The fae being wrinkled her nose as she trod through what could have been a rather beautiful and mysterious woods, but all Zyllenna could sense and smell was death and fear. It was a war-zone, tarnished and withering due to the human's odd need to kill one another. Well kill anything with two legs apparently...

This was where Zyllenna had found herself after a rather impish, fairy, sent her spiraling out of 'Ziska's' fae ridden territory to fend for herself in this odd land. Frankly Zyll had been over joyed by the sudden change in circumstance, but that had waned after a mere fortnight in Connloath. Now she wanted to explore what was outside the kingdom's borders, and she had a new disguise to work in her favor.

Zyllenna ran her palms down the corset of her burgundy and black gown, the fabric while seeming misty and ethereal in it's true form, appeared as solid as any clothing worn by a lady in Connloath. The armored parts of the set remained, yet her face, pale skinned and with large crimson eyes glittering with a hawk like intensity, were visible. She was human, albeit the Banshee was having trouble with hiding all aspects of her fae heritage, including the unusual thinness of her teeth and how they all came to a point. Clearly carnivorous.

Tilting her head, Zyll squinted when rays of the midday sun managed to find space enough to penetrate the mossy, damp floor of Sirantil Valley and blind her momentarily. Blinking to expel the black dots in her vision, Zyllenna's chin dropped so that she peered in-front of her, a hand brushing back strands of ebony hair from her cheek where they had clung to her skin.  A recent rain had swept through, she could still smell it in the air and it was beginning to warm, creating a mirage of humidity that dampened the Banshee's skin.

The travel out of Connlaoth was turning out to take a lot longer than Flint had planned. Deciding that he'd find better business and talent in Essyrn, the thief disembarked Reajh at the early hours of the morning, riding his steed towards the Sirantil valley. Strapped to his back was a crossbow he had made for him by a special mechanic a couple of years ago. That, and the blade at his hip, gave him confidence to traverse the valley, despite warnings from the locals of a 'Banshee'.

The thief didn't believe in ghosts. So this 'Banshee' must have gotten her name for some other reason. An unusually pale murderer perhaps? Either way, she wouldn't be stopping him on his travels for long.

Riding across Connlaoth helped the man clear his mind. The province had been fruitless to his quest to bring down his father's business. He hadn't found a single thief, criminal or even an impressive thug. So he had decided to go and try someplace else. He pulled his hood up as the horse treated through a curtain of trees, preventing menacing branches and briars from taking across his head. There was an eerie silence in the wood, as if someone was watching him. The thief kept a hand close to the short blade at his hip, eyes fixed ahead of him, hoping his path would cross with a tavern some time soon.

It was to the sound of hooves that Zyllenna found herself pausing in her tracks, head tilted and ears twitching at the sounds. It sounded like one large animal and the Banshee wondered if it was maybe a unicorn, or perhaps a white stag, both of which were quiet sacred fae creatures. Perhaps her kin could shed light on these backwards creatures called humans?

To her pleasure, Zyllenna realized that whatever it was, trod toward her current direction, however she could not sight it yet, and made little sound as she glided just shy of it's path to watch in the gloom of the tree's shade.

'Clip, clop, clip, clop,' arching a brow, Zyll peered at the horse and it's master, lips curving down at the corners. Not a fae beast, just one of those persistent humans, and one that carried weapons that could hurt Zyllenna. This hadn't been the first time a human on a horse had tried to ride her down, and she had become somewhat wary, and frankly annoyed, wondering why she caused this reaction in them. A thought surface that perhaps steering clear of the human would be best, however another thought silenced the first. It was worth an attack by one lone rider to test whether her disguise would work!

Wraith-like, the Banshee kept pace, following parallel from them through the valley until there came a bend in the path. She shot forward, evading trees and their roots with her unusual agility, to stand in the middle of the path. There she waited for the horsemen to turn the corner, a dark haired beauty in his path.

He nearly trampled the woman. Bounding through the trees on horseback, he hadn't expected there to be anyone walking around alone, save for the Banshee. He'd have to problem with flattening her. This woman, however, looked a little too innocent to be some kind of demon. The thief reminded himself that demons were agents of deceit, dangerous despite an approachable appearance.

His horse reared up, and would have thrown him to the ground if he hadn't wrangled the beast back to normality. Swearing, he glared at the woman. "Are you looking to meet death?", he snarled. He'd had innocent blood on hands before, it was hard to wash off. "Are you alone?", he asked, ever cautious. If this wasn't the Banshee, it could have been a lure placed by bandits who were waiting in hiding in the trees.

The Banshee's eyes widened as the horse reared before her at it's master's commanding pull and danced back a couple steps, ebony locks fluttering. Blood red eyes peered up, losing the slight panic in an instant to now appear simply curious. "Death? Are you threatening me?" The woman's voice rose, a lilt foreign sounding to any human accent in the land reached the horseman's ears. Her brows pulled together, blood reddened eyes glinting from the sun narrowing slightly.

Zyllenna had wreathed herself in an enchantment where the fae sword sheathed at her waist was invisible and the helm she often wore appeared as a shiny crimson and black circlet across her forehead. She blinked slowly and arched a brow. "Zyll is alone, though she has seen others in the woods but doubts any are close." She drawled, glancing over her shoulder for a moment, gaze sweeping the woods. Seeing nothing worthy of note, the fae brought her wide eyed gaze back to the horse-man, and then to the horse.

The horse was not so fooled by the lovely disguise, it's nostrils flaring and feet stamping. The animal snorts and pulls at it's bit insistently, the fae's presence felt alien, wrong even, making the horse nervous. Zyllenna tilted her head, realizing a little too late that animals were a lot more intuitive then humans. "Your animal is upset, maybe Zyll was wrong and there is someone else out here..." She pierced the masked man with a intense stare. Had he realized? Would he attack her?
