"YOU IDIOT!" A young man shouted, looking, well, you guessed it, irritated. He wore his brown hair in a long braid pulled over his right shoulder, the locks and hair around his face were a little messy, adding to his aggitated appearance. His eyes were severe and sharp, dark and judging, and the dark make-up he wore only accentuated this. However, the person who he had been yelling at didn't seem to really mind.
Standing at a mere five foot, she didn't really look imposing. Her appearance was similiar to a child's, rather than a young woman. Really, it was hard to tell her age besides the fact she was a little further developed than any child. She even held that indisputable innocence, naievty, and simpleness. She couldn't help but to turn her face to the man's and smile brightly, unconcerned with his frustration.
"Sieras, it's pretty," she enthused, her hands cupping a small, crystalline dog figurine. It sat tall, aware and noble in her palm. She was smiling wide, just like a little kid, her own dog ears perked forward and her tail wagging with excitement and happiness behind her.
The crowd that had gathered around them seemingly dispersed, the situation holding little to no interest for them anymore. Sieras thought that was just as well - people and crowds were not among his favorite things, they were annoying and troubling. It couldn't be helped that he was 'babysitting' one of the oldest, 'biggest' children he knew.
"And expensive. Do you understand that, Devi? Ex~pen~sive," he growled out, staring at the little figure distastefully. He picked it up and raised it above his head.
"Anyone want to buy a little glass dog figurine?" He barked out, and when nobody offered, he leaned close to Devi's face, hostile and angry. "Do you understand that nobody wants this? It's not practical - we don't need it. You just wasted good money," he ground out.
She looked up at him with that startling innocence before smiling and licking the tip of his nose, giggling. He reeled backwards, disgusted and mildly offended. He rubbed his nose, aggitated. He really did try to make her understand that money was a cruel necessity of life and should NOT, by any means necessary, wasted carelessly. He was trying to teach her responsibility. And yet, she wasn't getting it. And she broke his personal boundaries, AGAIN. That licking thing really HAD to stop.
He rubbed his nose fiercly, glaring at her. "That's it. I'm going to see if I can pawn it off. I swear to God, if you leave this spot, whenever I see you again, I will kill you. Understand?!" He said with just a little hostility. However, Devi wasn't intimidated, or even slightly fazed. She simply nodded. "Aye-aye!" She announced, grinning.
He already had a bad feeling as he turned and departed - he just knew that when he came back, he wouldn't be able to find her. She could suit herself! He'd go home and then everyone else could go on some big search party for Devi! She was like a dog. Sooner or later she followed her nose and stomach and wound up right back at the inn. No matter what.
Devi watched him until he effectively vanished in the midst of people, and she turned, only to do the same. And then she smelled something quite curious. She sniffed the air and padded down an ally, peering around as he sandles clapped noisely, ears perked. Food? It didn't smell like any food she knew, and the smell itself was sweet and slightly bitter... Hm? She was delighted! An adventure! Her tail was wagging, almost full force as she explored the allies, her mind focusing so fully and simply on that scent.
Where was it? What was it causing?
[sorry it sucks >< xD]
