Physical Description Erin - Full Armor, by artist - MeDo

Erin has a head of short, thick brown hair, just long enough to occasionally get in his eyes, and a fine 5 o'clock shadow. He has golden brown skin, slightly dulled from years of adventurer's work, with some slight scratches here and there. There's a scar on his left cheek, just beneath the eye, where a beast swiped him—  nearly taking off his face. He has brown eyes, sharp and vibrant, and he typically wears a toothy, confident grin on his face. It exudes no smugness, or superiority—  just extreme confidence.

Erin is typically clad in heavy plate armor, made up of a red-metal platemail-clad longcoat (the coat beneath being black), adorned with spikes that resemble the horns of a great beast on it's shoulderguards and the chestplate bears the design of a phoenix spreading its wings, and looking to the sky. He wears gauntlets of the same red-steel material which end in claw-like finger guards, and share the same horn-spike design as his shoulderplates.

Erin wears red-metal greaves over a pair of studded leather chausses, which keep in the design theme of a monster, or dragon—  Each leg plate resembling flames, wrapping their way down Erin's leg. The plate covering his feet is designed similarly to his gauntlets—  like claws of a beat, complete with actual sharp talons.

On Erin's back sits "Vanagandr", a massive, two-sided battleaxe of legend. It's edge gleans red with a material mined from the depths of Fell, the cursed lands; The rest of the axe is forged from pitch-black obsidian. The shoulder of the axe is designed to emulate a two-headed wolf, mouth spread wide, facing away from one another as the axe's blades extend outward from each. The haft of the blade is wrapped in a finely-cured leather, from top to bottom, allowing the axe to be gripped from it's belly or it's base with equal ease. The pommel of the axe has an obsidian handle attached... for fine dicing, of course.

Personality Erin has been around the block a couple times, in more ways than one. He's seen a lot, done a lot, loved, and lost—  And through it all, he's still him. A confident, good-natured and optimistic man of good morals and fine-tuned judgement, Erin believes that anyone is capable of great good, or great evil—  but doesn't allow the evil in people to ruin his outlook of great good—  Moreso believing that there are some—  not all, but some—  people in this world who are forced to do bad things for their own sakes. He strives to serve and protect the people around him, and while he isn't preachy or 'holier than thou', he does hold himself to a very high standard. He's experienced many battles—  wins and losses—  and as a result he's grown much more comfortable in his own skin, and holds no real qualms over life or death.

Magic/Abilities

The Phoenix - When killed, Erin gets better. Literally. Blessed from a young age with a unique kind holy magic, if Erin falls in battle, to curse, subterfuge or otherwise, he will die—  But some days later, his body will be reborn in a nearby holy place—  amusingly, clothed in the gear he died in. This unique 'immortality' allows him to fight with his all in combat, fall, and rise again to challenge opponents with a renewed vigor and much, much more experience than prior.

"Vanagandr", The Fell Cleaver - Vanagandr is a unique battleaxe, forged from materials mined in the heart of Fell. As such, it is imbued with Fell's unique curse-- mortal magic users are affected by the chaos magic sickness native to Fell's lands when they come into contact with the axe, or someone holding the axe. Vanagandr itself can even cause spells cast at it to backfire, or go out of control if it comes into direct contact with the spell-- Often to the benefit of Erin, who is capable of returning from death in the worst case scenario.

Relationships

History

Born to a family on the brink of poverty, Erin always dreamed of becoming a great adventurer one day—  trying his luck at earning a living for his family by plying the age-old trade. From the young age of 5, he began to embrace this dream-- to the disdain of his parents-- by wandering off around the small city they lived in, seeking to see more of the world. One day, on one such diversion, Erin decided to take a trip outside the city, just to see what it was like. It was on that day that he met Sethevanian (he'd call him Seth for short), a slightly older boy who told him he strayed a bit too far from his own traveling group and had gotten lost. With Erin's outgoing personality, the two became quick friends, and without thinking, Erin decided to help him try to find his family. The boys thereafter went and got themselves well and truly lost among the crossroads of Matron's March, and into the hands of bandits. The bandits demanded that Erin hand over his companion, but he wouldn't do so—  risking his life for the boy he'd just met. It ended just about how one might expect—  Erin was beaten down and killed by the thugs, but with his dying breath he protected Seth to the last. By the time Erin had died, Seth was long gone, and the bandits ran off looking for him. They would find an unfortunate end elsewhere. Yet Erin's story wasn't yet over—  for 'Seth' was not simply a young boy, wandering lost, but an angel—  A holy being, taking form on the land to observe humanity. It had seen the evils in men... but Erin showed it kindness, courage, and the will to live.

Seth decided to reward his good nature with a gift of holy power—  The light of rebirth. Indeed, a few nights would pass, and Erin, who'd long since passed away, returned to the world of the living, as if awakening from a dream. With him sat 'Seth', who thanked him for his kindness, before explaining who, and what, he truly was—  as well as the gift he had given him. It was Seth who inspired Erin to believe that good people in life should be protected and rewarded for their actions. It was also Seth who encouraged Erin, after watching fend off the bandits for so long with little more than a stick, to consider work as a protector of the people, and hone his skills and will for such. Eventually, Erin thanked the angel for everything he'd done for him, and, after being escorted home, promised to meet with Seth once again in the future, after having traveled the world and having stories to share with him in kind.

Fast forward 20 years. Erin took Seth's advice, and trained to become a great warrior. He won a Matron's March Axe-Throwing Tournament in his family's name, and the rewards thereof served to help them stabilize their lives for some years to come. Erin, not satisfied with just this, began to travel all of Connlaoth in search of new challenges to conquer-- New adventures to add to his little journal. His parents didn't mind, as he always stopped back at home after a long journey, sharing his stories and spending a little time with them before leaving again. On one such journey, Erin was approached for help by a young elven woman who told him of bandits that had attacked her caravan. Naturally he heeded her pleas for help and helped to drive off the bandits, but fate would have it that said caravan would spark the beginning of one of his greatest tales, in which he traveled into the lands of Fell with a disgraced mage and a wily rogue companion, to track down a wicked demon and destroy a centuries-old curse plaguing an elven bloodline. Tales of his heroics, and his gift of rebirth, eventually earned Erin the title of "The Phoenix", and as his fame grew, so too did the number of quests that would come to his family's doorstep. A blessing and a curse, for sure.
