The shading is really good on these. What kind of markers/paint/etc. did you use?

I actually use a Wacom tablet to make the drawings digitally, so for the paint I utilize a program called MyPaint using a custom made pencil brush for the lining and the Niege set brush and airbrush for the colors + shading.

Neat. I don't know how to do digital art yet, but it would be something for me to learn. I figure I could start with OpenOffice Draw or GIMP or something. But a manual would be really helpful for that which I don't have, sadly. I keep hearing great things about PhotoShop but it's expensive, and for good reason.

I guess you could call digital finger painting I have done a sort of 'art' but I just really play around with making various doodles, nothing worth showing though. And definitely nothing of the caliber that you have here. I have a couple finger painting apps, one called 'Finger Paint Magic' and the other is 'Paper!' But have not done much with them.

I have done a bit of drawing but the quality is not that great I don't think. Still one has to start somewhere. Some of my characters I have drawn myself but I like the results better when I use a picture from the net or use a doll maker instead, ie: Doll Divine dot com. My scribbles pale in comparison to these.

Hmm, I've never really tried OfficeDraw or Finger Paint Magic or Paper! (and I didn't know you could draw on GIMP :O), and hells yes Photoshop is veerrrryyy expensive, but personally I would go for something that can support layers and is perhaps more geared toward art in the sense that I've been using (y'know, tablet and pen). If you have the chance to try a tablet, it's real fun and smooth...takes some getting used to in the beginning but then it feels no different from drawing on paper later. I got used to mine within ten minutes or so.

MyPaint is free and it synchronizes with an art tablet and pen, but programs such as PaintTool SAI and Sketchbook Pro are much, much better. SAI costs about $58 and Pro is around...67$? $60? I forgot. But I want them one day. Or at least, SAI, since that's cheaper.

Your art work is SUPER pretty. Makes me want to get back into doing some more sketches/ art again!

And hells yeah - digital art ftw!
I love my wacom- not sure what I'd do without it!
Best investment I made with a credit card to date (well, sans my lap top >_> my purple lap top still makes me happy *_* ) totally okay getting into debt for those two things lol

;D Thanks! I know, I luvs me wacom too <3. I prefer using a desktop with it for some reason. Do you do yours on your laptop? Does it goes smoothly? Mine never works right with the tablet :'(. Or maybe it's just MyPaint...*shrug*.

UPDATE: Added Sacora in color.

I used to prefer using my desktop, but I eventually began to use my laptop- since it's quicker- and I havne't used my desk top ever since.
It's a bit of a hassle, but a bit more convenient in the sense I don't have to deal with re-hooking up a ten + year old computer to try to fight with when it gets laggy as more layers add up :T

I'm not sure about using GIMP to draw, but it might be possible. I do not know all of its features. I've mostly just used it to edit pictures, crop them, adjust resolution and brightness/contrast, etc. If it can be used for drawing, I don't know. If not, no biggie. There's plenty of stuff out there to use. And hopefully they come with a good instruction manual too. :)

Really lovely art! I particularly like the softness of the lines!

UPDATE:

Removed the Queen's Man link.

Took to hand-drawing again and here is my newest creation (Other Art). Me & my little bro and sis are diehard fans of Black Butler--the manga. Nothing against the anime, we just prefer the manga. Anywho here's our 'group photo' with Ciel Phantomhive with Sebastian and Drocell (our only anime-original favorite character) photo-bombing as chibis

PS: I'm the one on the far right, in the leggings.
