I ran the Connlaothian civil war. For more info, check out it's page here. The war has now turned into a 'Cold War' with it's plotting page found here. It's no longer a huge site wide event but the scars are there.

She scowled a bit, but it was more in worry than anger. Trying not to let it show, she tossed her hair and snipped, "Fine then."

She moved toward the door, very slowly and deliberately so she wasn't swaying on her feet.

She paused then, realizing she didn't actually know her way out. Okay, maybe she hadn't researched this job as carefully as she should've, but it was supposed to be a simple, in-and-out kind of thing!

She cleared her throat. "I may not be acquainted with the more...conventional methods of entering and exiting your facility," she admitted primly, gaze flicking to the dumbwaiter she'd used to sneak in.

He raised a brow at her and peered a gaze over at the dumb waited. Shaking his head, he sighed, "So you actually need an escort? And here I thought youd at least be clever enough..." he went on, walking past her, "To know how to open a door." And he threw open the small door Laz had gone through earlier. It lead to another smaller room. But that one had just one door without a window.

"Try that door. And don't let it hit you in the way out."

She whipped around and opened her mouth to snap some sort of retort- but for some reason what came out was a more-than-slightly woozy "Oohh..."

She sort of swayed on her feet, vision going dark at the edges. Oh, hell no, she thought. I'm not doing this, I do NOT faint. She took a step forward and promptly collapsed, unconscious.

He'd be glad when he'd be rid of her. Trouble maker that she was, and one that had a good body, he knew he'd feel at least a little guilty about that later. But it was just a brief moment in his life, and he could only hope they wouldn't run into each other again. In the same breath...
He at least had a nice memento burned into his mind. And hey, the bit of guilt that ebbed at his mind? He could easily quell it with a reminder she was a thief. It only made sense to make her humiliated.

However, his reflection was brief when he realized that instead of heading straight for the door, she was heading straight for the floor! Trest's eyes widened and faster than he knew how he did it, he dove at her, catching her before she hit the ground- one arm wrapped around her, the other cupping her head. He had saved her from hitting the ground, but gained a few scrapes to his knees to catch his own fall (as well as her's).

And for the longest time, he stared in disbelief at her unmoving form.

"Hey." He gave her a shake. "Hey demon lady." He shook her again, swearing under his breath. "What are you trying to pull?"

Though his heart and mind raced and he even felt himself begin to sweat. Was this for real? What if she was sick? Or.. had she been injured? And why, was another question he should be asking himself, did he even care?

He gave her another gentle shake.
"Hey, come on! How can you have really fainted just a few feet from my front door?" And he sneered a bit at the thought before shaking her again. "Really? Truly? Are you really going to remain limp?" And sighing, he finally stood, adjusting her weight in his arms as he looked skyward.

"Only the Gods would bless me with such a day."

Frowning, he looked down at her form.

"You'd better actually be unconscious. If this is some sort of a joke..." And he looked her over, as if daring her to come clean.

Jynx had used her power to the point of exhaustion before, but never to the point of knocking herself out. Had she been conscious, she would have been shouting obscenities at herself for pushing so far.

As it was, her mind was trapped in darkness. Cold, vast darkness. Her whole body shivered violently despite her skyrocketing temperature and her breath was coming in short, shallow pants.

Trest looked at her..
And looked and looked before sighing.

"Ansgar's beard..." Growling, he turned around and headed back into his office, but by passed it to another hall that was hidden behind a thick curtain. The hall wasn't too long, but it lead to a staircase that wound its way three stories up into the building. The room was small, but cozy, having a make shift sort of bed out of a million blankets and pillows. The bed hadn't been made, and there was just a few other pieces of furniture in the room aside from it.

He took her to his bed, laying her day with another sigh before looking her over. He kept his hands to his hips.

"You better actually be unconscious." And he moved to a nearby chair, pulled it out and took a seat. "I'm giving you my bed for now so you'd better not be pretending," he went on, warning her as he looked her over. Sighing, he looked towards the ceiling. "Just know this is charity. Once you're awake you're on your own."
He kept looking at the ceiling, but the noiseless room made him anxious. He turned his attention back to her.

"Don't stay that way for too long. Ihave to stay here and baby sit you like a new born."
And he leaned his cheek into his propped up fist, sighing and hoping this wouldn't take too long-
but he had a feeling it would.

He sulked.
"Should have brought my paper work.."

Darkness gave way to images. Jynx frowned, but otherwise was perfectly still, practically comatose. Flashes of memory that felt more like dream than reality danced behind her eyelids and she made several small, distressed noises.

Starting to regain a bit of mobility, she shifted restlessly among the pillows. Her temperature was easing its way down but her pulse still hammered, heart racing in her chest.

A picture of Ilieth, fangs bared in a sickening grin, rose up in her mind and she gave a soft mewling sound that, had she been awake to hear, would have utterly shamed her. As it was she simply tossed again, chest rising and falling with rapid breaths and a word that might have been "mama" tumbling from her lips.

He had been diligently keeping watch, or at least he told himself that when his eyes began to grow heavy and soon went closed. But at her noise, his eyes snapped open and he stared at her form for a while. Did she just whimper?

His brows knit together as he stood up and examined her. She looked restless, even as she rested. His frown deepened. He moved forward and noticed her fever. Sighing, he went to fill a bucket of cool water, dipped a towel in it and gently patted her forehead with it before letting it rest across.

Sitting down again he shook his head and tsked.

"You really aren't much of a thief or magician, are you?"
And he leaned back in his chair and simply watched her. Bad thief or not, a thief was still a thief and this one was in his home and somehow...
In his care.

He sighed and looked to the ceiling again. Boy was he tired.

"Do you want power?"

"Yes."

"I can give it to you. But there is a price."

"I'll pay it."

A slow, fanged smirk. Then darkness.

Jynx bolted awake with a gasp that immediately turned into a moan at the pounding in her head. Which felt...pleasantly cool? She reached up to touch the wet cloth across her brow, frowning in confusion.

Which caused her to moan again, dropping back onto the pillows. Wait, pillows? "Where...where am I?" she panted, eyes flicking around the strange room.

He had almost drifted back to sleep, but when Jynx awoke suddenly, so did he. He was just grateful he didn't jump out of his chair like a fool, and was able to observe her as she awoke, confused. He smirked grumpily and leaned forward in his chair.

"You're in my bed because you fainted in my house, but now that you're awake, I guess you can take care of your own fever." And he moved to set the bowl of water beside her.

"Fever?" Jynx repeated groggily. She watched as he moved the bowl closer, trying to puzzle through what was happening. "Your bed? What...?"

She peered up at him, frowning in suspicion. "Have you been...were you- taking care of me?"

"Take care of you?" he looked away as if it weren't that big of a deal. "What else could I do? You dropped over like a sack of coals. Though nothing is cheap around here... so I'll have to be sure to collect some sort of a fee from you to pay for my services."

And at that, he gave her a mischievious little grin.
"I'm not exactly cheap, you know. My time is precious."

He seemed to be playing- well, sort of- but she felt her guard come up. "Is that why I'm in your bed?" she asked, voice steely. She hoped her tone could hide the rising, instinctive fear; she wasn't sure if he could tell, but she knew she was in no shape to be fighting back if he tried to pull something. Not that she really expected him to, but...

Well, he'd had her naked within thirty seconds of seeing her for gods' sakes!

The Never King- a king erased from history because of his dabblings in dark magic (among other things...) suddenly because a present day problem when an unlikely group of adventurers 'awakens' him from the grave. You can read more about the event on the plotting page here and information page here!

I ran the Connlaothian civil war. For more info, check out it's page here. The war has now turned into a 'Cold War' with it's plotting page found here. It's no longer a huge site wide event but the scars are there.

She glowered, but her head was pounding and she still felt far too warm but at the same time shivery. She really couldn't afford to antagonize him.

"Thank you," she said grudgingly. "I will...of course repay you for your...kindness." She bit the words out like she was choking on them. She wasn't used to being in this position- in fact, she couldn't recall having ever been in this position.

"Care to say that with more bite? You know you could be in worse places right now. Just consider yourself lucky I'm not that bad of a guy."

He folded his arms and looked her over.

"Though you might want to explain to me just how you ended up like this frail, damsel who just crumples over onto people's floors when she's trying to leave. I mean if you think that helps get you sympathy from a guy after you tried to steal from him..."

"I wasn't trying to get sympathy," she snapped, then clenched her eyes shut against the headache. Grumbling, she added, "Even if that had been my plan, I've already learned the whole blushing-helpless-damsel trick doesn't really do it for you."

Rubbing her temple, she said, a bit more softly, "I just...I used too much power. Banishing Ilieth was hard, and then controlling Dionish- it just took it out of me, that's all. A few hours rest and I'll be out of your hair."
