Alright! SO I FINALLY DID IT!

I'm assuming most of those reading this are already familiar with this event, but for the new and curious, I'll explain.

The Legend...

Many, MANY years ago, a powerful dragon once terrorized the inhabitants of Adela. This dragon was known as Nevira, the Novian. She burned cities, villages, and any settlement that supported non dragon related sentient species. She did this on one basic principle: She believed any species non dragon related was INFERIOR. They did not deserve to ride, or even live with dragons. Her destruction was so great, a large alliance was formed from powerful mages across the province to put a halt to the dragon's merciless genocide. This Alliance was known as "Mithril Fire" And it consisted of dozens of powerful mages, all aimed towards the salvation of Adela.

However, Nevira was far from any ordinary dragon. Ancient legends told of 5 guardians. 5 Dragons that protected primitive Adela by guarding its natural state, and keeping the peace. These 5 were known as the Holywyrm, Hellwyrm, Depthwyrm, Groundwyrm, and Skywyrm. Each taking a specific field to protect. Nevira was one of these 5... The legends foretold of a holy dragon of angelic power which was lured by evil temptations... This dragon fell victim to the corruption of the void. Altering their mind, appearance, and abilites. And became the Void Wyrm. With a rampaging soul, and a heart full of unstable magic, she became a monster of terrifying power.


After the alliance was formed, it wasn't long until the Dragon Lord acknowledged their challenge, and took it. Mithiril Fire battled the great beast in an unknown location somewhere within the Thunderblacks. The battle was long and brutal, however, the strength of the mages managed to bind the massive dragon in place. Using an ancient, and forbidden power, a human mage stepped forward, and casted Nevira into the void... Mithril Fire had achieved their goal. Nevira was defeated, and Adela was saved. However, the exact effects of the spell used was uncertain, even to the mage who used it. So therefore, Mithril Fire vowed to safeguard Adela in case the spell ever wore off, and the Dragon Lord returned. After the great battle, the guardian chain was broken with Nevira gone. The other 4 great dragons went into a deep slumber, hiding themselves from the world. Leaving Adela to its fate, as the inhabitants were responsible for breaking the chain.

Centuries passed, but nothing happened. Over the many years, the members of the alliance started to dwindle. As time went on, more were convinced the spell was permanent. Mithril Fire slowly died out. Now only very few are still descendants of those who fought the Dragon.

In present day Adela, everything seems to be going normal. The events that took place hundreds of years ago have all but faded from memory. Becoming nothing more then a Fairy Tale. However... Unknown to the public... The ancient seal of the void is breaking... And only the few who were in the bloodline of Mithril Fire can feel it...

The Reality...
By an unknown force, the seal has been broken! The Dragon Lord has returned to the world, with seering vengeance and hatred against those who cursed her. However, she is not alone this time. Nevira will use her persuasion skills and convince many other dragons that they must liberate themselves from others. A conflict is coming... Which side are you on?

Welcome to the official Darkened Skies plotting thread! This thread will act as the thread tracker for this event, and announcement board! As well as the character roster board! Interested in joining? Terrific! All you need to do is fill out a quick application with a link to your completed character! Once that's done, I'll place your character on the board along with the others, and you have become an official player for the Darkened Skies Dragon Conflict! There are no rules as to who and who cannot join! Any character of any species is welcomed! (Provided they have a good explanation for getting involved) Remember! These people will be acting as official Darkened Skies Event moderators! While they have no actual power on site, they do have power for this event. Feel free to ask them questions concerning the plot, and send them your character applications. They have the right to approve or disapprove of any character app they see fit. As well on the rare occasion kick members from the event if they break any site rules. They can run side plots, and give people permission to do so as well!

Having spent a little over a century dealing with all kinds of forbidden magic, he is quite knowledgeable on the subject and could prove to be a worthy ally. So far, he's managed to keep this aspect of his research a secret from the general public. However, some scholars within the magical community claim that he might not be as honest about his interests as he insists. This rumor is strengthened by the negative stereotype that the X'zyri are a people who worships demons and actively practice blood rituals. As far as ambitions go, he'll probably be reluctant to join at first, but he has a tendency to fall face-first into conflicts that he wants nothing to do with. He will, however, be very interested in studying whatever spell the Mithiril Fire used along with its affects.
He will not be a descendant of the Mithiril Fire.
OOC (Out Of Character) Ambitions: I'm pretty flexible based off of what other protags we have. He could act as a mentor, a person who researches and translates the ancient forbidden texts, a main player among the mages, or all of the above. I'm even open for ideas and suggestions. She felt as though she was doomed until a kind and caring elderly man took him back to his village, and together along with everyone else in the village, raised the young dragon. She is fiercely loyal to the people she sees has her family: human kind. She seeks to protect them in any way possible. Besides, why would she want to serve a species that abandoned her at her time of need?

Hmmm, do you think my char Aveline and her Order of Drage would fit in all this?

She could have a role, but I'm sure she'd automatically be enemies with Nevira. Aveline would be the exact kind of person Nevira would hate, especialy since she's human.

A protagonist with their own agenda might make things interesting.

I think my character Rathen fills that role perfectly. Well, maybe not perfectly since he might end up being an antagonist, But still.

After discussion with some people who haven't yet put up their characters, this is an update that Nevia's fist thread will start soon!

As for who will all be in it has not yet been decided. It will be the thread which depicts the void seal being broken, and Nevira returning to Adela.

Brace yourselves! As soon as the intro thread is finished Nevira will make her presence known throughout Adela... And it involves Ketra...

Time to plot how your characters will finally get involved! And for my newest addition to join the party.

Alright, so whats the general context of the thread? Im just wondering because I want to make sure that if my character joins, it makes sense. Thanks!

The thread in Ketra won't actually be what most people are expecting. Nevira won't attack the city. Rather my new character (currently in the works) will be wandering the expansive city where she will run into a few of your guys's characters. (Assuming that's alright with you) My plan is for someone or many people to witness her getting kidnapped by a small group of draconian mercenaries. After a chase scene, and probably a battle. They defeat the crew, and are given a large hint about Nevira's return, and the fact they were hired to kidnap the girl, as she has a strong, mysterious connection to the Dragon Lord. :)

Anyone can get involved in this.

That sounds super cool. I think Rathen will be more interested in the draconian than the girl, possibly, but that might add an interesting dynamic on the rescue thing.

Alright, now the character is posted, I'd like to get some input from the other writers :)

Sensing the thread acting between Nevira and Senka will end soon, we can begin the story with the rest of the characters. I'd like to know who wants to be involved in the first thread involving the Draconian chase. This thread would act as an intro for their characters as well.

If you prefer to wait and get your character involved during a later part in the story, that's fine as well. I'm thinking about 4 people should be the max for the first thread :)

He cares little for other dragons, and will be just as inclined to try and kill them if they annoy him or get in his way. However, Tzaan has an interest in new things, so part of his reason is to see new things and learn about what could later turn out to be his enemy.
OOC (Out Of Character) Ambitions: My character is fairly new, so I want to flesh him out a bit and do something with him. While having his details written down is all well and good, I prefer to play with him, and then alter the descriptions based on what I've done in the roleplay. Other than that, I'm up for almost anything, provided anything character-changing is checked with me first.

Quick update!

Plot details for the first thread. For those not involved should still read this so they're aware.

For the past few days, a group of shady looking Draconian mercenaries have been spotted hanging around Ketra, capital of Adela. They are seemingly trying to avoid any contact with others, but are obviously searching for something. In the dead of night, they make their move. The group consists of 6 Draconians, all armed and skilled fighters. During her walk to the Inn, Vaia finds herself surrounded. However, before she can draw her weapon, her neck is struck with a poisonous dart, rendering the girl into a deep sleep.

Of course, this scene doesn't go unnoticed. Others nearby (Rylzyr, Mortum, Rathen maybe? Still haven't gotten conformation from him yet xD) Witness the group kidnap a seemingly helpless girl. Weather it's out of the kindness of their own hearts, or they see something that catches their interested, they chase the group down!

This will act as the official intro to the thread, giving off a tiny, but not direct foreshadow of Nevira's presence.   That will come later... >:)

Oh yeah sorry, Rathen is in for this first thread!

Sorry for the slight delay, but the first thread will start in the next few days! After that, we can probably branch this event off into multiple threads so characters can meet each other and perform acts of mischief and heroism!

IC Ambitions: Saevic has always had a deep interest in Dragons. The destruction they bring, the power they possess within their mighty wings... He sees them not only as a valuable tool in warfare, but as a valuable tool in the destruction of all. Being a demon, Saevic felt the changes in the air as the seal broke. He could feel a mighty and horrible power breaking free from its confines to scorch the world in revenge. This made him feel delighted. Now, he had a perfect opportunity in front of him. Find a way to harness the dragons' power, and use it for his own gain of the destruction of mankind. All he needed was a sharp tongue and a convincing bribe to get the beasts of the sky on his side...

OC Ambitions: Out of all the characters I have, Saevic has zero threads. This is mainly because I wrote him to be a major villain, and the only way this would truly work is to either make an event, or join in on one. I saw this event as a perfect opportunity to show off his personality. Most notably, his ability to cause chaos and gain the trust of beings just as dangerous as him for his own devilish agenda.

IC Ambitions: Tri and Saevic have been at odds for a very long time. Meaning that whenever the demon does something to stir up chaos, Tri is ready to stop him by whatever means necessary. Upon ambushing a fort supposedly captured by Saevic, Tri learned through harsh interrogation that the demon had a plan involving dragons. Not much else was said. The swordsman, upon learning this information, had to know more. Dragons are deadly creatures, and harnessing their abilities could mean utter destruction. He couldn't let him accomplish his hateful goals.

OC Ambitions: I thought this would be a cool opportunity to establish Saevic and Tri as arch enemies, as well as building upon their chemistry.

IC Ambitions: Oblivia loves drama. She loves watching things go up in flames, and escalate to the point of no return. So when Tri came to her doorstep, battered and bruised from his little trip to Saevic's fort, she was obviously curious. Especially when he started asking for various potions for an unspecified "trip." She asked her questions, wanting to know what the latest news in the swordsman's life was. But knowing her quite well, he declined to answer anything. From that point on, Oblivia agreed to help him with any potions or remedies he needed, but she kept a close eye on him as well...

OC Ambitions: For pretty much the same reasons as Saevic. I don't have very many threads for Oblivia, so it's nice to put her to good use every now and then. Even if her only real purpose is to bother Tri and serve as a sort of supporting character in the story.

As you can probably tell, I like having my characters intertwined with each other. lol

IC Ambitions: Tri and Saevic have been at odds for a very long time. Meaning that whenever the demon does something to stir up chaos, Tri is ready to stop him by whatever means necessary. Upon ambushing a fort supposedly captured by Saevic, Tri learned through harsh interrogation that the demon had a plan involving dragons. Not much else was said. The swordsman, upon learning this information, had to know more. Dragons are deadly creatures, and harnessing their abilities could mean utter destruction. He couldn't let him accomplish his hateful goals.

OC Ambitions: I thought this would be a cool opportunity to establish Saevic and Tri as arch enemies, as well as building upon their chemistry.

IC Ambitions: Oblivia loves drama. She loves watching things go up in flames, and escalate to the point of no return. So when Tri came to her doorstep, battered and bruised from his little trip to Saevic's fort, she was obviously curious. Especially when he started asking for various potions for an unspecified "trip." She asked her questions, wanting to know what the latest news in the swordsman's life was. But knowing her quite well, he declined to answer anything. From that point on, Oblivia agreed to help him with any potions or remedies he needed, but she kept a close eye on him as well...

OC Ambitions: For pretty much the same reasons as Saevic. I don't have very many threads for Oblivia, so it's nice to put her to good use every now and then. Even if her only real purpose is to bother Tri and serve as a sort of supporting character in the story.

As you can probably tell, I like having my characters intertwined with each other. lol

Hey guys! I've mentioned this somewhere else on the site but I just wanted to pop in and apologize for how long it's taking me to update. I've been extremely busy these last few weeks and the stress of everything I have to do has been giving me insane writer's block. However, things should calm down by the beginning of next week. I'll try to get that reply ASAP!

ALright! So I know this event has gotten kinda quiet over the past week or so with the slow start of the first thread. So now I am giving permission for EVERYONE to get involved by starting their own threads. Here's how it'll work.

If you wish to start your own thread, either reply telling me WHO out of all the chars on the roster is going to be in this thread, and what the main objective and purpose of said thread will be. Feel free to PM the owners of any of the listed characters to ask them to plot with you.

Assuming everything goes through, I'll add it to the thread tracker, and put it's status as "ACTIVE" There are a few rules however. First off, you cannot have any characters in your thread that are ALREADY in another active thread. They can be in a completed thread, seeing as that doesn't interfere with the timeline. So, if any of you wanted you could ask Nevira to be apart of it. Since she is currently in no active threads. I will be watching all of the threads you guys create, and PM you suggestions to keep the plot relevant to the story itself.

I am giving you guys complete freedom with the situation of these threads, except for a few things. For example, Nevira's presence in Adeal is still Unkown by the general population, so if you are RPing as a protagonists, it is likely you they'd have no idea that she's returned. Until a thread is created involving Nevira, who makes her presence known to the rest of Adela.

this action is mainly due to pick up speed of the event. Doing one thread at a time will slow it down significantly, so I'm hoping multiple at once will make this go smoother. Also so no one has to continue playing the waiting game. Make sure whatever thread you guys create, it is relevant to the event. I'd recommend getting your chars together, so you'd already be apart of a group when the second half kicks in.

I hope this gives you guys muse to keep this event alive. Feel free to drop hints of Nevira being present if you're RPING as a protag. If your an antagonist, it is fine if you already know. Unless you'd much rather to an intro thread with the Void Wyrm herself...

Valia is.. Resourceful. She can confront the bad guy anywhere.

At this point in the event's timeline, Nevira would most likely be at the peak of Demonpeak. A location she decided to rally her army of dragon followers.  However, they'd all be situated underneath the mountain the huge expansive cave system. So yeah, she'd be concerned with raising an army right now. Only the dragons who are already part of the army knows she's returned. Unless your character has already found out by other means.

She can follow the mass congregation of dragons and find out what is going on? She has a very keen ability of clairvoyance and can sense clusters of dragons or humanoïds from miles away.

I'm thinking of a pretty action-oriented thread... Involving the dragon riders of Adela. I was thinking that the dragons rebel against their riders and begin scorching the town of Ketra, angered and ready to join Nevira's cause. The characters I'm including are Tri and Oblivia. Anyone with a free protagonist can join by request. Lemme know what you think, Violet. It's your event, after all.

Wynn is also open for just about anything!

And the good news is, I'm back in the USA and I have a lot more free time to be active. :D

THat all sounds like it could work, although there are few things I will point out.

Nevira has kept her dragon army hidden away in the Thunderblacks, so it would be likely that no one outside knows about her return. If they do know about a dragon army, it would most likely be viewed as a small pocket rebellion, nothing too serious. Until people know and understand who the leader of it all is. Also, you should put someone's antagonist in this thread :3

I feel like any of the evil dragons on the antagonist roster would fit to spark this little fight at Ketra.

It could work, Valia isn't aligned with anyone, she's merely a neutral party. She'd come to investigate and try to talk to Nevira. She isn't exactly human, more a being of almost pure fire, so that works ^^

While her army is situated underneath the mountain. The caves would be often patrolled by Draconians who've been hired.  Now that you've been given the layout, feel free to start the thread. Make sure you label it with: [Darkened Skies Event] So we can boost a little advertisement. After that I'll input it into the thread tracker.

I think that Baia would best fit the bill for starting the dragon uprising in Ketra. However, any dragon antagonist would do. If you're interested, just post here that you'd like to get involved. Same goes for protagonists.

I also wouldn't mind Nevira meeting Saevic, but that can wait. He too felt Nevira's return, when it happened, but he has no idea who she is or what she's planning. All he knows is that she's a dragon.

Avasi is not an unfeeling entity, however, and can be potentially convinced to aid one side or another, either temporarily or permanently, through solid arguments - some destruction is natural, though on grand scale? Definitely not.

While Avasi's initial position is that of an impartial spectator, I don't expect it to remain the same throughout the entire conflict. First off, we have a few new mods. Congratulations to... meeee! (Oh, and to @Egoistic Waffle and @Heretic King luv u bbies <3  :-* ) We'll be lurking around, making sure everything's running smoothly, answering questions, punishing the law-breakers, and stuff. Ya know, normal moderator duties. So yeah, that's a thing.

I'd also suggest that you guys re-read the post about the lore 'cause our wonderful Violet added some pretty neat stuff to it!

Now, on to the plot.

Pretty soon, Vaia will be reviving the Mithril Fire! Together, they'll fight Nevira under one banner!

What we want to do pretty soon is to start little side-quests. These will be ran either by us mods or by you guys. They'll consist of little things that will help to further either Nevira or the Mithril Fire's cause such as: Mithril Fire sending such and such characters out to take out one of Nevira's outposts or Nevira sending one of her lackeys to assassinate a Mithril Fire Official. Stuff like that. If any of you've played Dragon Age Inquisition, you'll kind of know what to expect from this. We're always up for ideas on little side missions, so please don't be afraid to throw them out there! There's no such thing as a dumb idea! ^.^

Otherwise, she can be a catalyst for this event as well! I think @Egoistic Waffle 's Avasi would be great for this event as well.

Perhaps there should be a congression of dragons, as Nevira wants to sway as many as possible to her side. If Hvit is accepted to the event, he watches the goings on of dragon kind intently and a mass gathering would grab his attention. It would grab a lot of Draconic attention to be fair. That way the dragons could know about the whole mumbo jumbo going on, and when the whole Razing of Ketra proceeds, the protagonist dragons (we precious few), could swoop in, and fight back, not only causing more destruction, but also really bringing the importance of this event site wide. If the admins approve it, a scorched and broken Ketra would change the map and thus the world a little bit. Makes it Connloath Civil War levels of change. But hey that's just plottering, right?

I like this idea! But what I really like is the idea of destroying Ketra, even if it's just partially. Regardless of whether or not we roll with this specific idea, I think it would be neat to do that at some point, so long as the official admins approve.

Upon arrival he sees the scenario, he sees the immediate danger around his friend the Scholar, and wants to back him up the way Rylzyr has for him in the past, but doesn't care too much for humans, juxtaposing him. He couldn't care less if the humans die or not, just as Nevira doesn't care about the goings on of demons. Ultimately he sides against the dragons, but doesn't really want to save humans either. He's really doing it for Rylzyr.

OOC (Out Of Character) Ambitions: I just want to throw him in there late game, and use this character as a side one. My main event character is Hvit, but two characters ensures that if one isn't able to attend somewhere or help shape something, another can. Unless this thread is going to take place AFTER the next one I have planned with Thorok's character: Mazaloth, it wouldn't make sense of him to be involved, as Nevira has not yet awakened the Hellwyrm from his ancient slumber. (Bear with me, I was planning on starting that one today)

Also, I DID have an idea about this event that I wanted to throw past you. In the current thread Saving Grace, Vaia, Rylzyr and Mortum (possibly Rathen but he's been inactive) Are situated in Ketra. The idea was for another thread to start taking place directly after this one, where the trio leave Ketra to go confront the culprit who tried to kidnap Vaia. I was thinking this same culprit (A villan I'll add to the roster soon named Nazix.) Will confess his plans to Vaia once they defeat him, and during this thread is when your battle takes place in Ketra. They come back to the smoldering mess, which will probably be when more of your characters meet Vaia, and it acts as a huge kick in the butt for her, realizing what exactly her "destiny" is so to speak, and then we get into the good stuff...

Aohdei should show up in Ketra just before the Razing happens, so by the time Rylzyr comes back he already knows the stakes, and is ready to back him up. Burnt Ketra is like the meeting place where the New Mithril Fire is born. That's the key event.

Seldom does an opportunity to take so many souls for keeping like this turn up, so he's taken his chances and sided with what he knows well are an incredibly destructive force of draconic warriors rising in the world. With so many people-- er, dragons, to have on one side of a conflict, by doing his ordinary job of deceiving people into signing away their afterlife, he could not only fulfill his purpose on the overworld, but do it quickly as the people he tricks are killed swiftly by the rancorous dragons he should now be spared by! Why would someone ever deny this kind of chance? It only works so well...
OOC (Out Of Character) Ambitions: I don't mind if Sage is involved much or little, but I want him to have some sort of conflict with a protagonist. Whether the protagonist has their morals rotted and their side changed, Sage ends up supporting the other side, or even an end with blood spilling and no-one changing... I think a bit of a moral dilemma for someone with this character involved would be very fun to roleplay, as his objectives mean well for no one but himself; surely someone would seek to stop him.

And it's that position that also makes him feel that he needs to do whatever he can. That, and on top of that he is also the sort of person who needs to feel like he contributes in some way in order to feel good about himself. He wouldn't forgive himself if he just stood idly by.

While they have remained indifferent to this movement of forces, Aeizith chose himself to be on the winning side of this war to confirm his family's safety at the end of it all. Secretly, though, Aeizith is doing this for his own reasons...

Aeizith is a dragon with a very meek and unintimidating front, seeming to fear and bow to all. He has an intense distaste for killing, preferring to knock out or dominate an opponent to the point of immobility.

DEEP beneath said pacifism, Aeizith is a sinister planner and ruthless executioner, though he hardly shows this side often and only to those he thinks deserves such a fate. Aeizith really only shows off his true sadism when he thinks he has the complete upper hand over an opponent and only when they have crossed him, or those he cares about in one respect or another.

OOC (Out Of Character) Ambitions: I wish to show the darker side of Aeizith, the dragon he truly is underneath all the pacifist fluff. I see him as sort of a side-lines dragon or at least trying to be one but is constantly being pulled into battles. I wish for him to befriend many of the good guys around here, make bonds so if (and perhaps when), they are hurt, Aeizith will be able to show what kind of dark being he really is
