· Physical Description · Lariena was born a small, fair skinned girl and retained and refined that beauty as she aged. Her parents groomed her to be the future wife of a noble, so she was and is always seen as prim and proper when out in public. Her hair is frequently left down in slightly curled waves, usually pinned back with something sparkling and expensive, with her makeup tastefully done to highlight her dark blue eyes.
Lariena wears corseted dresses, usually in blues, blacks, and whites. In all manner of shades and hues. She tends to be finicky about her clothes and fusses about her appearance, always wanting to present as a proper lady. Woe to anyone that musses up her clothes. She's quick to change if she feels the need.
Not being a tall woman by any stretch, that doesn't mean she's a wall flower. Quite the opposite. Lariena can hold a room and doesn't blush easily. Her smiles are likewise a mask and it's very, very difficult to tell exactly what is going on in that mind of hers. She plays the part of noble lady very well.
· Personality ·For as long as Lariena can remember, she was told she would be a token to be married off to help her family. It was an honor, of course, and she was given all manner of lessons and fine things to that end. That also meant that a lot of her time growing up was not her own and she didn't really have a normal childhood. She was dressing proper from the time she could stand and wear a dress, reading and learning family lineages from the time she could read, and learning the ins and outs of what it takes to manage a household when she could manage numbers. Her entire life has revolved around when she would marry and it was never important
who the person was, so much as what it would do for her family and that she better not
fuck it up.
As such, Lariena is fiercely protective of her position as Dimitri's wife and his own standing – as her own well fare is directly tied to his own. She can be mercilessly cruel when it comes to such things and she thinks nothing of stepping on people if it is a means to an end. Conversely, her peers will have a hard time seeing her as anything but the pale faced, sweet beauty she wants to be seen as.
Appearances are everything, and she takes that to heart.
Make a fuss in public? Embarrass yourself in front of others? Lose your temper where others can see? That's the quickest way to earn her scorn, for her to cut ties with someone.
· Magic / Abilities ·Lariena has a sharp mind for numbers, strategy, and manipulation.
She has minor charm magic that can be used to manipulate those of weak will, but she's not aware of it – it's a manifestation of trace fae blood in her family. When angry, this charm can manifest as domination, but it is not something she does consciously and those with a strong mental fortitude won't be aware she's even doing it, let alone be susceptible.
· Relationships ·Dimitri Orlov, Husband · History ·Lariena grew up in an important and powerful trade family in Selevea. The oldest daughter in a large, strict, but tight knit family. She was taught early on that blood-relation and loyalty was the most important. This lesson was hammered in quite harshly when one of her older brothers was beaten and disowned, in front of her and her other siblings, for bringing embarrassment and shame to the family. To this day, she doesn't know his crime and she's never asked. What he did never seemed so important as the fact he'd done something that brought a smear on the family reputation at all.
Eventually, she was married off to Dimitri. To that end, she has tried to be the ideal wife.
