Perspiration dribbled down his forehead.  It was hot, he could feel it.  It was so damn hot, he was almost sweating right through his shirt.  Water, he needed some water!  But dammit, he couldn't leave this spot.  His target was about to walk right through his path just like they'd done so many times before in the past.  If he left this spot to go down to the river across the way, he could miss them and he couldn't have that.  It was now or never.

But damn, why did it have to be so freakin' hot!?  What kind of mad god descended upon the land to make everything so unbearable?  What kind of vengeance had to be wrought to exact such cruelty!?  Oh right, this was the jungle.  Thorn shook his head.  The humidity was really getting to his head.  He was a professional and here he was letting a little heat get the better of him.

"Focus, dammit, focus," he said, gritting his teeth.  All he had to do was wait and pounce on his target when the moment was right.  It was as simple as—Shit!  Somebody was coming!  A rustling occurred on a bend at the far right of the path and a whistling touched his ears.  He smiled, watching a round man walk around the trees with an unusual smile around his face.  Oh, this was almost too easy.  All he had to do was steal the man's jewel, of which Thorn was sure he had in money purse and return the findings to his contractor.  The job wasn't what he normally did, but he was above some small time thievery.  He would make sure the job was done; that's what he was getting paid for after all.

When the man was close enough, Thorn jumped from out of the brush and somersaulted in front of him.  Pulling out a blade, he waved it out in front of him and put on the most frightening visage he could muster.  "Don't ask questions.  Just give me all your damn money.  NOW!"

[center:1809aut7]Her eyes were glazed over, gripped by an insatiable need for luxury. Mia never intended on making any steals, infact at this very moment the faintest flicker of guilt hissed within her chest- ridden with shallow breaths. Swallowed by humidity her muscles ached, her sensibility screaming in her ear to release the tension. She leaned forwards ever so slightly, preparing herself for liftoff...

Earlier, Mia had simply been wandering astray with no motive in mind. It wasn't until she caught the teeniest whiff of money did she react. Immobilized by her desires then, resistance was futile. And so, here she was, in quite possibly one of the most unlikely places Mia of all heat-hating people would be. Suddenly a rustle from the bushes ahead alerted her. Wearily she peeked out, caught off-guard by a strange man wielding a knife. Immediately she scowled, cautiously keeping her presence secretive.

Kleptomaniac jittered with adrenaline, and unable to hold back any longer, quickly dashed out from the foliage and sprung at the unsuspecting wealthy man. She wrapped her legs around his waist and threw her arms around his neck, pressing an unimpressive dagger directly against his greasy flesh. "Actually, you'll be giving me, your money if you know what's best for you". To any normal man who wasn't in a life threatening situation, having what might as well have been a half naked woman straddle you was probably a favorable position. How unfortunate the circumstances.[/center:1809aut7]

Huh, well didn't this just make his day.  Just when Thorn thought that this was going to be easy, his own overzealousness had come back to slap him in the face.  He really had to stop doing this.  But what was this?  Some jungle savage came and demanded money from him?  This was just getting better and better now.

She pressed a blade to his throat.  Now, he really wasn't in the mood for this.  It was hot, he was irritable and there was only one thing to be done.  He had to get rid of this runt first before taking care of his target.  Where was he by the way?  "Shit," he muttered for a moment while the round man had taken off in the opposite direction in fear.  "Thanks a lot.  You let him get away.  Now I'm gonna have to punish you for that."

And without notice, he threw himself over, flipping and landing with all his weight on top of her.  It was nice to be on top of a woman again but not when there was good money involved.  He normally wouldn't hit a woman either, but this was different.  This...was business!

[center:3eg7a380]Mia huffed, eyebrows pulling together in disbelief. "Punish, hm?" She muttered, figuring that would be unlikely considering she was the one with the knife at his neck. However, before she knew it she was on her back and the knife went flying off in another direction. His weight pressed down on her, and maybe it was the bump to the head but Mia immediately snapped out of this money-drunk state. A long, exasperated breath seeped from her lips.

"You can get off, now", she said nonchalantly. Mia didn't struggle now, she expected cooperation-- she had no money on her, no job, and thus nothing to steal but the clothes off her back. The heat made her head throb and fed her growing frustration. Her leather attire became sticky and uncomfortable, loincloth wrapping around her legs and her hairpin digging into her skull. Her hands pressed against his chest to encourage his getting off of her.

"What do you plan to do, kill me?" A tiny, otherwise endearing smile tugged at her lips-- not out of arrogance, Mia just found the idea amusing at this point. "Oh", she blinked, gazing behind her at the empty space, "Oops." The fat man had scurried off, which she now realized was probably his target in the first place. Oh well.[/center:3eg7a380]

Thorn was reputed to be brave to the point of stupidity.  Though his reputation was one that lurked only among potential contractors, it was still a worthy one; to others it said that he was there to get the job done.  So far, there wasn't a job that he failed.  As he reached out with his mind for a moment, probing the nearby area, he considered that maybe this job wouldn't be lost just yet.

"Don't push it," he said bitterly, a snarl forming on his face.  He did get up and then grabbed her up by her shoulders and enclosed his other hand on her neck.  The grasp around her neck wasn't enough to potentially cut off air completely, but enough to give her some difficulties.  Thorn looked her over and said after some thought, "Your blood ain't worth spilling."

He let her go and took a few steps away.  Again he projected his senses out into the area and searched the presence of his target.  Feeling nothing, he cursed, "Damn!"  The colors that engulfed his mind breathed nothing more than heat and trees and vegetation.  "He got away!"  He looked back at the woman with narrowed eyes, huffing off frustration.  "What's your name?"

[center:3medg6dx]Mia inhaled sharply upon the absence of his weight, choking on her breath when her body was jerked upwards. His hand caught her neck, tightening and nearly threatening her air. Mia didn't take well to intimidation. The moment his fingers released, she shoved it aside hastily. Her lips parted as if words lingered on the tip of her tongue before she gritted her teeth. "You're lucky I feel the same way, boy" Was muttered under her breath, just loud enough for him to catch it.

Venomous eyes glared into his own without hesitation, rolling her shoulders and lifting her arms to cross them over her head. Basic stretches while he took the moment to give one final search. Mia might have apologized, if he wasn't taking it so harshly. "Calm down", she grunted, arching her back and placing each hand on her hip. Her white hair had began falling out from its tie, dirty and in need of another good washing. "I'm Mia", she said, the hostility fading away as quickly as it came. Unlike most women, Mia didn't hold grudges. She took a few steps in his direction, stealing a moment to analyze him. He wasn't half bad as far as appearance went. Returning the dull blue of her eyes to his own narrowed ones, she took a single hand and brushed back the stray hairs of which had fallen infront of her caramel face, "And yours?"

The merciless heat was making her throat dry and her eyes water, and honestly this was the last place she wanted to chitchat. "Do you want me to help find him or something?" Rolled off her tongue, lathered in the apathy typical to Mia. Her offer was partially a reason to get out of here, so in all reality it was two birds with one stone.[/center:3medg6dx]

He'd heard her no doubt, but that was also plenty of reason not to respond to her.  He was already in a bad mood at having lost his target and he didn't need her pretentious snide remarks to make things worse.  If he didn't know any better he would've thought about knocking her block off.

His brows came together in consternation as she said her name.  "Mia, huh," he repeated her name and it wasn't long before she asked his as was customary to do.  "Name's Thorn," he said.  "Thorn Blackburn."  Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he tried to breathe easy through the thick humid air, but the cloud of heat that he inhaled only made him cough and force him to spit on the ground.  Brushing a hand along the shadow of a beard that was growing along his face, Thorn's mind remained frustrated on the fact that he lost his contract.  The jungle was like a maze to him and it'd taken him days to find this specific path that his target had walked on a number of occasions.  The heat didn't help either since it muddled with his ability to read auras.

That was until she offered to help him.  "No!" was his first reaction, one triggered more out of habit than any real thought.  "I work alone.  I don't need anyone's help."  But then he considered that the fact that he didn't know the jungle all the well.  Was she a native?  He could read where she came from later but for now, he really didn't want to lose his target.  He just hoped she didn't plan on getting a share of the loot.  "On second thought," he began again, shaking his, "maybe you can help me.  I'm just out of it from the heat."

[center:147shxjs]She noted his resentment and remained unoffended. Mia could care less, she was going to leave with or without him.  Watching him in his disoriented state, she pondered if he was in any position to be making decisions at all. Then again, she was one to talk. By this point, Mia had leaned up against a tree and beneath the shade it provided. She panted heavily, fanning herself with her hand: a wasted effort. Times like these reminded her why it was so convenient to wear next to nothing.

Suddenly, he corrected himself. "Oh so you do need someones help", she scoffed playfully. Pulling her weight from the tree, she took a step closer. Mia squinted harshly at him, pondering his intentions. What's with the sudden change of heart, she wondered. A 'hmm' made its way from her throat, tapping on the side of her hip with the simultaneous tap of her sandaled foot. "Very well then, Mr. Thorn Blackburn. Lets get a move-on before we get dehydrated."

Mia took the honors of going first. Afterall, she was a lady. She continued forwards down the path-- where the fatty was last spotted, no doubt carrying something valuable enough to anger Thorn. Almost made her curious, actually. Mia avoided the potholes on the trail, expecting him to follow behind the casual sway of her hips. Mia may not have been familiar with the jungle itself, her tracking skills were unexpectedly developed. "So what is your job, exactly?" She'd call out to behind, keeping a steady quick pace. It was evident in her stride just how athletic she was-- Thorn wouldn't have to worry about her keeping up. Although, thinking about it, Mia was no longer sure if she was going to help him, or subconsciously following the urge of her curious kleptomania.[/center:147shxjs]

He wasn't a gentleman, but he would humor her if only she led him to his target.  All he could think about right now was gutting that fat fuck and robbing him.  It amazed him actually at how fast the round man could get around.  Hopefully he wasn't as good at hiding as he was running.

"Dehydrated?  Way ahead of you on that one," was all he said as they started down the path.  She was swift of foot and was covering the distance of the trail as quickly as he was.  He had to work to keep his eyes focused on spotting him up ahead.  The lure of money was more powerful than the gentle, nonchalant sway of her hips.  Hips that moved side-to-side and—what the hell was he doing?  He had a job to do!  And furthermore he didn't even know his woman.  Thorn averted his gaze with some difficulty and sighed as he pressed on.

"Oh huh?  Sorry," he said, coming back to reality.  "I'm a...I'm a mercenary.  Just someone who can get things done.  What's it to you?  What is it that you do?"

[center:1emtumgj]Mia licked her chapped lips in an attempt to salvage them, only making it worse in the long run. She kept her eyes low to the ground for any potential evidence, but nothing strayed from the path. Not like she expected a 400lb man to go running through the bushes in 100% humidity.

"Mercenary, huh? Interesting. And I'm just trying to get a conversation flowing here so you're not awkwardly staring at my ass the entire time, Mr. Thorn." Even despite honestly not caring, she thought it would be amusing to call him out on it... that, and she wanted to avoid the retaliated question of 'what is it that you do'. Continuing further down the winding path, growing irritated by the zigzag, she stopped dead in her tracks. Bending over, she observed an opening in the grass and a series of broken twigs in its wake. "Do you think he went through here? Maybe it's a shortcut", she questioned. Boy, did she hope so. The particular area was cast in a shadow, so maybe the fatman decided to take a shady escape route in an attempt to lose his trackers. As if he could.

Mia should really be more aware of herself sometimes- wearing only that pathetic excuse of a loincloth and bending over infront of a stranger probably wasn't a terrific idea. She straightened up with an audible sigh. The feathers sprouting from the neck of her top were becoming irritating very quickly, so she took a quick moment to readjust her hair and move out of the way for his inspection. Making a wrong turn now could very well be the end of their expedition.[/center:1emtumgj]

Thorn wasn't one to blush and he wouldn't give her the pleasure of seeing him do so in a situation like this.  He merely let a grin splay along his moist brown face.  He noticed that she didn't answer his question, but he let it slide on this.  She didn't have to say anything for him to learn all about her, all he had to do was to was take a moment to analyze her aura.  He'd do it in a second flat if he wasn't so preoccupied with finding the run away target.  For the moment though, he replied, "I'm sorry you find my staring awkward.  You mustn't think so lowly of yourself, Miss Mia."  He rolled his eyes inwardly and continued along behind her.

Watching her as she bent down and leaning to the side to get a better look for himself.  It was highly unlikely that the fat man could fit in there, but then it was highly unlikely that he got away as quickly as he did.  Lots of things that were previously unexpected were popping up left and right in the last few minutes.  Thorn couldn't help but notice the way she quickly got up and let him take a look.  He would've smirked but he could sense somehow the man was near here or had been in this area.  So he bent over to look for himself.  Peering through the shade, Thorn shook his head and said, "Unlikely."

But that was before he projected out, tracing the familiar aura through the shade.  It was a possibility that he just ran through here and then took off in another direction, hoping to divert him.  But he was an excellent tracker.  Nobody got away.  "On second thought," he whispered faintly when he felt the presence was fresh and shuffle occurring beneath the underbrush.  Without notice, he unsheathed his blade, quickly stood and dashed forward through the bushes.  After a few curses, grunts and a loud smack, Thorn dragged the target from the brush before kicking him to the ground.  "Found him," he said, smiling, satisfied.

After that, Thorn stepped forward and grabbed him up the by collar, and flashed the blade in his face once more, "I don't like it when people run.  It makes me mad.  And when people make me mad, they have to be punished."

"No, no!" he shouted, obviously filled with fear.  "Please!  I'll give you what you want, just don't hurt me."

"Oh, so now you're sorry.  I'm in a very bad mood today and you're lucky that all I care about is your money bag.  Give it up now."

"H-h-here!  T-take it!"  He reached for his belt and handed the small purse to Thorn.

"Thank you.  Now say goodnight."

"G-goodnight?"

And with that, Thorn shoved his knee in his gut and knocked him out with the butt of the blade.  The fat man fell to the ground with a loud thump, leaving Thorn to jingle the bag in his hands before tucking it away inside the pockets of his short coat.

[center:1daqg33f]Unable to resist a subtle sneer, she decided saying nothing would give him the misconception that Mia was insecure. Hardly. But either way she couldn't be bothered correcting him.

Mia's eyes and followed his movements after giving him the opportunity to see for himself. The sting of being wrong was brief but, for whatever reason, she was almost upset she couldn't impress a complete stranger. Her attention redirected upon his correction. The fat man was pulled from the bush before she had time to ask what it was. She approached the target, a little frustrated she never found him herself. Mia was getting rusty! She had gone without money for months now-- the downside of resisting your urges being the fact it's hard to live on no income. Gritting her teeth, she playfully observed his interrogation.

"So that's what you were after," She whispered, greedily eyeing the money bag as it transferred from one hand to the other. Before she knew it he was a lump passed out infront of her. A single foot reached and prodded his side, assuring herself he wasn't faking it. "Good work", she commented. Inhaling, the breath caught in the back of her dry throat and Mia began a fit of harsh coughs. Her hands pressed against her sore throat, followed by a visibly painful swallow. She really didn't do well in the heat. Mia expected him to leave now with his little bag of money and the success of a finished job at hand, and she'd return to her chilly little forest in Thanatos-- if she didn't pass out first.[/center:1daqg33f]

Thorn had a way of congratulating himself on a job well done and that was usually going to a tavern and celebrating, but what he really wanted to do was get out of this godforsaken jungle and into a nice cool bath.  He wondered if she knew where a nearby town was.  "Yup," he uttered nodding in agreement.  "And this little consolation prize for putting me up to all this hard work."  He looked down at the neck of the fallen target and cut off the string of jewels that were there.  It was and a shiny and attractive piece of jewelry and one that he knew he could make a lot of money off of.

He pocketed that too and then took a moment to look up at her.  "Thanks for the help in finding the bastard.  Say, you wouldn't happen to know where a town is do ya?  Hey...."  He looked at her more closely and squinted his eyes.  "Are you alright?  You don't look so good."

[center:3t1n5cst]After catching a glimpse of the gorgeous jewels, she was struck by fatigue. Her eyelids drooped and immediately Mia lifted her hand and pressed its palm against her forehead. "Yea I'm fine", she muttered, staggering over to a gigantic oak tree to rest amongst the shade. "Just give me a sec."

Pressing her back against its rough surface, she relied completely on it for support. With a lack of sufficient food over the last couple of days, the heat was taking a toll. Well aware she had to abandon the jungle quickly or otherwise face some sort of heat stroke or dehydration, she took a few deep breaths before parting with the tree. Surprisingly, she had been so preoccupied with feeling faint that little attention was given to the jewels and money he attained. "I'm just thirsty," she reassured him, "I think there's a town this way." Stepping back into the sunlight she swayed unsteadily, struggling to regain her balance. Mia became frustrated, ignoring the dizzy-spell and continuing to shuffle along as if she were fine. How degrading.

With a sudden lack of breath, Mia stumbled forwards and collapsed onto the path unconscious.[/center:3t1n5cst]

He couldn't help but quirk his eyebrows curiously at her.  She didn't seem as if she were alright though she said otherwise.  He could tell by her swaying and certain dullness in her eyes that told him she was probably going to collapse.  But he humored her for a time, watching her and only nodding when she referred to a town in the other direction.

But it wasn't until she swayed severely that he knew she was not fine at all.  "Hey," he said softly as she fought to regain herself.  Then she finally fell down and forced Thorn to take a step back.  What the hell?! Now what?  "Hey, come on."  He walked over to her, knelt down, and patted her cheek.  It was apparent now that she wasn't going to be getting up.  "Crap.  Well I can't just leave her here," Thorn whispered to himself and sheathed his blade once more.  "Okay, don't worry.  I ain't gonna let you die."  With that he bent her knees and shoved an arm underneath them, then her shoulders and pulled her up from the ground.

It wasn't long before he was already down the path she indicated toward the town.  It was a lot closer than he expected, reaching civilization in a little less than forty-five minutes or so.  Along the trek, the heat was really starting to get to him, he staggered towards the end as the sweat dripped down his face.  The leather she was wearing really didn't help his grip all that much but once he entered town, he searched for the nearest tavern and plopped through the door asking for a room.  The owner looked up at him wide eyed.  "Get the hell outta here!  What do you think this is, a cathouse?  The brothel's down the street!"

"But the girl, she's—"

"I don't care if she's the queen of the jungle.  Get out and I better not see you in here again!"

"Look here, you little—"

"Get the fuck out now!"  He pulled out a loaded pistol from beneath the counter and pointed it at Thorn.  "I don't play games, Mister.  Just leave, 'fore I spread your brains all on the wall."

And with a nothing more than a scoffing grimace, he obeyed and went down the street.  The brothel was easy to find, easily the gaudiest building on the street.  But he took her in and getting a room was far simpler than he'd expected.  The room he'd been given was small but semi-comfortable...well in terms that it had a bed and curtains and a pitcher of water on the counter that was beside the window.  He laid her on the bed, well, threw her actually, and reached for the pitcher.  He was tempted to take a drink for himself first, but after a time of consideration, threw the water filled glass on her.  Maybe the sudden coolness would wake her up.  "Hey!  Mia!  Wake up!"

[center:16thshid]Freezing water collided with her face, and resentfully her eyes opened to the call of her name. "Who the hell are you..." she groaned, running a dirtied hand over her face. Sleep lingered in her system, naturally disoriented after waking up from unconsciousness. Mia's head pounded, her body writhing on the bed with the pain that followed.

"Ugh, what.. happened?" She began to come too, squinting at Thorn through the sheer curtains enclosing the bed. Mia slowly lifted herself, propped up by her elbows pressed into the downy pillows. Wearily she looked around, unsure of what to make of the peculiar decor. Was this his house? Judging from the violet walls, Mia wondered if she had the wrong impression all along from this brutish, muscular man before her. Amused, she kept her ideas to herself, eagerly awaiting his explanation. Mia vaguely remembered chasing after a fat man of some sort and..... jewels. Dull eyes caught the dim light, illuminating and becoming enticingly pale; glazed over with desire.

"Say, where do you plan on taking the stuff?" Mia asked, careful to remain casual. She leaned back on her arms, offering a flirtatious glimpse over her shoulder. She clenched her jaw, recalling the setting. Right. Maybe he's gay. Grumbling to herself, apparently having forgotten the subtle incidents in the jungle that occurred, had she truly planned on taking a share of the prize then her feminine charm might not have been sufficient.

Ugh! She was doing it again. Enthralled by her obsessions, it had almost the equivalent of a second personality. Her pitiful, desperate alter-ego haunted her-- and even sat there, the victor of her internal battle would decide her actions tonight. Oblivious, Thorn could easily have been a witness to her emotional tug-of-war.[/center:16thshid]

The heat was far more at bay now than in the main jungle.  The hard part was already done, now Thorn just had to make it back to the Zantaric in one peace.  For now though, he had to make sure that Mia was alright.  He laughed a little when she awoke in a disoriented state.  "I'm Thorn, remember," was all he said, looking at her strangely.

He got up and poured another glass of water and offered it to her, taking another glass for himself.  He drank generously and vigorously as if it were the last glass of water he'd have in his life.  When that was done, he knelt down and tilted his head, ready to explain everything.  "Whoa, slow down, missy," he said sternly.  "Whatever I'm planning on doing will be done in due time.  First off this place is some brothel here: The Midnight Lantern or something or other.  That's why it looks all...womanish.  It was the only place that would let me take you to a room.  Guess everybody thinks all a man wants is a cheap fuck.  Anyhow, I brought you in and thought the best way to wake you up would be to throw water on you.  I guess I was right."

He saw that she was becoming all the more cognitive now, and even shot a suggestive glance at him.  He merely quirked a brow once more and sighed.  "I think you'll be okay, but, uh, this—" he reached out a hand and flicked the loincloth, "probably not the best thing to wear in the jungle.  Maybe next time you'll learn."  Thorn flashed a grin at her and it was then that he said, "There's something wrong with your face.  Damn I didn't think you hit your head that hard."

[center:p2u8fj4g]"Oh, yea, sorry Thorn." she grumbled. Mia grabbed the glass and chugged it aswell, tilting her head back and literally pouring it down her throat while he explained. Refreshing. At the mention of "cheap fuck", Mia coughed up the water and choked a little, sighing afterwards. "Do I really look like a whore?" Mia questioned herself, sighing.

"Well, thanks", she'd say, uncertainty on her tongue. Thorn's gestural flick of her loincloth made her nod, "Somehow I don't think I'll be returning there anytime soon, anyway", she admitted. By now her 'come-hither' eyes had obviously lost their charm, because his reaction clearly wasn't one of "okay lets fuck and I'll leave my jewels here so that you can steal them when I'm passed out". Disappointing, but further yet, his remark. "Something wrong with my face?" She repeated, "Like what?" Leaning forwards, she placed each elbow onto her bent knees, folding her arms over the gap and placing her chin on the bridge. "Suppose I just need sleep or something", she grunted, surrendering.

Gazing around the room once more, she saw the door to another room. Bathroom, most likely. More so than before, the grime accumulated from rolling around in the dirt plus the added water had made a mess. Mia lifted her arms and looked at herself to confirm it. "Well I'm going to clean up or something and wash my clothes, you can leave or stay depending on whether you like traveling at night or not", she pointed out the window. It was long since obvious her will to seduce had melted away, her slouched posture and mannerisms no longer attempting to impress. Mia got up, readjusted her loincloth and pulled the hairpin from her hair on her walk to the bathroom.

"Brothel huh," she repeated, huffing to herself. Upon opening the door, it was just as she expected-- nothing showy. Mia turned, shutting and locking the door, and proceeded to remove and wash her clothes with the decently sized bucket of water that must have been given to each room. He could've sworn he just saw some kind of daze apparent on her face.  But she spoke it off and nonchalantly wandered into the bathroom.  Thorn had been so preoccupied with explaining things to her that he didn't even take a glance more around the room other than to note its femininity.  But he took the chance now to take a second glance at it.  It was still notably decorated in horrid ostentatious wallpaper that even made someone like Thorn cringe.  He could really care less about decoration, but this was easily one of the ugliest brothels he'd ever been in.

And on that note, he wasn't surprised that they let him in here so easily.  There wasn't any sort of pimp here that he found, but rather he was approached by the madam of the establishment.  Apparently one look at him was all it took to give them a room.  Brothels generally didn't give rooms to just anybody who wasn't going to pay by the hour.  But he have her a stack of his own gold and instructed her that he wasn't to be bothered.  Maybe she thought he'd brought her some business, but he really could care less.  His money was good and all he wanted was the room.

Thorn didn't think that she looked like a whore; though considering how she was dressed, most wouldn't fall too far from that thought.  He wasn't one to just bed any and every woman he came across, no matter how hard they flirted with him.  All that was on his mind now was to get some rest.  But then he noticed that there was only one bed.  Well, he didn't mind the floor.  "Nah," he called back in response while she was in the bathroom.  "I think I'll stay.  Room's paid for anyway, so might as well."

The daylight from the curtained window was already running out and Thorn thought it best that he might as well get ready to sleep too.  From there he stood and peeled off his coat and shirt, and then removed his shoes.  He'd bathe if there wasn't just one bathroom, of which she'd probably stay in there forever, knowing women.  Well, he could wait until she was done.  But in an effort to bide the time, he called out to her, "So what was it that you did again, y'know for a living?"

[center:1ahw85jw]Mia inhaled the fresh aroma that now kissed her freshened body, cooled down to a nice, stable temperature. Quickly drying herself off, she rubbed the towel through her hair tentatively. It had been so long since she bathed in fresh water, let alone dried off with the help of a clean towel. She had forgotten how good it felt. "Uh oh", Mia groaned, wrapping the towel around her body. Peeking out from the door, her eyes scanned over the room. "You don't suppose they have any extra clothes? Mine are.... home." And by home, she meant stuffed into the hollow of a tree.

Where leather was convenient in every other area, it wasn't ideal for sleeping. The fact her attire had protruding feathers was no help. Usually, she'd slip into some good ol' stolen pajamas and get nice and cozy beneath a tree. Taking a step back inside the bathroom while he either looked or thought of something, Mia began to recall her necromancy classes. She had one today, and faintly she wondered if they'd notice her absence. Despite missing it, she couldn't deny the pleasantness of being here. Although unused to company, it wasn't as bad as she figured save for the occasional awkward moment.

Her thought was disrupted by his question. That question. Mia bit her lip, hesitating. "I'm sort of a jack of all trades, I guess you could say." She prayed it would satisfy him. "If you can't find anything for clothes then I can just wear the usual, I guess", Mia offered; quick to change the topic.[/center:1ahw85jw]
