Blink

It had been nearly a month since Nevayah had left home. Busy days and long nights kept her from her family as she traveled with the caravan that sold her tonics. Her mission, of course, being to gather a few herbs and seeds she couldn't acquire at home. The entire time she was away all she could think of was her children and her beloved Lanister. Always they were in the back of her mind and with each passing day, the pain of missing them had grown stronger and stronger.

Letters had been sent out but even she wasn't sure how many of them actually made it home. It was hard to keep track of such things when you were constantly on the road. Today though she knew one letter, in particular, would be arriving and it was all because she would be there to make sure it was delivered properly.

"My Dearest Beloved,
We are now passing through Connloath but by the time you read this we will probably have already passed through and be well on our way to Hyoite. After that, I believe we will finally be headed home. Assuming this letter only takes one week to reach you I should be home in another week or two. I miss you dearly and dream of you every single night. Please tell Emia and Izayah I love and miss them dearly.

      With love,
         Nevayah"

One thing she failed to mention in the letter was how they were actually not going to Hyoite but instead were already on their way back home. Nevayah would be there within the hour...

Salzem

It had been nearly a month since Nevayah had went on her trading missions and Lanister was miserable... just miserable... Without his sweet, beautiful wife, poor Lanister had to juggle his family, his job and everything that came with it on his own, let alone the loneliness he felt every day alone in his bed, the lack of her smiling face when he woke up each morning... The comforting feeling of her presence was gone and he had to cope for a MONTH! Somehow, though, he managed to get by each agonizing day with a smile on his face, though the majority of those were for the benefit of others. Without Nev around, Lanister had to work less, spending more time with the kids than at the bar and it wasn't like he disliked spending time with his children... He loved them as much as he loved Nevayah, but he also missed the satisfaction he got from serving the town, from dispensing alcohol and a full-days work... He missed Nevayah gracing his bar every once in a while in a surprise visit that always made him smile...

Well.. Today was much like those other agonizing days but now, it was agony for a different reason. Nevayah would be home soon by his calculations and he simply couldn't wait! He was going to kiss her so hard... love more than he ever had... He felt like a giddy child waiting for their birthday...As usual, Lanister made sure his two darling twins were fed, dressed, and ready for their day before heading off to his work, smiling wider than he had in... well... a month. As he tended bar, he did so with vigor he seemed to lack in recent days, serving with a genuine enthusiasm and pride that made his customers love him a tad more than usual. He was so happy about his wife returning that he failed to anticipate what exactly the letter that had JUST been delivered to him mid-job might say...

Well... needless to say the moment he started reading, his mood dropped like an anvil, shattering his enthusiasm under it's weight like cheap glass. Lanister was silent for some time after that, still tending bar with excellence, but lacking the charm he normally had on the job... more than this last month... He wasn't slow, but his movements dragged, his face was one of disappointment and sadness, he appeared as if something quite valuable had been stolen from him and in fact, something was... his wife...

He sighed as everyone went about their business, forcing his sorrow down through gritted teeth as he picked up a dirty glass and began wiping it clean with a napkin, almost seeing Nevayah's reflection in the glass...

Blink

Strolling in just like any other patron would Nevayah made her way towards the bar, a smile appearing on her lips the moment Lanister was within view. There he was handsome as ever wiping out a glass with his back facing the bar. It was the perfect opportunity really and Nevayah was going to take full advantage of it.

Sliding onto a stool she tapped her fingers on the bartop while with her other hand she rested her chin. "Busy day eh?" Purposefully Nevayah lowered her voice to sound completely different, wanting to play on the charade for as long as possible. "What say you pour me a nice tall glass of..." Okay, so she couldn't. The anticipation of seeing his wonderful face too much as she immediately dropped the accent and returned her voice to normal. "...Water?"

She was bursting at the seams waiting for him to turn around, already prepared to launch herself off of the stool and over the bar into his arms at a moments notice.

Lanister sighed, his dejected nature ringing true as he heard someone tapping their fingers upon his bar to get his attention, their voice... unusual... He recognized it only for a second and for that second, his heart shot up in this throat... Then he remembered the letter he had received and his hopes then lowered once more, his shoulders going slack as he continued to wash the cup in his hands. It was probably just some new guy who just reached the legal drinking age or something...

"Yeah..." he sighed, glancing over his shoulder just enough to see the outline of the person. "Business is booming and everyone's happy." He was staring hard into that glass that was so clean one could eat off of it or... drink off it as the situation may be. He waited in meager anticipation as the person began their order, pausing JUST before they made it... then his heart stopped... as the words left their lips, Lanister turned his head around, the sounds coming from behind him too beautiful to be true... But... but... right there, sitting behind the bar with her chin held in her hand was a smiling....

"Nevayah..." He whispered, almost freezing in shock... Almost meaning Lanister dashed out from around his counter, dragging his wife off of her stool and pulling her into a kiss he had been saving for that whole month... He didn't care who saw them or what they thought drunk, sober or half-conscious. He kissed her with all the longing and love and lust that had been building up for the entire time they had been apart, one hand wrapping around her lower back, the other resting on her cheek... Feeling her touch was so angelic... divine... Kissing her now made him wonder how he ever lived without her... Nevayah's mere presence made his skin tingle in pleasure, his eyes water in relief, his heart throb for the woman he NEEDED here with him... His other half had finally come back to him...

"Nevayah..." He whispered again after pulling away, kissing her so long he nearly fell unconscious. "Oh, Nevayah.... I missed you... I missed you so much..." And then... he kissed her again.

Blink

The moment her name left his lips Nevayah bit her own, already anticipating what would happen next. As Lanister ran around the counter Nevayah had already begun to get off of the stool. They met with a long overdue kiss that sent both of their heads whirling into the stars. Just as Lanister had missed her Nevayah had missed him and right now in this moment it was as if two people deprived of oxygen could finally breathe.

While his hand wrapped around her back Nevayah pressed herself into him, wrapping her own arms over his shoulders and around his neck as she felt the warmth of him beneath her. She was all smiles as the two locked lips and even after they separated she could not stop. Before she could even respond that she missed him as well Lanister's lips were upon hers once again, sending them into another whirlwind as the two greeted one another in their own special way.

Finally, Nevayah pulled away, this time taking one of her hands from behind his neck and placing a finger over his lips to silence him. "Suprise!"

Salzem

Before he could even declare how much he loved and missed her, Nevayah had kissed him again, sending him to the stars. He sighed and kissed, rubbing her body as if he was going to strip her right there in front of everyone before Nev pulled away (much to Lanister's discontent), placing a finger on his lips to prevent him from both kissing her again or speaking. At her declaration of surprise, his eyes began to water, tears running down his cheeks as his mouth curled into a loving smile. He moved his hands from her cheek and back to her waist as she held her hand around his neck, staring at her like she was the most beautiful thing to ever exist... (which was exactly the case)

"Oh my gods, Nevayah..." He whispered before breaking out into a laugh, realizing she had pulled a prank on him. That letter was fake, wasn't it? Something to illicit this kind of reaction. "You're so going to pay for that surprise when we get home..." He then pulled her into a hug, holding her against him with that undying love and devotion they had bloomed as children, now growing more and more powerful as adults...

"I love you..." He sighed as he pulled away, kissing her cheek softly as he stared into her eyes... "Oh... I almost forgot... I owe you that water, now don't I..." Slowly, if Nevayah would let him (and if he could make himself) Lanister would pull fully away, slipping back behind the bar as he fiddled with the glasses and bottles. One could practically see the hearts floating over his head as he worked, his face blushed slightly red, the pep-in-his-step bouncing, his body loose almost to the point of collapse... Oh... Nevayah... How he missed you... He was even more enamored with her than when they first met... than when they escaped Eyssrn and stared a life here... perhaps even more than when they had their children because she was now back here with him...

Lanister would manage to make Nevayah her glass of water, placing it on the bar before her, his eyes practically glowing with love...

"I-It's on the house..." He stuttered, his face still blushing from the intensity of that kiss... "How was your trip...?"

Blink

Nevayah took her place back on the stool as Lanister prepared her oh so complicated cup of water. When he finished and placed it in front of her she grabbed the glass and took a sip. Afterward, she set it down and crossed her arms on the bartop.

"It was long... and busy. We stopped so many places and were on such a tight schedule I hardly had any time to relax." Nevayah then sighed, taking yet another sip of her water before continuing. "At night we slept on the wagons in shifts while whoever was awake led the horses to our next destination. We were constantly on the move."

Pushing herself away from the bar a bit she then extended her arms in the air as she stretched. "My back has not forgiven me since the first night. Let alone all the others that followed that." Nevayah then shot Lanister a playful wink. "Perhaps later you could give your loving wife a backrub?"

Salzem

Lanister leaned upon the bar and listened as Nevayah explained her journey, how it was so long and they had so many places to stop with no time to relax. He winced, clearly empathizing with the discomfort she felt on those long nights, when she had to sleep in the wagon and whoever wasn't was driving it... Ugh... He could only imagine how painful that was... how hard the floors she was forced to sleep on were... the nights she couldn't sleep because she had to drive everyone somewhere else... He found he respected his wife even more now for powering through such an agonizing trip, even if that was merely scratching the surface... He couldn't say he would've kept his patience so well... When she mentioned how much of a grudge her back held against her for these transgressions and suggested he give her a backrub later, Lanister's eyes widened as did his smile, leaning in and kissing her square on the lips before letting out a small laugh.

"Why not right now...?" He asked, looking at the clock up on the wall behind the bar. "My shift is over and it's time for me to close up shop..."

It seemed that everyone in the bar had either been watching this whole exchange between him and his wife or had just heard his statement. Each of the drunken men began to take their leave, even being good sports and dragging those who couldn't remove themselves out with them, effectively leaving the two of them alone with a bar Lanister could clean up in the morning.  Right now, he was going to take his beautiful Nevayah home... and ravish her with pleasures they both had gone without for far too long...

"Hey... lets go home, huh...? I'm sure the kids would love to see their mother..." The tainted-blood sighed happily before coming back around the side of the bar once more, offering his hand for Nevayah to take.

"May I escort you home, my lady...?"

Blink

How convenient that Lanister's shift had ended just after her arrival... not that Nevayah was complaining. Happily, she looped her arm through his and smiled. "You may" she giggled, playing along for just a short moment.

As they walked Nevayah was curious if anything exciting had happened while she was away. "So how are the twins? How long did it take them to declare ultimate war on one another after I left?" It was a legitimate question. Nevayah had always been the best at resolving their arguments.

"We really are gonna have our hands full after the next little one comes along." Her other hand then fell to her stomach as she gently pressed it against it. Unlike when she was carrying the twins Nevayah was handling pregnancy like a champ. She wasn't near as sick as before and also was hardly even showing, despite how far along she was. Maybe it was because there was only one this time around.

"Did you think of any names while I was gone?"

Salzem

As they began their walk back in the direction of home, Nevayah asked how the twins were, how long it took them to declare war on each-other without her authority present. Of course, Lanister laughed at that, glad to hear that his wife had maintained her sense of humor after such a trip... He smiled, noting that they were now alone before leaning in and gently kissing her again, letting out a soft sigh of contentment before pulling away and winking at her playfully.

"The kids lasted longer than I thought... You'd actually be surprised how long it took for Izayah to finally go nuts..." He smiled again, warm and knowing, signifying that he was joking. "They were great... and they miss you... They will be so happy to have you home..." And he wasn't lying... Although Lanister was doing his absolute best to keep them happy, spending time with them, loving them, playing and training with them as they wished in their preferred subject, the one parent couldn't fulfil the role of the other... not as well as she...

The tainted-blood glanced down at Nev's stomach as she drew attention to it, her belly already bulging with child... She mentioned that they were going to have their hands full when this child came along and Lanister grinned, excited... Another child... he couldn't wait... While this one may very-well be the last one, he eagerly awaited his new baby... He always wanted a big family like that... one he never had... With a beautiful, strong and loving wife, three darling children and himself... He couldn't ever imagine a situation where he could be happier... When Nevayah asked if he came up with any names, the tainted smiled lovingly into his lover's eyes.

"I was thinking Raviel if it's a boy... If its a girl... I don't know yet..."
