It had been some months since Roi had suffered through the traumatic accident during a military exercise which had unfortunately caused him to suffer retrograde amnesia. During this time, however, his comrades from the military had not abandoned him, but rather had taken him back to their barracks and cared for him in whatever way they could. In recognition of his exploits in the past which had helped him out quite a lot with their campaigns, they had even helped him set himself up as a freelance mercenary so he could support himself till such a time that his memory would return completely.
He took it even further and specialized in three fields, those being detective work, secret ops missions, and other miscellaneous things should he feel the inclination. He had established himself nicely since then and gained quite the large client base, all of whom were faithful since he had helped them out greatly in their hour of need.
However, after some time, the loneliness from having lost his parents had finally caught up with him, so he had decided to seek out his remaining family, if there were any. To that end, he had sent out letters across the whole continent and began the wait to see if there would be any response whatsoever to his queries. Little did he know that, in a certain area of the continent known as Serendipity, in a certain area, there were indeed family members of his still alive and well and ones who would take him in and care for him as if he was their own.
