Dimitri has a light to medium olive complexion, depending on the time of year. His skin tans well in the sunny summer months and pales slightly during the darker winter months. All year long it is a warm shade, never dimming to a cool pale like so many Serenians. This can be attributed in part to Moonspear's proximity to Whitesands and the more abundant Thanti blood that runs through that province than in other parts of the country. A Thanti immigrant contributed some blood to the line a few generations back.

His hair and eyes are definitely Serenian, though. Both his hair and eyes are a soft lilac in color. Dimitri keeps his hair very short on the sides and slightly longer on top. It is usually either a slightly disheveled mess or styled slightly spiked. For formal occasions and balls it is combed very neatly to be presentable.

For body type, Dimitri is not short, but not overly tall either and is overall rather soft. He is not skinny, having a slightly broader build, but his body has not been sculpted through labor or intense physical training, leaving him slightly squishy but not fat. Dimitri is a scholar, mage, and holy man, not a warrior or knight.



PERSONALITY
A devout follower of Moonspear's patron god, Fyarion, Dimitri is a very religious, spiritual, and holy man. He values intelligence, being very intelligent himself and is as passionate about his scholarly pursuits as he is about his political ones. Obviously to raise his family to the top of Moonspear hierarchy he holds great ambition as well as charisma. While other noble families might resent him, the common folk of Moonspear love him. They view him as a very holy and righteous man that cares about their faith and devotion to Fyarion. His lowborn favoring policies also serve to endear him to his people.

While he always seems to have an easy smile and softly spoken words for someone, privately he's a very reserved man, keeping his innermost thoughts to himself. One would be wise not to mistake his gentle charm for weakness. Dimitri is a shrewd businessman and though rarely displays a temper, can be as vengeful as you please. Subtly, of course. He does have a public image to maintain, you know.



SKILLS
Talents/skills: 
A strong, confident leader. Dimitri was raised to play the political game, and he is good at it. How else do you think House Orlov secured the position of High Lord? He was also educated in military structure and battle tactics, but he has military advisors to help him maintain his soldiers.

Magic Abilities:
Dimitri is a spirit mage, simply meaning that he can manipulate spiritual energy and commune with spirits. Because of the taboo on certain forms of spirit magic, such as necromancy, he tends to focus on healing with his powers.

It is possible for him to gather the soul of a living or freshly deceased person to give life to a magical construct. This is blasphemy and something he is capable of, but refuses to do.

Not technically a pet, but close enough. Lazar is an arcane construct built by Dimitri when he was fourteen years of age. The construct has magical power of its own, but is bound to the will of Dimitri. Both alive and not alive, Lazar is a hollow shell; there is only magical energy beneath his clothes, only the light of his soul shining out from the darkness of his cowl beneath his floppy hat.

The soul that powers Lazar is bound forever to Dimitri, while the outer shell of the construct can be destroyed or damaged, the soul will not and cannot rest unless Dimitri himself dies or releases it. Neither of which seem to be an option any time soon.


BACKSTORY
Dimitri was born and raised in Moonspear, obviously with a silver spoon wedged firmly between his privileged lips. The Orlov house was a powerful and wealthy one, but not the most powerful and wealthy by any means. That has been steadily changing in recent years, and the movement upwards in society only sped up when his father and brother perished from an illness that took several lives in the province.

As soon as Dimitri was old enough, his mother stepped down and made him the head of the house. She died a few years later. When the High Seat of Moonspear became vacant, he seized his opportunity to place his own family name as the highest in the province, at least for the time being. His position is precarious and highly opposed by other high-ranking nobles. They attack everything from his age to his lack of wife or heir.

All of which he plans to remedy as soon as possible. Putting off marriage and the duties associated with it were fine before he became the highest lord in Moonspear, but he cannot avoid it any longer.
