Perhaps Slash's presumption of the demon within her was correct. Around this time, the dragon wolf would find it best to take her to a powerful priest to help extract the said demon. That was until she mentioned the voice wanted him dead. This stopped all other thoughts Slash had been processing in an instant.
"Excuse me?" The dragon wolf questioned, not really believing what he had heard.

It was at that moment that the shewolf's eyes rolled into the back of her head. Her mouth went slightly slack, and she took a step back. Then another. Then another.

Suddenly there was a brilliant flash of light that eminated from the shewolf, and she arched her back, the light seemingly exploding from that point. Her paws which had been hovering near her face before, slowly fell to her sides as she was pulled by an invisible source backward. She floated just slightly above the earth.

The light intensified between her shoulder blades, the light moving away from her in a vivid sphere, drawing her even further back. The light rippled and flashed multiple times before assuming the shape of a humanoid...slowly solidifying into a figure heavily clad in a dark cloak. Slash could see nothing more as the person faced away from him.

The shewolf sank back down to the earth, still standing...yet her eyes were flat, dull, expressionless...as though she were entranced.

A thick male voice reached Slash's ears...one that had a faint familiarity but was unbeknownst to him now. All it said was "Hello, Slash..."

The figure turned, its head bowed so that the hood fell over any visage of face. Slash could see nothing at all.

"Like my pet?" the voice inquired with a chuckle, placing an arm on the now silent and all but dead shewolf, who stood staring at the earth with half-closed eyes. "She is quite lovely, don't you think? Quiet lovely indeed...you might remember..."

The figure took a step forward toward Slash. "But then again, maybe hearts don't last this long..."

All was too late. The voice within the shewolf had taken control of her body. Slash gasped and could only stand back as some form of action may endanger her. When the sphere came out of her back and took shape of a cloaked humanoid, Slash then realized that the shewolf was free from the demon, but not completely. He may still have some sort of link to her. When the figure spoke, Slash's eyes widened to their fullest as his pupils shrank away to tiny pinpricks. His teeth began to show as he clenched them together tightly. Almost enough to draw blood.
"Faydon..." Slash growled through his teeth. His mortal enemy from his home world had followed him through the abyss. Out of every soul from Slash's past, this was the last one he would ever dare to see. With that in mind, a terrible realization hit the dragon wolf, hard. His mouth closed and his focus quickly turned to the shewolf behind the cloak. He soon bared his teeth again, turning an even more rage fueled gaze at the cloaked figure.
"What did you do to her?!" Slash is far more angry now than the time he found Dis attempting to rape Sunni.

The laugh deepened. The cloak seemed to shudder with the effort. The figure stepped back again, this time, placing both hands on the shewolf's shoulders.

"Do to whom? This?" He gave the femme a little shake, but she did not respond. "I didn't do much of anything," seethed the velvety voice. "I just claimed what was left with me."

The figure again stepped around her and seemed to increase in girth and height. The hood raised...vivid red eyes pierced through the very soul of the dracowolf. A dark, withered hand unfolded from the cloak and drew back the hood ever so slightly, just enough to expoose Feydon's crowd, showing a skull pitted and torn, the four horns merely cracked and diseased stumped.

"You, however, did THIS to ME," Feydon bellowed, his darknesss seeming to fill the woods. The sun had given way to dark swirling clouds, the winf catching and plucking up leaves and wisking them away, the air very chilled. Feydon returned the hood to its former state and hid his broken hand. "I WAS NOTHING THEN....YOU LEFT ME IN A VOID...A VOID FILLED WITH YOUR LIGHT."

It was then Feydon threw his hand back toward the femme, who again arched back as a piercing cry escaped her. There was a smaller light that appeared before her chest, and there, solidifying near her heart, was the broken Dragon Claw Orb.

"And THIS is what you left behind. Now, it belongs to ME."

The orb returned itself to the femme's heart, and she returned to her previous state, unmoving, unfeeling.

Feydon backed toward the femme wolf.

"And now, it is time to REACT....BAYWOLF!!!!!"

***

Baywolf raised her eyes...the piercing pink of which shown through to the world. She raised her paws to her chest and began to Sing...

          "A net of dreams..."

Feydon cackled as the winds picked up even higher and began to swirl around Baywolf as she rose from the earth, the grass beneath her burning as an unseen heat released from her body. The gems in shoulders began to glow and crescendo in their brightness. Her body seemed thin, ethreal, and one could slightly see the forest behind her as trees bent in a forty-five degree angle. Everything seemed drawn toward her center.

"I've spun...
      a lengthy and alluring song..."

Feydon widened his stance and moves his arms outward from his sides, as if expecting something to finds its way to his arms.

"...Casts off the foolishness of reality and throws it into the winds..."

Baywolf was now almost transparent.

"REACT WITH ME!!! REACT WITH ME NOW!!!"

Her pupils were pinpoints. She reached forward, toward Feydon....

...and passed through him, cupping Slash's cheek in her paw. All Slash heard was the gentle sound of a water droplet hitting the surface of a lake.

***

Slash felt as if himself was lifted from the earth, a gentle breeze swirling about him even though the wind was a ferocious as a hurricane. He felt Baywolf's presence near, within, and throughout. She was Singing with him, his voice echoing hers with this poem:
        "Begin the Promise...
         And make the Vow...
And in this place, the Here and Now
Where in this perfect moment, I surrender unto You."

He felt heat spread over his arms and found himself remembering an image of the Wolf Claw and Addermoon Staff. His arms became heavy, like weighted with some object...he felt his hands gripping what felt like steel bars, but her couldn't be sure. In that gentle place...that peaceful oasis, he could not know what...

...until it faded from him.

***

"WHAT?! NO!!! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO REACT TO ME!!!"

Slash opened his eyes. Of course his arms felt weighted! Much to his shock and amazement, his arms were adorned with monstrous twin blades, his hand fitted into the weapon, gripping the steel bars he thought were but a dream. They arched high behind his shoulders while flowing down into huge curved blades, much like claws. Imbedded just afore the hilt were triangular gems the same color and shape that had adorned Baywolf's arms, still glowing. Golden ribbons, like those that had been on her dress, fanned and floated from their connections on the hilts.

"What..." Slash began, but Feydon was moving.

Just as Feydon hammered an attack, Slash felt the weapons react of their own accord, blocking the demon.

"Slash...you must attack him!" called a plaintive, echoeing voice.

Suddenly, it made sense...

BAYWOLF WAS HIS WEAPON.

Slash stood his ground and watched Faydon closely, making sure he doesn't try anything. The draconic wolf simply listened to everything said, not moving a muscle. Even when the voided soul began yelling at him, he didn't flinch. His mind eased a bit when Baywolf began to sing. Sing to him for that matter. When the sonata had come to an end, another realization hit Slash. He was holding twin double blades.
"Baywolf..." All that Slash could muster as tears welled up in his eyes. He gripped the steel bars within his grasp tightly and jerked his attention quickly to Faydon after his attempted assault. With almost no thought, Slash lunged forward, swinging one double blade at Faydon. With the same momentum, he twisted his arm enough to put a spin in with the swing.

Anonymous

Baywolf carried the momentum of the blade forward, turning it faster than Slash could have mustered on his own. Faydon lept back to avoid being cut in the middle, landing just to the side as Slash moved past him. The cut Slash had attempted was awkward, and with Baywolf's added force it threw him slightly off-balance. Stretched out to his maximum beneath Faydon, Slash had nowhere to go but down.

Faydon raised an elbow and brought it down, hard, between Slash's shoulder blades, sending him into a wicked belly-flop onto the hard earth, knocking the wind from the dracowolf. Faydon lashed out with a heavily clad leg, catching the doggish beast in his side and sending him flying. Slash crashed against a large boulder and slumped to the ground.

"Errrh...Baywolf...are you alright?"

Yes...I tingle all over... was the weak reply.

Faydon quickly recovered and charged Slash, who stood up just in time to feel the wepons come up and block the demon again.

Slash, we can do this but we must learn to fight together...

Slash listened to the last thing Baywolf relayed to him and nodded in response. After having blocked Faydon, the draconic wolf closed his eyes and pictured himself, holding his beloved in a welcoming embrace. Without opening his eyes, he quickly swings one arm forward, allowing himself to drift into a graceful spin. He then came back around with a back swing, hoping to catch his mortal enemy once.
Finally coming to a stop, Slash opened his eyes and pinpointed Faydon's location. Without hesitation, he pushed himself off the ground, throwing himself into an elegant side flip. Using his wings, he purposely caused his body to spin in mid flight. He held his newfound blades, his love out towards the ground as he spun above Faydon. The draconic wolf slid to a stop when he landed on the ground, holding his arms out to his sides.

Baywolf felt cloth and flesh give way to her edge.

The second spin connected with something more solid, cracking bones.

The third was like shreddings...tattering what was left of muscles.

And still, Baywolf danced...

***

Faydon screeched in pain as the first blade connected with his midsection, leaving a shallow yet long slice in his stomach. He tried to spin away, but Slash was already moving, coming back with a backlash that connected with Faydon's shoulder blades. His left shoulder plate cracked as the brunt of the force contacted the bone. Faydon screamed, writhing in pain. When Slash became airborn, drawing his blades down in an elegant arc, Faydon thought he could block by raising the portion of his forearm that was guarded by thick bone, like plated armour.

The blade turned his flesh into ribbons.

"AIIIYEEEE!!!" Faydon screeched, clutching his tattered arm. Slash came to rest behind Faydon, facing away from his foe. He paused and yet...

...the blades continued.

Wind's breath draws in silence...
drawing the blush of a maiden's sigh...

The winds began to rise again. Faydon tried to attack, weakly, but was blocked by some force surrounding Slash. His fur barely moved, as though whispered upon by a gentle breeze, while the rest of the forest swayed and cracked beneath the winds.

We Sing the song of Impending Death...
And commit ourselves to the maiden's sorrows...

Light exploded from the gems on Slash's blades, first a brilliant pink, then a dark, outlandish purple, then a brilliant white light.

Together we sigh...

Faydon roared with immeasurable pain and hatred. He gathered all the darkness to himself, charged it into an immense, completely focused energy attack, and rushed Slash Dracomoon.

And in ecstasy, we are the World Reborn.

The light errupted forth, bathing the forest in an utterly holy whiteness.

"ETHREAL EMMULATION!" echoed two voices as one.

Faydon screamed as the light consumed him.

***

When the light faded, Slash found himself standing with the twin blades raised above his head, the gems fading to their normal pink-purple hue. He lowered the weapon to his sides, noticing that a long silvery chain bound both blades to his arms.

"Wha...?" he began.

Suddenly he felt weak, almost powerless, and the blade faded from his arms. As they disappeared Baywolf solidified in front of him, and would have collapsed to the earth if he hadn't caught her.

"Baywolf..." Slash began, but was stopped by a plaintive groan.

Faydon lay on the ground but a few feet away, broken, badly bruised and twitching just barely. He dare not move.

Though Faydon may be defeated this time around, he's still alive. Slash wasn't about to take any chances. He lifted the frail femme's form into his strong arms and gave his wings a quick and powerful flap. The two of them soon shot out of the top of the tree line and glided over swaying leaves. Slash, now being accustomed to flying, found it easy to fly with little effort put into flapping.
The draconic wolf's gaze turned to the shewolf in his arms and all he could do was smile. A single tear rolled from his eye and down his cheek as he turned his gaze back to the the path he flew in. His heart had been returned to him and he wasn't going to let go any time soon.
