I've got an idea, but feel free to come up with something better!
So, here's kind of how it would go. They meet while Etris and Hirador are hunting, and then they find someone really injured in the forest and before the man dies, they tell them of a magical artifact that some evil being is trying to get their hands on. The man was going to find the artifact and then bring it to a special underground cavern in the Yoreiq Isles with pools of fire where they must destroy the artifact. The man doesn't know where the amulet is, but they tell Kilarhas and Etris that a old healer in Arca might have a clue for them. They were on their way to Arca when they were killed by the evil being. They tell Kilarhas that they were part of a secret rangers guild that only a few people know about, Kilarhas knows about it, and that's how they know they can trust the dying man.
