor to both himself and the sweet young woman that had been so taken with him.

He was excited at the prospect of having a son to carry on his legacy, but when Victoria was born his immediate reaction was disappointment – something that Brenda never really recovered from and something that would forever shape Victoria's relationship with both of her parents.

Knowing that her father had desperately wanted a boy and was unhappy with having a girl, Victoria has always been living in her father's shadow. She was a little girl desperate for her father's love and denied it on account of something entirely not her fault and beyond her control. This also strained the marriage of her parents and neither really speak to each other any longer. Victor stays away and Brenda tends the inn left to her by her own father.

Victoria was a tomboy, preferring wrestling and pretend sword-fighting with the boys than playing with dolls or tea sets with other little girls.  From a very young age she was quite firm and unshakeable in her life goal – she was going to be a knight.

Her mother encouraged her dreams, knowing that it was uncommon, but not unheard of, for women to go into the military and attain knighthood. The mother and daughter argued frequently despite this, mainly because Victoria resented her mother's continued support of her father when the man was obviously unworthy of a faithful and devoted wife and Brenda felt that her daughter was devoting her life to the goal of knighthood for the wrong reasons.

As soon as Victoria was of age she travelled to Rillaria to begin her training, leaving her quiet little town behind for good. Her mother writes often, although she sporadically replies. She has come far from the unassuming tomboy swinging about sticks and become an accomplished soldier for Moonspear and Serendipity.
